"You took forever." The blue eyed beauty commented as soon as Skye took off her helmet after she got off on her motorbike.
"I told you, I'm not good in navigating." Skye replied as she put her helmet down and fixes her hair afterwards.
Vanessa chuckled at her and stood up from sitting on a giant rock which have of it's body was buried on the ground .
"The sign isn't that hard to find." She said while crossing her arms. She was referring to the wooden signage that stood just beside the main road. It was just approximately five hundred meters away from their pack's neighborhood and it had a 'WEST SIDE' letters written on it.
"Yeah, it isn't. But the way to get here is." Skye complained.
There's a scowl on her face when she walks towards where Vanessa stood while both of her hands were on the pockets of her maroon leathered jacket.
"I told you that you just need to turned left and follow the pathway. " Vanessa said with a side smile, quite amused on her newly arrived friend.
"Pathway? There's not even one to begin with." Skye said and her forehead creased before she speak again. "Unless there was an imaginary road that I can't see."
Vanessa just shook her head while smiling at her companion, still amused but said nothing.
"And why did they named it west side if it's on the right side of the road?" Skye asked and the scowl in her face was gone and replaced by curiosity. Other people may thought that she's just being sarcastic but Vanessa knew she really did asked it out of curiosity.
She just smirked at the auburn haired girl before she replied. "That's because th-"
"Aha!" Skye exclaimed, cutting off Vanessa's sentence. "Is that because the sign was put originally on the left, on the way here, and they just transferred it on the other side because they a have new facility there, or building, or vacation house maybe?" She guess and then patiently wait for a reply .
Vanessa just laughed a little at her. "Come on." She said instead, and turned around to walk ahead. Not answering the question of her companion..
"Where are we going?" Skye asked as she followed her friend.
"You'll know when you get there." Vanessa's short reply.
"What about my bike?" Skye took a glanced back at her motorbike with a concerned face.
"Just leave it there. No one's gonna take it, trust me." Vanessa said with certainty in her voice as she continued to walk and Skye just followed her, leaving her motorbike behind.
Skye had no clue at where they were heading at but she confidently followed the girl in front of her. There wasn't any visible road or traces of footsteps on their way. Just some overgrown grasses and fallen leaves. And trees as well. This place looks like a secluded area of the woods but she doesn't mind it because she trust the girl. So instead, she tried to focused on the person in front of her. Quietly staring at her as she walks through.
Vanessa's long ash brown hair cascaded down on her back. She's wearing a white shirt and the color of her skin was somehow enhanced because of it. Skye's stares unconsciously went down and she noticed that Vanessa's behind looks great on her fitted blue jeans.
Skye immediately shook her head and erased the thought on her mind.
"No way, Skye. " she quietly muttered as she looked away and sighed. Mentally scolding herself by checking out her friend. But who wouldn't? Vanessa's beauty is exceptional. Both her and her twin brother Dean. They were look like models that cut out straight from the magazine. Her friends from the city would surely gone crazy if they will meet them.
"What?" Skye instantly turned her head towards the girl in front of her when she suddenly asked, stopping her from her tracks.
Skye was a little stunned that Vanessa heard her but she just replied a quick "Nothing." . An embarrassed smile formed on her lips before she speak again. " Just go ahead."
The blue eyed beauty noticed her flushed cheeks. She raised her eyebrow at her but said nothing and just continued to walk. But a sly smile formed on her lips as she do so.
It's been nearly a couple of minutes passed and they were still walking. Skye don't know if they were close enough to their destination cause all she can see were trees.
"Are we there yet?" she asked as she looks around. Trying to figure out the place.
"No. But we're close." Her companion shortly replied.
Skye took a glanced back to where they came from and she can't see even a glimpse of her motorbike any more. They seem far now, she thought.
"You're not trying to kidnap me, are you?" she asked out of nowhere while still walking. She said it in a serious tone that you would think that she's really serious about it but actually not. Vanessa knew that so she just laughed at her and replied.
"If I will kidnap you, then why did I bothered myself asking for your sister's permission then?"
Skye suddenly stop on her tracks with her mouth slightly wide open.
"Oh, you talked to her?" she said as she crossed her arms. "No wonder she said yes all of a sudden when I asked her." She muttered, rolling her eyes up as she took a step again and followed Vanessa.
"Yeah. But she strictly said that I shouldn't let you be alone with yourself."
Skye snorted. "I know she would really say that. She trusted you guys more than her own sister. What did you to her?" she said as she lightly kicked off some fallen leaves on her way.
