"Oh s**t!" Skye exclaimed when she turned around and saw Maddison standing quietly behind her. She nearly dropped the small tub of ice cream she just got from the fridge. "Excuse me, Miss. But no cursing in this house." Maddison said as she crossed her arms on her chest, firmly emphasizing the word 'cursing'. "It's not my fault. You scared me." Skye said before she took a spoon from the kitchen drawer just beside her and walk away from the fridge, ignoring her sister's glares. "Don't spoil some on your bed. Or the ants will come after it." Maddison warned her as she opened the fridge to get some cold water from a pitcher and poured some on the glass she took from drawer. She saw her younger sister was having a hard time opening the lid since it quite hardened from staying on their freezer for too long. But took her just a few seconds before she was able to open it. "Open sesame." She heard her muttered with a smirk before she get a spoonful of ice cream and put it on her mouth. "Mmmm. Heaven. " she added as she savored the last tub of ice cream Levi gave her the other day. Maddison just shook her head at her sister. "Don't forget what I just told you." she muttered to her before she drink her glass of water. "Yeah, yeah, I know. You know I don't just waste my ice cream. I always eat them properly in bed." Maddison choked on the water that she's currently drinking when her sister sais those words, spilling some water drops on the floor. Skye was a bit surprised to what she have just said too. She just laughed nervously and said, "I'm sorry it came out wrong." as she looked at Maddison coughing and wiping the water on her chin. The latter glared at her younger sister. "Goodnight Maddie." Skye quickly said before she hurriedly got out from the kitchen and run upstairs while giggling. And Maddison just sighed at her sister's behaviour. ************************************************************* Violet rolled her eyes to Abby who trailed behind her as she walk on the now empty and quiet hallways of the mansion. It's already twelve midnight and all the people in the mansion were already fallen asleep, except her, and her nosy Bestfriend. The brunette just got out from her room wearing a blood red night robe with a satin spaghetti strap night dress inside. She just took a bath and she feels better now. But maybe not, because the person whom she was avoiding to talk since they left the winery was about to pester her again. When they reached her office, she immediately opened the door and let it open for Abby. She then went to her mini bar and poured herself a wine that she's been drinking when they got home earlier. And just left it there when she took her bath. By the time that Abby arrived, she was already sitting on the bar stool, staring at particularly at nothing. Her Bestfriend closed the door and just looked at her direction. She was already on her beige sleeveless night gown that ends just above her knees. Her red hair was on a messy bun. The lights in the room were off and the only source of light was the moonlight that passes through the floor to ceiling windows. But they both don't mind it as they can see things clearly without the support of a light. Abby gracefully walk towards the mini bar and sat at the bar stool next to hr Bestfriend. When she did, something immediately caught her attention. She saw the box that Skye brought for Violet. It was on the bar table just beside the wine bottle. The box was open, but sadly for Abby, there's no chocolate muffin left. The only remains were some tiny crumbs on each corners. "Wow. You didn't even left one muffin for me. That was so nice of you." Abby sarcastically said, clearly unamused. "Why should I?" Violet replied, nonchalant. Not even looking at Abby. She was just staring at her glass, as if something was interesting on it. "It was for me. Not for you." she added before she took a sip on her wine. Violet can't believe that she ate all the chocolate muffins just by herself. Normally, it was too many for her appetite but she was so determined to eat all of those. She didn't even think about Abby who was desperately wanted to eat them when they were on the car. The ginger head snorted. "Since when did you became greedy?" she asked, as she stood up and walk around the bar table. Not even waiting for her Bestfriend's reply. "I'm not greedy." She heard Violet said while she took a glass from the drawers on the mini bar. "I'm just appreciating it. She waited too long just to give it to me. I don't want to waste it." Violet added. Abby turned around, holding a clean glass on her hand. Staring at her bestfriend while raising one of her eyebrow at her. "So you have realized it." she said before she walk back towards the bar table. She sat on the stool again and grab the wine bottle. She poured a drink on her own glass and look at Violet afterwards. "You kept the poor girl waiting for you for about half the day." she added before she drank her wine. "It was not my fault. I didn't ask her to wait for me." the brunette retorted back. "I didn't say that it was your fault. I'm just trying to say that you could have just go outside and meet her. All you had to do is talked to her a bit and accept those muffins. So she will go home by then." Abby said and face her best friend entirely. She was so ready to banter. The room was soundproof anyway, so no one from the mansion could possibly heard them. Violet sighed and rolled her eyes at the ginger head beside her. "You know it's not that easy, Abby." she said firmly. Her annoyance at her bestfriend slightly grew. She huffed as she remembers how she tried to contained herself to go and meet her mate. Especially when Frederick was hitting on her. It feels like there was a fire inside of her that was trying to break free everytime she's with her mate, or even just looking at her form the distance. "I'm already having a hard time just by staring at her, let alone talk to her. You know the feeling. " Violet continued before she poured another wine on her glass. "But you shouldn't kept her wait that long. It's not because you will reject her, you will make things hard for her then. It's not her fault that she's your mate." "What do you want me to do then ?!" Violet suddenly said and glared at her Bestfriend. "Call