Skye was tossing and turning on her bed for a ninth time now. It was already pass 12 midnight but she still can't fall asleep as her thoughts keep coming back to the conversation she had with Piper. The girl was right. Maddison looked happy staying here and she even said it is safe for them. Maybe she really did felt safe here. Skye felt awful when she remembered her sister saddened face earlier. **************** ( Thursday l 10:43am) Skye turned to look at the her room's half opened door when Maddie came in and knock. She sat up straight and put her small tub of ice cream down on her nightstand when Maddie walk in with a sullen face and sat on her bed. And Skye just looked at her from doing so. Maddison took a deep breath before she turned to face Skye and talk. "I already talk to Levi." she said and Skye was intently listening to her. "And he agreed." "What about your wedding?" Skye asked warily. "We'll change the venue." was Maddie's reply. "What about the house?" Skye asked again. It took a while for Maddie to talk but Skye was patiently waiting still. "I'll think about it. But for now, I need to go and talk with Levi's parents." Maddie said before she took and held her little sister hand. "Can you wait till Saturday though? Cause I still need to run some errands. I need to clear all of it before we leave. Is that's okay with you?" she asked. Skye felt like she's a little kid again on how Maddie talk to her. "Yeah." was her only response. "Okay." Maddie said. "I made some tuna sandwich for you by the way. It's in the kitchen, in case you'll get hungry. I'll go for now." Maddie said before she gave a quick kiss on her forehead. ************ Skye sighed as she stared on the ceiling of her room as she recalled it. When she turned to her right side again, the photo frame that was placed on her nightstand caught her attention. It was a picture of her and Maddison when they were just kids. Maddison was carrying her on her back. The young Skye had some mud on her hands, arms and knees. Maddie had some on her clothes and neck too since Skye was holding unto her. But even though they were full of muds, there was still a bright smile on their faces. And their Mother who was looking at them dearly, captured their precious moment. Then it became her favorite picture of them. She was only five back then but she still remembered the story behind the picture. It was Sunday afternoon and their mom took them on the park. She was running around with a cone of ice cream on her hand. She's trying to catch one of the birds that were peacefully eating some bird seeds on the ground with her other hand. She was so invested on running when she accidentally step on a slippery mud and she fell on her knees. The ice cream she was holding spilled on the ground. She stood up crying with mud on her hands knees and feet. They were some on her clothes too. When their mom heard her cries, she immediately came towards her and check her. Fortunately, she has no wound or scratches. But her knees were hurt and her ice cream was gone. Their mom wiped the mud on Skye's hands using her handkerchief and tried to lighten up her mood, saying that it was okay.. Then a young Maddison came towards them and asked what happened. "I fell." The five year old Skye replied, still crying. "And my ice cream is gone." she added, looking sadly at her spilled ice cream on the ground. "Don't worry Skye, we'll just buy again. Right, mom? " Young Maddison said turning to her mom. And she nodded at them with a smile. "But I can't walk, my knees hurt." Young Skye said crying louder. "Shhh, it's okay. What if I will give a you a piggy back ride. Is that okay?" Young Maddison asked with a bright smile. And young Skye instantly nodded. " But you need to stop crying first. Or else I won't carry you." she added and young Skye immediately stop her cries. And that's how they get that picture. That's what she likes about Maddie. She always brighten up her mood everytime she's sad or feeling down. She always considerate about her feelings but then here she was, not even thinking about what her sister's feeling right now. "How could you." she scolded herself. Ever since she was born, Maddison was always been a good sister to her. They barely fight. And if they fought, Maddie was the one who always saying sorry first. And did everything to make up with her. Maddison always did the best thing for her. Even though Maddison left her to study, she was still in contact with her. She bet that Maddison will surely comfort her if she just told her about how she emotionally struggled on her sexuality back then. Skye slowly sat