'Stupid.' Violet scolded herself. It was already dark outside as it was about six in the evening. She was still in the forest, walking quietly in her wolf form. She doesn't have particular place to go to when she got out on the mansion but now her paws were dragging her from where her inner wolf wanted her to be. She knew it was a dumb idea but she can't stop herself from following the scent. She feels like an infant that's yearning for her mother's smell. In a span of 35 minutes, she already reached the residence. She can saw the lights from houses. When it got to her mind that she's near from the residence, she immediately stopped. This is not a dumb idea, this is the dumbest, she thought. It was about 60 years ago when one of the resident of the town had accidentally discovered about their kind. All packs were planning to leave the town by then, afraid that they will be exposed to the public. But since her great grandfather was the richest and most influential man in town and because the town's sheriff was also his close friend, he decided to connect with the authorities. Because he doesn't want his wife to be harmed. Which is Violet's great grandmother. So he seek help. Buy not to all of them. Just some people who they can truly trust. They tried to find a way for the people not to believe the man who discovered them. Luckily, since the man had a history on drugs, they used it against him. Accusing him for false information. And that's how the problem was solved. Because honestly,no one would believe that kind of story from a drug addict. Since then, the authorities were covering up about their kind. And in return, her great grandfather help them on their funds. And the authorities gave them one and only rule that they should abide. And that rule is, no one shall be near or be within the area of residence, in time when they shift or in their wolf form. And it's not just for their pack alone but for all the packs in town. And even to those lone wolves. But now, here she is. Breaking the rule her grandfather agreed with. Violet close her eyes. She's trying to calm herself. She tried to convince her inner wolf to stop and turned back around to the forest for where it is safe. But the night was against her as the scent she was longing for suddenly get stronger. She unintentionally breath it in. It was much stronger and nearer this time. She's just near in this area. Her ears perked even she didn't intend to. And then she heard a knock on a door from the distance. "Are you sure you don't want to eat ? It's almost cooked." She heard it said by a soft and caring voice. A voice of a woman. "No. I'm fine. " Replied by another one. That voice was feminine too but a little deeper than the first one. "Okay." The former said. "Skye, would you close your window please? You could catch cold if you let it open the whole night." The woman added. Maybe scolding the other. "Okay." The other one replied. Violet heard some creaked of the bed and footsteps. And then there's shutting of a window. And a gushed of wind. Then she suddenly stopped herself from listening. She doesn't want to make some dumb move anymore. She was about to turned around when she smelled the scent again. She halted and quickly turned her head from it's direction. It's from her mate. And it's just about one block away. She growled. She tried restraining herself. She realized it was more difficult than to restrain her anger. But that growling turns into purring when she heard the girl uttered some satisfaction on whatever she was eating. It turned up the heat to Violet's whole body. It aroused her. And because of it. She forgot about the long agreed rule and just go to her mate's place. She kept thinking that no one will see her if she will be careful and beside, it is already dinner time so the people probably busy eating their meals. When she reached at her destination she found herself on the back of a house. Her mate's house maybe, she can't confirm that yet since she didn't see her.And that she needs to find out. She walked slowly towards the house. She's being careful and making sure she will not make any noise. 'Just one glance'.'She promised to herself. Just one glance and she will turned back home. And there. From the upstairs, just by the window, Violet saw her. Her mate. Sitting and eating , probably an ice cream, while scrolling through her cellphone. 'So this is where she lives.' she thought. She was so fixed on staring at her that she didn't mind walking further. But then it came to her senses that she shouldn't be seen by people, especially her mate. So she stayed and hide behind the bushes. A meter away from the fence of the backyard. It's dark in this area so she's safe here. She let herself to stay there for a while. Staring from afar. Admiring her. Because it's the least she can do for herself. 'Just one glance huh?' she scolded herself again. So much more a glance. "Oh f**k you." She heard her muttered. And by hearing that specific word, it added to her arousal. 'Damn you Violet.' she said , closing her eyes. She then opened it when a grayish cat in black stripes in front her was hissing at her direction. She didn't dare to make a move or any noise. She just stared at it. How dare it hissed at her. It size was not even reached the quarter of hers. Such brave cat. The cat was still growling and hissing on her when suddenly there's a viper snake crawling in front of her. And the cat was looking at it while growling. So this is what it was kept hissing about and not her. The snake crawl towards the direction of the cat so Violet move to prevent it. It's a viper snake. A venomous and deadliest snake. Just one bite and it could kill you for about a minute. But instead to scare away the snake, the cat was the one who scurried away. It jump on the fence door, so it opened. It wasn't lock. When Violet turned to look up the window to her mate, she was not there anymore. She tried to listen to where she is but when the backdoor of the house was suddenly opened, it was too late for her to go out on the bushes because her mate will probably see her. So she kept still. "Uh dummy." her mate's said when she step on the grass barefoot. Her mate was slowly walking towards the fence door when the cat hisses again. She turned around to face it. "Hey there kitty, what's the matter ?" she said. But it just kept hissing on the fence door. Her mate glanced back at the door and when she saw nothing she glance back to the cat again. When Violet saw movement from the door she immediately knew what the cat was hissing about. It was the viper snake. It was still there. And it was crawling towards the direction of her mate. 'No.' she said. Her protective mode kicking in. She unintentionally growled which got the attention of her mate. Skye saw her but she didn't move. Both of them actually. But when the viper snake kept crawling near her mate, she did the thing that she might regret later. She moved forward.
