"Is it true what I just saw outside?!"
Violet didn't even lifted her head from her paper works when her Bestfriend entered her office. She just continued what she was doing even when the ginger head woman walks towards her table, wearing a white soft silk blouse and fitted jeans. Her black stiletto were creating a noise on the floor as she walks through.
When Abby finally got close to her table, she immediately put down the rectangular aluminum lunch box she brought for the brunette. my
"I'm done eating." Violet said without even looking at her Bestfriend direction, still busy in her work. "I already ask Allison to buy me lunch cause you took so long." she added. Even she said it calmly, Abby can still picked up her annoyance.
Abby sat down on one of the chairs in front of her and face her. "Why the heck is your mate outside?" she asked, ignoring what Violet just said to her, and just looked at her incredulously.
The brunette just sighed and closed the folder that contains an important files of her company. She then cleaned up her desk and her belongings before she stood up.
"I'm already done. Let's go." she said nonchalantly, still ignoring the other woman in the room.
"Don't just leave me hanging. I need an explanation." she heard Abby said as she open the door but she didn't replied and wait for her to walk out.
She was already on the end of the hallway when Abby got out on her office and catched up with her. Violet open the back door and immediately got out.
"Good afternoon, maam." one of their maintenance greeted her when she happened to see him outside. And she just replied a nod back at him.
Violet immediately spotted Abby's car at the back parking lot. She walk towards it as she heard Abby talked to the maintenance who just greeted her and gave him the lunch Abby brought for her.
Violet hop on the driver's seat instead on the passenger's. She placed her mini bag down on the car's dashboard and started the engine.
Abby hurriedly walk back to her car and get in. And when she closed the car's door, she quickly turned to her Alpha's direction and crossed her arms, glaring at her way. Violet ignored her and just drive the car out from the parking lot. They took two turns on the right before they finally reached the front parking lot.
Her eyes automatically landed at the direction of the waiting shed where her mate was waiting. But it looks like the girl had a companion.
Violet raised her eyebrow at the man in a suit who was currently talking to her mate. She knew him. His name is Frederick, one of her employees and the marketing manager of her marketing team. He is actually excellent on his work but what Violet didn't like about the man is him being a womanizer. He would flirt every woman he like at anytime and at any chance he could get. But then, he is wise enough to not bring that behavior to his work so Violet don't have a reason to fire him. But maybe now she will.
Abby knew that her Bestfriend doesn't like what she was seeing now in this moment. But she didn't say anything at all and just look ahead, surprisingly with a lopsided grin etched on her face.
Violet was driving rather slowly as she look at the two. Her blood started to boiled when Frederick said his name and offered his hand out to shake. Although her mate was clearly uncomfortable, she still did the same. Maybe because she doesn't want to be rude to him.
The hand shake took a little longer to Violet's liking though. And she can't bear seeing it so she stop the car abruptly. The ginger head at the passenger seat just glanced at her way with a questionable look.
Their car was already at the open gates but Violet was able to maneuver the car back to the parking lot. Where she chose to temporarily parked it just one block away from the waiting shed. Where she can still saw the two were talking.
"Don't go out." Violet said, directly at Abby while staring daggers at her employee.
"Oh. So we just pulled back and parked here so you can just watched her then?" Her Bestfriend asked sarcastically as she crossed her arms. "I thought you'd help her." she added.
The brunette ignored her Bestfriend and sighed. It took a minute of silence when she suddenly took her phone out from her mini bag and dialed Frederick's number.
It rang, but it seemed that Frederick's phone is not with him because he is still talking to the auburn haired girl rather than picking up his phone.
Violet dialed his number again, hoping that he would picked up. But when she did, she heard a phone ringing from their right, three meters away from them. It looks like Frederick left it to his car. That moron.
"Really, Vee? That's what are you gonna do?" Abby said, glaring at her. And Violet just sat there quietly, ignoring her.
"You know , you need to go out there and take her away from that man before she gets more uncomfortable." Abby told her, also aware of the man's behaviors.
Deep down, that is what Violet wanted to do. Her protectiveness and possessiveness were on it's higher level, she is itching to do something. But then she can't, because it will just gave her mate a chance to see her again. And that is what she was trying to avoid since they met.
"Fine. If you won't, then I will." Abby said when Violet didn't replied back. She eventually opened the car door and got out.
"What are you doing?!" Violet hissed at her as she stood there outside.
Abby just sighed and rolled her eyes at her bestfriend. She took a glanced at the two person at the shed before she bent over to the car and replied back to Violet.
"Saving your mate's ass from him." She said as she hold the car's door still.