up on her bed and took the photo frame carefully. She just caress it for a while before putting it back down. When she did, she saw the other photo frame on her nightstand and she took it. It's a picture of her mom hugging the young Maddison on her back. Maddison was about 3 years old back then. The time where her mother still hadn't met her father and it's just the two of them. Skye gets emotional seeing the picture of her mom. A tear fell on her eye but she quickly wipe it. Her sister's father was gone and so does their mother. So the only family her sister had left now was only her. But then here she was, torturing her feelings. Skye felt guilty about it. Maybe it's time to actually listen to what Piper had said to her. She doesn't care about the wolf anymore. She just wanted to make her sister happy. "Oh f**k it." Skye muttered and put the picture back down. She stood up and got out on her room and walk towards Maddison's. She took a deep breath when she's on her door and carefully knock. "Maddie?" She called softly. Not entirely sure if she was still awake. But then there was no response. "Maddie ?" she called again but there was still no response so she tried to carefully open the door and it was unlock. She opened it a little wider and peek inside. It was dark so she turn on the switch just beside the door frame. The room was lighten up but there was no sign of Maddie. So she just carefully close the door and slowly walk on the hallway. 'Maybe she's in the kitchen.' she thought while walking downstairs. She then headed to the kitchen but stop herself when she saw Maddie on the living room when she passed by. She was sitting on the sofa while typing something on her laptop that was placed on her lap. "Maddie." Skye called her and Maddison immediately turned to look at her. "Skye." Maddie said as she took away the eyeglasses that she was currently wearing. "Why are you still awake ?" She asked, and carefully placed her laptop down to the center table. " Did you had a bad dream?' she added, with a worried face. Skye shook her head a little indicating a No. "I just wanted to say something." Skye started as she just standing up beside the sofa. Didn't dare to sit down beside Maddie. "What is it?' Maddie asked, with a little creased on her forehead. "You can stay here." Skye muttered. "What?" Maddie asked her not entirely sure what she said. "You can stay here. You don't have to leave with me." Skye repeated, a little louder. She then bowed her head and sighed."I'm sorry I was selfish. I know it makes you happy staying here but I'm pushing you away. You don't have to leave just because I wanted too." She added and Maddison just listened to her intently. "If you feel safe here then you can stay, Maddie. And as long as you want." "Skye." Maddie softly called. That's when Skye lifted her head and look at her sister. "Are you sure?" she asked, seeking for clarity on her. And Skye nodded slowly. "What about you?" Maddie asked again, turning her body to face her completely this time. "Don't worry about me. I can leave alone and live by myself. I'm not a child anymore, Maddie." Skye said laughing a little. But Maddison just look at her seriously. "But you're still my sister." Maddie said firmly. "I know, Maddie." Skye replied and pursing her lips. Maddison sighed. "Are you really gonna leave?" she asked. Hoping that her sister could stay for a little longer. "Yes, of course." Skye said. "But don't worry, I'll stick to the plan. I will stay here till your wedding. If that's still okay with you." She added, looking warily at Maddison. "What are you talking about. Of course it is. You can stay here anytime, Skye." Maddie said, and it brought a smile to Skye's face. "Thank you." she added and gave her a smile too. Skye can see tears forming in her eyes. She then came towards her and hugged her. "I love you , Maddie." she said. "Oh Skye. I love you too." Maddison replied hugging her tightly. When they pulled away from the embrace, Maddison is already crying. "Maddie, don't cry please. " Skye said to her. "I'm sorry, I'm just happy." Maddie replied, laughing a little as she wipe her tears. And it made Skye laugh too. "I should tell Levi." Maddie said and took her phone on the center table and dialed Levi's number. "Is he still awake though?" Skye asked her and stood up from the sofa. "Probably not. But he won't missed a call from me." Maddie replied with a grin on her face. "Ugh. So in love. Disgusting. " Skye said, grabbing the pillow on the sofa and throw it on Maddie and hurriedly took off. "Hey.!" She heard Maddie shouted as she run back towards her room.