her? In case you don't know, I don't have her number. " she added before she stood up and went to the floor to ceiling window, bringing the wine glass with her. She was starting to get really annoyed at her ginger head friend. She doesn't get why Abby can't understand her. She should be the one who knows it since she had the same feeling before when her and Emmet just got started on their relationship. "No." Abby said turning her body to face towards the direction of Violet, who was now standing at the window with a frown. She stared at the beauty of the moon , hoping that she could get relaxed by watching it. But it's no used if her Bestfriend would continue to pester her. "But you could at least tried to find another way to convince her to go home. Like , you could have ask Allison, your secretary, to talk to her and tell her that she doesn't need to wait for you a-" "Then she would know that I know that she's been waiting for me!" Violet exclaimed, completely interrupting Violet' s sentences. Never even turning around to face her Bestfriend. "Isn't that suspicious.?" Violet added. The irritation was evident on her voice. "Suspicious?!" Abby said incredulously at her. "You two have met each other before that. Why would it be suspicious." She added and laughed humorlessly "You obviously talk to each other already. So I guess it's not impossible for you to hold back yourself just for a while. You can talk to her in a short period of time without exposing yourself, then took the box from her and said your thank you's and goodbye's. That's it. " "No, it's not just that. I know it will take longer even I don't show an interest in talking to her. And then things will get awkward." Violet face heated when her mind recalled the scene from the diner. That's one of the reason why she knew she can't keep her cool for a long time in front of her mate. The auburn haired girl would definitely bring it up between their conversation. "Why would it get awkward?" Abby asked as she raised her eyebrow at her. "Cause she will brought up what happened." Violet muttered and jaw clenched as she tried to suppress her growl. "Why, what happened?" Abby asked immediately. As their conversation get longer, the more she was so desperate to know what happened between the two. Why would the girl made some peace offering to Violet? Did they fight? Or did Skye made a mistake? How did they met again and what have they talked ? That was all the questions that were on Abby's mind that were left unanswered. "You won't understand." Violet shortly replied. "Then help me understand." Abby said as softly as she could to ease the mood of her Bestfriend and convinced her to tell the reason why. "Just shut the hell up, Abby." Violet muttered before she turned around and walk towards the couch. She placed the wine glass on the center table before she lay down on the couch. She close her eyes and pinch the bridge of her nose with her fingers. "Vee-" "I said shut up." The annoyed Alpha quickly said, still closing her eyes . "I won't if you won't tell me why." Violet groaned. Why can't she just had a peaceful night? That's what she thought. She then took a deep breath and just ignored Abby. She just lay there, calming herself. "Why is it, Vee?" Abby asked her but she didn't respond. "Vee?" She called again. "Ve-" "Because we kissed !" Violet shouted as she quickly sat up. "That's it!." ************************************************************* Skye was enjoying her tub of ice cream when her phone suddenly rang. She took it from the night stand and check the caller ID. It was an unknown number. Her eyebrow raised but she still accept the call though. "Hello?" she softly said. "Hey." said by the voice from the other line. The voice sound familiar to her. A little deep and sultry. "Vanessa ?" she curiously asked. Then she heard the girl chuckled at her. "Yeah, it's me." she said. "So , you're still awake, I almost dropped the idea of calling you, thinking that maybe you already have fallen asleep." she added, and Skye can sense her smile. "Lucky for you then." Skye muttered before sat up straight from leaning on her headboard. "So, what's up?" Skye added with a faint smile on her face. "You didn't showed up at the theater." Vanessa said, there's a little disappoinment on her voice and Skye noticed it. "Yeah, I'm sorry, I just had something to do. Maybe next time though? I promise I will come. " the auburn haired girl replied before she took a spoonful of ice cream from her already half eaten ice cream tub. Then eat it afterwards. "Are you eating ?" Vanessa asked when she heard the clicking sound between spoon and teeth. "Mm-mm." Skye's short reply and Vanessa felt like that the sound was like a music to her hears. " I'm eating the last tub of ice cream that Levi brought for me the other day. "Wow. That's yummy. " Vanessa commented. "Yeah, it is." Skye said as she continuously eat and lick the ice cream from her spoon. Vanessa laughed as she heard the slurping sound from the other line. . Skye got curious on why did Vanessa suddenly laughed. Completely unaware that she was the reason of it. . "What? What is it?" she curiously asked. "Nothing." Vanessa quickly answered back. She then cleared her voice before she talks again. "So, Skye. Are you busy tomorrow?" she asked. A creased form on Skye's forehead as she thought about her sched tomorrow. She don't really have something to do actually, aside from staying at home with Maddison. "No. Not at all." was her short reply before she placed down the now empty tub of ice cream on her nightstand. "Why'd you ask?" she added. "Ahmm. Actually, I just wanted to invite you to go somewhere. That is, if you want?" the girl on the other line cautiously asked. "Where?" "It's a secret." Vanessa replied after a while. "You will know it tomorrow." she added. Skye just smirked at her . She then bit her lower lip and think.."Are we going to Disneyland?" she playfully asked. "No," Vanessa replied. "Then I won't come with you." Skye said smirking at her. "Skye? I'm serious." The blue eyes beauty whined, but Skye heard her chuckled faintly afterwards. "Okay, okay. I'm sorry." Skye giggled. "So, would you like to come?" Vanessa asked her. Skye laid down on her bed while the phone was still on her ear.. "Of course."
