Chapter 25.3: Stolen Glances

As Skye stroll on the dairy section of the grocery store, she smiled as she remembered those happy times she and her mom had back then when she was still alive.

Her mom used to take her everytime they went for a grocery shopping. At first, when she was just a toddler, her mom will just put her on the cart and all she did was to wander her eyes around and just face her mother who sometimes sing her a nursery rhymes. But when she eventually grew up, her mom started to involved her by giving her the lists of all thats needed to buy. She is responsible in checking those items that was already put on the cart and those ones that haven't yet. And by the end of it when they were done, she got to buy whatever she fancy on the grocery. And she always opted for an ice cream.

Skye felt a little proud on herself back then, cause she always follow her mom and listen to her. Not like the other kids that were a handful to their parents. Even though she was naughty sometimes but when it comes to her mom, she follow the rules. She wouldn't be surprised though. Cause it's like her mother always brings out the best in her.

When her mother died, she never got to experience that routine again. When she started to live on an apartment with her ex, she goes on grocery some days but she doesn't bought that many. Only a certain amount will do since it's the only two of them. And mostly they just eat take outs.

Skye was glad it's a grocery shopping she agreed to go to. Or else she would regret saying yes in an instant without knowing where Maddison would take her.

Her thoughts suddenly stop and her feet as well when she reached the freezers at the end of the aisle. She opened the one that have ice cream. She took five little tubs of them. And then when she's about to closed the door, she just shrugged and took another five. Stacking them two by two on her arms. Not even bothered by cold and the sleeves of her black and white striped sweatshirt are starting to get wet.

She peacefully got back to Maddison who was just on the other aisle. She turned right as she tried to balance the tubs on her arms. When she raised her head, she caught a glimpse of a familiar red head at the farthest aisle. Although she wasn't a hundred percent sure if that's her since she's now facing her back on her. But it looks like Abbigail. Violet's friend. A smile instantly appeared on her face at the thought of a brunette with a blueish grey eyes. She started to walk in her direction to check if it was really her. Since she doesn't know where Violet house is, and that woman was so aloof. So her only chance to know about her is through the red headed woman.

"Are you done?" Skye stop her tracks and turned her head on Maddison who was pushing a seemingly full and heavy cart. She immediately went to her and put all the tubs on the cart, thankful that there were still spaces for her ice cream.

Maddison shook her head lightly with a wide smile. "You're really a sucker for ice cream." She said as she pushed the car.

Skye went beside her and help her sister. "You shouldn't be surprised." She smirked.

Skye turned and looked at the direction of where the red head is a while ago but the woman was gone and nowhere to be found. 'Where did she go?' She thought.

"Let's go and pay these." She heard Maddison said and they both push the cart on the counter. Maybe she can talk to her next time.

"Wait." They suddenly stop on their tracks when Maddison said. She check something on her bag and huffed when she didn't find the thing she's looking for. "Ugh, I forgot my wallet in the car." She complained.

"I'll get it." Skye offered. "Just wait here." She said and walks out when Maddison nodded and gave her the car key.

Violet was listening on one of Evanescence song as she sat and wait on her car. Her eyes are closed and she was crossing her arms as she leaned back on the driver seat. You would think she is peacefully sleeping but honestly, she's having a battle against her hormones. Thanks again to her Bestfriend. She just got in the grocery store for just about ten minutes but Violet started to get agitated.

Her thoughts were interrupted when she caught a familiar smell. Her attention was quickly latched on the specific scent. It was her mate's.

Violet opened her eyes and uncrossed her arms and looked around. For just a couple second, she immediately spotted the auburn haired girl that was walking on the parking lot to her right.

Her inner wolf instantly celebrated that they finally got a glimpsed of her at last. It was about four days since she last saw her on the lake. And It wasn't good since she was fighting herself to stop the jealousy she felt on that day. She didn't know what's with Harold's daughter. But she shouldn't do that to her mate, especially infront of her. She should be the only one holding her hands.

Her mate came near her car and she got alerted. But then she stop when her phone rang. She fished it out on her back pocket.

Violet saw an annoyance replace her mate's calm demeanor when she check the caller Id. She opened the window of her car a little to eavesdrop but her mate didn't even answered the call. She end it and put her phone back on her pocket.

The brunette tilted her head, intrigued why. But her thoughts where quickly stop when a strong scent of her mate came inside her car and lingered there. Her eyes automatically closed and she breath it in. Her inside started to calm down. Her smell is so relaxing. She purred.

When she opened her eyes, she saw her mate walked again and went to the car that was parked in front of hers. A three meters apart.

She watched her opened the car door with the keys and look for something inside. She didn't went inside and just bent over. Violet's cheeks got red instantly and she feels hot inside as she got a glimpsed of her fine ass even though she is wearing jeans.

When Skye somehow didn't got the thing she was looking for, she crawled inside but her half lower body was still outside. That position made the skin of her lower back shown. Violet stood up straight instantly which made her hand push the steering wheel and it beep.
