"I know you just cared about the safety of the people here, Skye, we are too." The Sheriff said breaking the silence in the room. "But we tend to keep information from them about certain problems, if we can just handle it on the first place. That's why we send Thomas and his men right after Levi called us yesterday." He added. Then he just sighed before he continues. "They stay up all night just to monitor it and to make sure it wouldn't go near the residence again. And they waited till dawn just to capture it." Skye just remains silent. She's still holding the picture in her hands. Her eyes were fixed on it but her mind is elsewhere. She's doesn't mind if it was the same wolf she saw anymore. The thing that is bothering her now is why they are so suss about it. "They did it not because we told them to, but because they wanted keep make this town a safe place for it's people." Officer Mitchell said. Looking at Skye like she have done something wrong. 'What's the matter with this one?' she thought. "That's how we work." Sheriff Fisher said. "Because the last thing we wanted is to start chaos in this place and for it's citizens to feel unsafe. Southern Vale is a very peaceful town, and we don't want to destroy that image. Do you understand us, Skye?" Fisher continued, looking intently at Skye. Hoping she would understand. "If you're still not convinced, you can see it for yourself." Officer Mitchell suddenly said when Skye didn't talk. "No." She replied quickly. She don't want to see it again with her own eyes. Never. She is even trembling just by thinking about it. "There's no need." Skye added before slowly put down the picture . "I... I believe you." Sheriff Fisher took a deep breath and fixed the tie of his uniform. He then took a glance to Levi and Maddie before he talks again. "Thank you for believing us. I guess-" "But can I asked you a question, Sheriff?" Skye said, cutting off his sentence. Sheriff Fisher was a little stunned when Skye said it but he let her so "Okay. Go on." He said. "If it is really just a specie of wolf, are you not even curious how big it was? Or where it came from? Or does it have another one there?" "That's a lot for just a question." Officer Mitchell commented. Not breaking his stare on Skye. Sheriff Fisher took a quick glance at him because of it before he turned to face Skye again and answer her questions. "All of us are curious. Who wouldn't be?" "If you are, why don't you let the higher authorities to know about it? I'm sure they will study it and surely they know what to do." Skye said. Even how terrified she is on that thing, she was still interested to know it's origin and whereabouts. There is something that telling her so. She don't know why. "I think there is no reason for us to tell them Miss Anderson." Officer Mitchell butted in on their conversation again. "Since it was already dead, there is nothing they can do anymore." "But why?" Skye asked. This time it was directed to Mitchell. "Isn't it ridiculous that you wouldn't inform them? Cause surely this wolf could be a new breed or anything. This is something." Skye added. Her blood starting to boiled. In this Officer is the reason for it "Because it's confidential. A non-citizen like you wouldn't understand it." "Officer Mitchell." Sheriff suddenly called him. Stopping him for what he might said. "I think I can handle this alone. You can go back to the car now. I'll be there when we finished." Officer Mitchell look at Sheriff Fisher with his face a little red. Maybe from the anger. Then he turned and glared at Skye. "Go on now, Dean." Sheriff Fisher firmly said. And that's when he stood up and walk out from the room then out to the house. "What's his problem?" Skye asked when he got outside. "I apologize for his behavior. He just had a bad day." Sheriff Fisher sincerely said. "I don't like him." Skye commented. "Skye." Maddison scolded her. Looking at her fiercely. "It's okay." Sheriff said and unexpectedly laugh a little at what Skye said. "I don't like him sometimes." "But he is right, Skye. You wouldn't understand it." Sheriff continued. "Why is that?" Skye curiosity was killing her. To her, they seem suspicious. "Let's just say that, every place has it's own secret." Officer Sheriff started. He looked at Levi again. There is something on that look and Skye noticed it. "I'm not saying that we had one." he laugh a little to his own words and look at Skye again. "I just wanted to point out that sometimes, to make things better, you need to keep what you knew." Sheriff Fisher collected the three picture one by one from the table and held it all in his hands before looking intently at Skye. "What happens in Southern Vale, remains in Southern Vale. It's an unwritten law we obeyed throughout the years. And we want you to respect that law, Skye. Either you want it or not. "
