Skye sighed. She just came from the kitchen and is now looking outside from the window of the living room. Maddison and Levi were at the front of the house standing besides Levi's truck, talking seriously.
Maddison looked stress and Skye clearly knew why. She hates to cause problem to her sister but this is about their safety. Even the thing she was terrified about was gone, there is still some things that is bothering her.
What Sheriff Fisher said was one of it. And the grumpy officer too. And then Thomas and others. Why would they risk their lives capturing the wolf if they can just report it to the higher authorities.
Skye looked at them solemnly when the couple embraced each other. Maddison obviously wanted to stay here with Levi than to go back to the city with her. She can see how they love each other. And beside, this is where her sister's father lived and this house was the last thing he left for her.
Skye felt terrible. Her sister had many reasons to stay here but she kept insisting her to leave.

"Thank you, Sheriff." Maddison said and stood up from the sofa.
"It's a pleasure, Miss Davis." Sheriff Fisher replied as they shook their hands. He then turned to looked at the younger one. "And thank you for your time Skye. I'm sorry we bothered you from your sleep." he said with a polite smile offering his hand for her to shake.
"It's okay " Skye muttered and shook his hand.
"Well I guess it's time for me to leave now." The Sheriff said as he wore his hat. He gave them a smile before he turned to leave.
"I'll walk you out." Levi said and walk outside together with the Sheriff.
Skye just stared at them. Then she turned to looked at them from the window of the room when they got outside. Officer Mitchell was already waiting for them there, standing just by the patrol car's door. Then he suddenly looked towards her direction as if he can sense someone was looking at him. He still had that look on his face.
"Skye." Maddie called her out and she turned to look at her. "Are you okay?" she asked.
"Yes." she replied unsure.
Maddie was about to say something when Skye talked again. "But were still leaving." she replied.
"What?" Maddie asked her.
"You heard me Maddie." Skye said as she turned around to walk away.
"But it was already dead." Maddie said and Skye stop on her tracks. "You had nothing to be afraid of , Skye. We are totally safe here." She insisted.
Skye took a deep breath before she turned to face her sister again. "How can you be so sure about that?" she asked.
Maddie opened her mouth to speak but she shut it again. She look outside through the window and sighed.
"I just know." she replied in a faint voice. But there is certainty in her eyes as she look at Skye.
"You know I don't have a degree Maddie but I'm not stupid. That thing didn't just pop out of nowhere." Skye said pointing her finger to nothing in particular. "I know for sure it has it's pack and they surely look just like it."
"But they aren't. Don't you heard what Sheriff Fisher said?" Maddie asked with her stern voice. She was obviously starting to get annoyed.
"Did you really believe them?!" Skye asked incredulously. Raising her voice as well. "They were keeping it a secret from people, Maddie. Even for the whole country. For all we know they were keeping a secret from us too just so we don't get panic and terrified!"
"That is non sense!" Maddie raised her voice as well. Even though she don't want to argue with her sister, she can't stop herself from trying to convince her. "And even if you were right, we still had nothing to do about it. They already know what their doing. "
"But we don't! And that's why we need to leave this town!"
"Can you stop making unnecessary decisions? This is not all about you Skye. So please stop being immature for once!" Maddie said and it silenced Skye in an instance.
When Maddie realized what she said, she immediately regretted it.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-"
"No, it's okay. " Skye cut her off. Maddie can see her sadness through her eyes behind the strong demeanor she was forcing to show.
"Skye, I'm-"
"I said it's okay Maddie." Skye said and storm out of the room and went upstairs.
"Skye." Maddie called her out. She followed her upstairs to her room.
When she arrived at her sister room, Skye was frantically collecting her clothes from the closet and put it one by one on her duffel bag.
"Skye." Maddie called her out again. "Stop it please." she added. The softness on her voice came back.
"You're right, this is not just about me." Skye replied to her.
"I understand it, Maddie." Skye added as she fixes her clothes inside her bag. "We're grown ups now and we can make our own decisions. I'm sorry I kept dragging you with me. I forgot you had a life of your own. I should have stop insisting myself in your life. I know you don't need me anymore.
"What? Why would you think that, Skye ? That's not true. I need you, okay? I need you in my life." Maddie suddenly said. She sound vulnerable to Skye.
"Do you really, Maddie?" Skye asked her. Stopping what she was doing and just face Maddie.
"Yes. It's true." Maddie replied firmly. Skye just look at her without saying anything back.
"No, it's not." Skye said after a while and started to pack again.
Maddison sighed. She feel stress but she still continue talking to her sister. "Yes. It is."
"No, it's not! " Skye suddenly said, raising her voice and facing her sister again. "Cause if it was, you wouldn't left me back then!"
Maddie was a little stunned. She didn't know what to say. But she tried to explain for herself.
"You know I need to do it, Skye. I need to study hard so that I can get a better job and so we can have a better life. So that I can provide your needs and your wants. Just like your favorite motorbike. "
"But I don't need any of it!" Skye said as she throw away the the tank top she was currently holding. "What I need is you." she added. "Do you know how I struggle emotionally back then? It was so hard Maddie. With me struggling with my sexuality and no one to talked to because my father was busy with his new family and my sister was miles away. I didn't told you that because I don't want to be a burden for you. Just like now."
"You're not a burden to my life Skye." Maddie immediately said. She felt sad knowing what her sister felt. "You have never been and you never will , okay?. I'm so sorry I'm not there when you needed me. But I'm here now. You had me. You can talk to me just like old times." She added in a soft voice. She felt terrible for not knowing how her sister felt back then. She should have been there for her.
"You're just doing that because you think I'm just you're f*****g responsibility when Mom died!" Skye replied in a croaked voice. A tear fell on her eye. She is getting emotional as she remembers their mother. She totally stop what she was doing and sat down on her bed.
"You can stay here. You don't need to go with me anymore, I will leave by myself." she muttered. Trying to stop the tears that were trying to escape.
"No, you're wrong. I'm doing this because you're my little sister and I love you." Maddie said after. She slowly walk towards Skye and sat beside her.
"I'm sorry if that's what you feel, but I really care for you Skye. And I still need you in my life even if you get old and have wrinkles." Maddie sincerely said. There were tears forming on her eyes too. She wiped them when they fall and sighed.
"If you really think is not safe here then we can go." She added and Skye look at her with curiously.
"I will go with you. And I will never leave you again."