She heard Vanessa chuckled and said, "That's what you earned if you're an obedient person."
"Okay." Skye said as she hold up her two hands. And didn't say anything afterwards and just focused on her way.
A few seconds passed when she heard a clanking sound. When she lifted up her head, she saw Vanessa loosen up the chain on a five feet tall wooden gate on the barbed wire fence.
She was so focused on her way that she didn't noticed it ahead.
"What are you doing?" Skye asked when Vanessa opened the gate and went inside. Her forehead creased as she looked towards her friend.
Vanessa turn around and said, "Going inside?"
"But it's a private property." Skye pointed out the sign that hanged just beside the gate. "You're trespassing." she added.
Her companion smirked at her ."Don't tell me it's your first time doing it?" she asked, a little intrigued.
"It's not." Skye replied. "But Maddison will certainly kill me if I cause trouble, Van." she added in a quite serious tone, obviously unamused.
"Relax." Vanessa chuckled as she opened the gate widely for Skye."My father wouldn't imprison us from entering his property."
"Oh." Skye muttered. "You should have said in the first place that this was yours." she added before she get inside.
Vanessa just smirked at her before she closes the gate.
"So where to go next?" Skye asked when Vanessa was done.
"Follow me." Vanessa's short reply as she turned left and walk ahead.
Skye followed her. There's only some trees inside of the property but it they're all big enough to shade them from the heat of the sun. And the good thing is, it was beside the lake.
It only took only a few steps when Skye saw a big tree house ahead of them.
"Wow." she gasped when she stop walking and just stared in awe.
The tree house was approximately seven feet high on the ground. Aside from the short wooden bridge that's connected from the wooden staircase to the main door , it also had a terrace on the front that's overlooking the lake.
It was big enough to be considered to be a vacation house. It was even bigger than her apartment.
"I'm glad you liked it." She heard Vanessa said with smile. Who was just staring at her the entire time. Loving her reaction.
"Come on." She added before she walk towards the wooden staircase.
Skye silently followed her and they both got upstairs. She then held unto the railings when they're already at the top and walk across the short bridge.
Vanessa was already waiting for her in the other side. Crossing her arms and leaning her back on the door while smiling at her direction.
When Skye reached the main door, Vanessa gently opened it. "Welcome to our humble abode." she said as she let Skye enter first.
"This is awesome." Skye said as she look around.
On the right side of the house, that she guess was the living room, had a high ceiling and a gray couch that looks comfy and a fireplace too. While on the left side was the kitchen, the dining table, the bathroom and the small staircase towards the elevated area above. It probably served as their bedroom since there was a comforter on the floor. And the door on the other side led to the terrace.
Skye immediately walk towards it. A cool breeze instantly greeted her as she went outside. A smile formed on her face when she look over the expanse of the lake. It was beautiful. There was nothing like this where she grew up. Now she knew why Maddison preferred to live in a town than the city. It's peaceful here and the air is fresh.
Sky came near the railings and look down. The water was so inviting that she wanted to jump and swim but she just giggled instead. Unaware of the amused stares that the blue eyed beauty was giving her. Who was quietly standing beside the door.
"Did you build this?" Skye asked when she turned around and faced Vanessa.
"No, my grandfather did." she replied, still with a smile on her face. "He made this as a wedding gift to my parents." she added.
"Wow, he had a best wedding gift ever. I bet he's a cool dude." Skye commented and turned around to look down again.
"Yeah, he was." Vanessa's short reply and Skye immediately turned to face her when she heard it.
"Oh, I'm sorry." she said seriously. She was so careless for not thinking about the possibility that Vanessa's grandfather might be dead.
"Hey, it's okay." the latter said, uncrossing her arms and laughed a little at her. "He was long gone now."
Vanessa sighed before she speak again.
"By the way. Do you want me to tour you around first before we eat ? Or the other way around? What do you like." she added with a timid smile.
"You made us lunch?" the auburn haired girl asked with an amused smile on her face.
Vanessa smirked. "Yeah, but it's nothing much." she said. "Maddison said you like tuna so I decided to make some tuna salad for you." she added and the face of her companion suddenly brighten up because of it.
"Really?" Skye asked and Vanessa just nodded at her. Unconsciously licking her lips as she do so.
"Let's eat then. I'm already starving." she immediately said, a little excited to eat since she ate her breakfast too early in the morning. "Where's the food?" she added as she go back inside like she owned the place.