"No, you won't. Come back here now." she said in a stern voice and growled after. Others may think it looks like a threat but for Abby, it was just normal.
"You may command me all you want and I will gladly do so. But I can't just sit here and do nothing while that girl is having a hard time." Abby said to her and the latter just huffed.
"And don't worry, she didn't know me. So you have nothing to worry about." she added before she carefully close the car's door and fixes herself before she walk towards the two.
Frederick was so Invested on talking to her Alpha's mate that he didn't even noticed that she's approaching.
"Hey Fred!" she called when she was already near.
The man turned her head towards her direction as well as the auburn haired girl. There was a creased formed in his forehead but he smiled afterwards when he recognized the face of the person who called him.
"Miss Abigail." he greeted, subtly checking her out as she walk through.
Abby grimaced at him and cleared her throat to get his attention.
"Is your work done?" Abby asked when she reached them, raising her eyebrow at him.
Frederick smirked and said. "Yeah. I'm going home now." he then glanced at the girl sitting beside him, who was just quietly listening to their conversation.
"Then why does your boss looking for you then.?" Abby said and then the man with combed slick black hair quickly turned his head on her, looking at her questioningly.
"I'm sorry?" he said.
"I said if you're work is done, why does your boss still looking for you." Abby said it with emphasis now. So he would clearly understand.
The man immediately stood up and said. "She is?"
"Yeah. I don't know why but I advice you to go to her now before she gets mad looking for you."
Frederick quickly went off after he said his flirtatious goodbyes at the two. And then the auburn haired girl and sighed when the man left.
Abby turned to face her and smiled.
"Hi." she said.
The girl looked at her and said. "Hi." with a timid smile.
"I've never seen you here before. Are you a new employee?" she gently asked as she slowly and gracefully walked towards and sat down beside her, crossing her legs.
'What are doing?!' Violet asked her using their link.
Abby turned to look towards the direction of their parked car and replied. 'Relaxed. I just want to talk to her a bit. She looks bored.' squinting her eyes from afar.
"No, I don't work here." She heard the girl replied and laughed a little. "I'm just waiting for someone." she added. Her uncomfortable look a while ago Instantly replaced by calm and bright face.
"Ohh. I wonder who that someone be." Abby said, taking a quick glanced at their Alpha's direction.
"You probably know her. Since she's the owner of this company."
Abby's ear slightly move when she heard it from the girl. It caught her full attention and she turned to face her entirely.
'Stop it. Come back here now.' She heard it said by Violet but she ignores her and continue to asked the girl.
"Are you talking about Violet Adams." she asked carefully and the girl's cheek turned a pale pink by the mention of the name.
"Yeah." she replied and nodded.
"Did you two met already?" she quickly asked afterwards. Eager to know the information about them.
"Yeah." the girl shortly replied.
"Ah okay." Abby said and smile knowingly.
'Come back here!'
"What is that?" Abby asked, pertaining to box that was on the bench just beside the girl, still ignoring her Bestfriend.
Skye turned around and look at what she is pointing.
"Ah that. It's chocolate muffins." she answered.
"You bought those?"
"No. My sister made it." Skye said it still smiling. She doesn't know why but she instantly grew comfortable talking with the woman. "I put them in the box cause I wanted to give it to her for a peace offering."
"You mean Violet? " Abby asked raising her eyebrow at her.
"Yeah, yeah." She replied while nodding.
"And for a peace offering? Why, what happened?" she asked her, fully invested.
Skye opened her mouth but closed it again and just laughed a little. " It's a long story." she said.
Abby just nodded and said. "Ah okay." before she turned to look at the strangely quiet Alpha in the car.
'I definitely need an explanation about it later, Vee.' she said using their link.
"That's so sweet of you. That must be delicious." Abby commented afterwards.
"Yeah, it is." Skye shortly replied.
"How long have you been here waiting?" the ginger head asked her .
"Since nine in the morning." Skye shyly replied.
"That long?" she said incredulously and subtly glared at the Violet from the distance.
"Yeah. But it's okay, I can wait." Skye replied still a bright smile in her innocent face.
Abby like her already. She's nice and polite. And gorgeous too.
"I think you should go home now." Abby gently said." I forgot to say she's already left. I'm sorry." she added.
It caught Skye's attention. She then turned and look at the parking lot and saw Violet's car was still there.
"I thought she's still here. That's her car, isn't it?" she said, pointing at Violet's car.
"Yeah." Abby replied while nodding."But her friend fetch her, I think." she quickly added.
"Oh." Skye said, with a saddened look. "how unfortunate." she commented.
"You're still lucky though." Abby quickly said with a bright smile. And Skye looked at her confusedly.
"Cause she happens to be my best friend."
