Chapter 29(1): Close to you

The rays of light were slowly disappeared as the sun was completely covered up by the clouds. The weather in Southern Vale today wasn't cooperating on their search. The sun came out earlier after the rain and now it looks like it will rain again as the sky seems getting dark.

Two huge form running and strolling around in the far northeast for almost four hours now but the person they were searching was still nowhere to be found. One of them had hopes half way through the search when she catches a faint smell of her lingering on the air. It was very faint but she was certain it was the scent of the person they were trying to find.

Vanessa lead the search, carefully walking ahead. Her wolf form had greyish fur and buffy black markings on the upper part of her body. Behind her was her twin brother Dean. Although they are twins and look something alike, in their wolf form, they were completely different. Dean's fur was all black. He may look menace in that color but he looks majestic as his fur look like it shines..

His head raised to the sky when it sounds. The clouds are forming and it's about to rain again. The scent they were following will dissipate and they will be clueless and will have no direct path.

"Van?" He called her sister out using their link when the light sound of thunder was heard again.

The she wolf didn't bothered to look back at her brother and just continued. She had been very focus since the beginning of the search. He knows her sister was a type of person who never gives up but she hadn't seen her this persistent.

"Van?" he called again.

"I think she went this way." was her reply and faced the direction towards the upper part of the mountain.

Dean immediately stop and look up. He tried to catch Skye's scent from the direction and infact there was. But he had doubts following it cause it seems questionable. The way up can be hard for a person to go. Locals had a hard time going up there let alone the girl who didn't grew up in the mountains.

He wanted to stop her sister but Vanessa's was so hard to convince. She is as stubborn as he was sometimes. He just silently followed when she runs ahead.

But it took only a couple of minutes when they heard laughters. It looks like they were two persons. Dean immediately halted followed by Vanessa. The sound came towards ahead the path they were taking. They cower down trying to cover their form on some tall plants while cautiously wait. Luckily, the two headed to their right. They were about ten meters away but the twins can her them clearly. They waited for them to go further enough before Vanessa move again.

"Vanessa." Dean called her in a firm voice. Hinting her that they should retreat back. Those two humans might have companions and the last thing he wanted was them to be seen on their wolf.

"If you want to go back, you can." Vanessa quickly replied before she runs ahead. She didn't wait for him to said anything. And the soon to be Alpha had no choice but to follow her sister.