The blue eyed beauty can't help but laughed at her before she followed her inside.
************************************************************
Violet doesn't care about her clothes getting wet because of the water that drips down from her wet hair and as well as from her drenched undergarments.
She was just supposed to check the sensors she just got installed near the lake side area that is still a part of her property, but she ended up swimming instead.
The water is so inviting, and she can't stop herself from taking the chance while there's no other people in the area. Besides, the last time that she took a swim at the lake was about a few years ago before she started going to college. The difference is, she usually swim at night back then. Where all the people are already in their bed.
Violet should be home by now when she was already done swimming. But here she was instead. Walking around the woods, trying to find the cute bunny she just saw.
Yes it wasn't important, but she always tend to follow them everytime she find one. She don't know why. All she think about was their cuteness.
A particular face suddenly pop up to her mind. Her mate. She was like a bunny too. She's cute and she always wanted to follow her and be with her even though how much she restrained herself from doing so. Maybe she wouldn't have a hard time rejecting her if the kiss didn't happen.
Violet suddenly remembered the conversation she had with Abby last night. Her mind recalled the embarrassing moment where she accidentally spilled the tea to her Bestfriend.
"You what? You kissed?" Abby asked in disbelief.
Violet close her eyes hard and clenched her jaw. Mentally scolding herself from being reckless.
"Buy h-how? Why ? What did you do? When did this happened? You better tell me the details, Vee. I can't kept my mouth shut now if you won't tell me, you knew that." The ginger head blabbered on and on as she got off the bar stool and stood in front of Violet.
The latter just took a deep breath before she speak up.
"It was just a dare." she said.
"And then?" Abby immediately asked afterwards, eager to know about it.
"I happened to have breakfast at the diner where she and her friends at. One of her friends dared her and that's when she sat beside me and tried to talk to me." Violet explained further while her Bestfriend was intently listening at her.
"And the last thing I remembered was her lips on mine." She said the last part as quietly as she could but Abby heard her anyway.
"Oh my. You really did kissed." Abby said after a while, with a wide smile on her face.
Violet face and ears suddenly turned pink as her Bestfriend teases her.
"It was supposed to be in the cheeks by the way. It wasn't my intention to face her." Violet said with a frustrated look.
"It's that the reason why she wanted to apologize?" Abby asked her curiously and she just nodded.
The ginger head just smirked and crossed her arms on her chest. "Poor Skye. She shouldn't feel sorry about it. If only she knew that you enjoyed the kiss."
Violet instantly glared at her bestfriend .
"What?" Abby asked and laughed a little at him. " We both know that you liked it, Vee. Don't try to fool me." she added with a sly smile on her face.
The brunette didn't say anything back at her. Cause she indeed like the kiss.
Her ears perked when she suddenly heard a crunching sound of a dried leaves. She stop for a while and focused on it, thinking that maybe it was the rabbit. She even tried to catched it's scent but then she got nothing. So she started to walk again. She was only few steps ahead when she heard it again. But this time it didn't stop. It was rather continuous but slowly. Like it was cautiously taking step.
Violet tried to focused on it again. The sound came from the east, approximately twenty one meters away from her.
She don't know what it was but she slowly walk towards it. She only took a few steps when her nose catched up a very familiar scent. It was from her mate.
Violet suddenly took a step back slowly. She didn't know what her mate is doing here. She just wanted to disappear before Skye will see her again.
She was about to turned around when she heard her mate groaned. It made her stop from her tracks. Her protective mode kicks in and she can't stop herself from worrying about her.
She tried to focused on her again and tried to know what is happening. But she gets nothing as her mate stop moving. There's no more sound she can hear from her, only her scent.
Violet decided to find out.
She slowly walk towards her. Her scent get stronger as she came near her direction. It was so comforting.
It only took a minute when she caught a glimpse of her mate few meters away. Crouching down on a big trunk of a fallen tree.
"Hey buddy. That's not a food, okay?" she heard her said.
Something moved from the log and Violet heard it squeak. It's a racoon. That's what she thought. But she can't figure out why her mate was talking to it.
Violet hide herself from a tree when Skye suddenly moved back. The raccoon was trying to get out from the trunk but her mate is blocking the way.
"Give it to me, buddy. If you're hungry, I promise to give you food , if , you give that back to me." Skye said with a saddened face. She look like she was about to cry.
"Please, buddy. Give my bracelet back." Skye slowly move her hand towards the raccoon. Trying to get the thing she desperately wanted to get back.
Her hand was dangerously near at it when it suddenly ran away. Scooting itself through the gap beside her.
"No, wait!" Skye shouted and stood up as she followed the running raccoon.
It run so fast but it was nothing compared to the woman who suddenly grabbed it from the back of it's neck when it came towards her direction.
The raccoon is squeaking as she carefully took the bracelet off on it's grasp.
"Violet?"
The brunette slowly turned towards the direction of the voice while still holding the racoon and the bracelet from her other hand.
She greeted by the surprised reaction of her mate. Skye look her up and down with a creased on her forehead. She probably wonder why her clothes are seem wet as well as her hair.
Violet immediately let the raccoon go before she heard Skye speak again.
"What are you doing here?" She asked.
Violet didn't say anything and just stared at her. It took her a while before she give the silver bracelet that she successfully took from the raccoon back to her mate.
Skye took it from her and their hands barely touched.
"Thanks." Skye muttered.
Violet just turned around and go without saying anything. Her face still remained calm and stoic.
"Hey wait up." Skye stood in front of her. Blocking her way and stopping her from her tracks.
"Why do you always avoid me everytime I talk to you?" she said, a little frustrated and sad. She somehow felt guilty about it.
"Because there is nothing we should talk about." was Violet's reply before she step aside and walk ahead , leaving Skye behind.
"Well there is." Skye said as she followed the brunette. "Isn't it quite amusing to you that everytime we met, it was always in an unexpected situation." she added, a little bit intrigued.
Violet didn't replied back to her but she didn't stop talking.
"Did you receive my peace offering? I asked Abby to give it to you. I hope you have accepted it." Skye said , trying to catched up with her.
"I have."
Skye instantly smiled when Violet replied. She then block Violet's way again.
"Then how was it.?" she asked, seemingly excited to know what she would say.
Violet sighed from their close proximity, she had a hard time keeping herself still. Most especially, her inner wolf. She gathered her strength before she speaks.
"Good." was her short reply. But for Skye, it was enough to hear.
Violet step aside to walk ahead but Skye surprisingly took a step aside too and block her way again. And Violet clenched her jaw because of her mate's stubbornness.
"You know what, we already met four times already but I still haven't formally Introduced myself to you yet. I'm Skye Anderson by the way. You can call me Skye." her mate said offering her hand for a shake.
She had a sweet smile on her face and Violet's heart melted because of it. She tried to remained calm and stoic despite of it.
"You already know me." was her reply.
"Skye!"
The two woman suddenly turned their heads towards the direction of the voice.
Vanessa hurriedly came beside Skye and talked to her. Not even noticing the other person. "Where did you go? I was just talking with Mom on the phone and then you're gone." she worriedly asked.
"I'm sorry. A raccoon stole my bracelet." Skye replied as she showed her bracelet on her hand. "I had to follow it before it disappeared on my sight."
"Okay." Vanessa said as she nodded her head. She subconsciously grabbed Skye's hand and hold it still."Let's go back then. " she added.
Their intertwined hands caught the attention of the quiet Alpha in front of them. She intentionally cleared her throat and their heads turned towards her.
"Violet?" Vanessa muttered in disbelief. Then she turned to Skye, looking at her questioningly. The latter nodded at her with timid smile.
"Vanessa, it's good to see you again." Violet said in her calm demeanor but she's actually raging inside, unamused to what she was seeing now.
"You knew each other?" Skye suddenly asked looking back and forth at them. And just realized something..
"Oh , I almost forgot that you were friends with Levi, that's why." she added while nodding her head a little.
"It's good to see you too, Violet." Vanessa said in a serious face. Not even smiling a little at her. She didn't know what's the deal with this two now, knowing what happened the other day at the diner. But it looks like Violet was not upset at all. That's a good thing.
"Excuse us, but we need to go now." she said afterwards before she turned to look at Skye. "Let's go?" she asked her, pulling her hand for them to go.
Violet clenched her jaw and tried to look away from it. Sighing and crossing her arms as she do so.
"But-"
"My dad is already looking for me, Skye. I shouldn't leave you alone remember? Maddison will get mad at me." Vanessa said cutting off her sentence.
Skye took a glanced at Violet before she nodded at Vanessa. "I hope to see you again, Violet." was all she said before Vanessa pulled her away.
Violet let go of the frustrated sighed she kept the entire time. Her pupils dilated as she tried to calm herself down. She rarely feel jealous, but when she felt it, it's like she's gonna explode like bomb.
