Dominic: It's been hours since this battle started. We made a perimeter surrounding the pack house there hadn't been any fangers coming at us for a few minutes now. Edith and Isaac stood there daggers in hand, covered in blood, they hadn't shifted once. We're all trying to catch our breath. I could feel the aches all over my body. Bruises and bites. "I can't believe you would fucken drug me, b***h," Sam's voice rang across the silence. "Shut up, Sam," Edith growled without looking over at her sister. Sam stopped looking around the mess Edith and Isaac had made. She didn't say a word as cautiously joined Edith's side. Two figures began to make their way towards them. Whoever they were they're powerful. Edith put away her swords taking a step towards the edge of the forest. Sam reached for her and we all understood why Edith didn't want her here to begin with. "Edithian, you've been very naughty, my dear," The shine of the moon revealed the other Fanger. This one wasn't a f**k head former. This is a Lamia. A born vampire. Not royal but definitely a bureaucrat. The other figure is the Succubus. The one my mate and her friends all call mother. "Let us go. I'll stop," Edith answered. "How many more do I have to kill for you to understand you can't have her," "Come take a walk with me, Edith. We can settle this calmly. Cassian doesn't know any better. She's not a leader she's a soldier," I looked between the two women and then back at Edith. There is no f*****g way I'm going to let my mate go with her. "Why should I trust you?" That's my girl. "She isn't going anywhere," Isaac said. Before anyone could react much less see it coming. The woman pulled out a gun and shot Isaac in the head. Sasha let out a shriek and ran towards him. Another shot was fired and Sasha was on the floor next to him. I growled stepping forward. "Stay where you are," Edith called out coldly. "He's the reason why you ever left the base. f*****g him was always your downfall, baby girl. I can give less f***s if the girl comes with us sweetheart. I want you. If I can't have you no one can," "I'm not a pet, Amara. I'm a wolf. A very dominant wolf. You may be the last living Sterling but I wouldn't hesitate to kill you, b***h. I've told you that before," "Is that your final answer?" Edith nodded. "I expected so much more from you, Edithian. You held so much promise and you're throwing it all away. For what? A domesticated life of a luna? That's not going to be enough for you," "f**k you," Edith growled. Two shots were fired when Edith stepped forward. I had been watching the vampire expecting her to be the one to attack but she wasn't the one who fired. I ran towards my mate shifting back into my skin before she hit the floor. "Baby?" fear laced my voice as I gently set her down on the ground. "Ow," she breathed out looking down at the blood soaking through her white shirt. "E?" Sam came over to us. She fell on her knees next us holding her chest. "No, E. You can't die. Don't let go. Don't leave me," "Baby, don't. I need you. You can't leave me," I rushed out in a panic. Knowing the reason why Sam was holding her chest. They may not bound twins but they still hold a really strong connection. "I'm sorry," Edith whispered reaching for my face. I grabbed her hand and put it against my cheek. "Samm let her take me," "No. E I don't want you gone," Sam cried. Elijah came over for some sort of comfort. Edith's body twitched. "I promised," she let out reaching for Sam. "Always," "No!" she shouted making me jump. "No! She's gone," Sam reached over grabbing onto Edith's face and placing her forehead to hers. She began to cry hysterically at the loss of their connection. She shook Edith's body trying to bring her back. My chest clenched, my body vibrating with anger, my wolf wants out. Other wolves began to surround us in human form geared with military machine guns. Elijah pulled Sam away from the body. He struggled as she kicked and cried out of her sister. I shifted completely giving into my wolf's demands. Sam joined me the two of us looked down at the body one last time. Before I could charge at the vampire, Sam slammed her body into me both of fighting the pain that washed over us. She's pushing me away from them. My mate lied there on the ground dead. Four wolves came over and surrounded the body. The succubus picked up my Edith. My wolf wanted to kill all of them but Sam wouldn't let me. She's strong and her grief made her stronger. I growled pushing back against her but she wouldn't stop. Elijah joined her. The two of them pushed me back as I tried to get to those who took her from me. One wolf, he glanced over at me with sympathy as he picked her up and tossed her lifeless body over his shoulder. I growled pushing against Sam and Elijah. They took her. She's gone. There is nothing left. I looked into Sam's eyes for some kind of answer but they stared back at me just as lost. My wolf pulled back making me shift back into my skin unwillingly. Elijah tried to hand me something to cover up with. I smacked his hand away from me. "She's gone," I choked out. "She's gone," I fell to my knees clenching my hands into the earth each breath I took in a reminder of everything I lost in a split second. Each breath shattering my very existence into millions of irreparable pieces. My chest getting tighter and tighter with each intake. My vision blurring with angry and pain filled tears. "She wanted to stay. She was going to stay," I whispered to no one in particular. I stood up and sprinted after them. My wolf didn't voice an opinion or even make an effort to push my body with his speed. She's gone. he finally said. His voice surprised me. I tumbled to the floor looking up ahead to see that they were gone. No trace of them left. All I want to do was scream hoping for some sort of death so that I could follow her into the next life. "Edith," I called out into the empty darkness up ahead. I repeated her a little louder. The third time I shouted with all of my might and continued to scream her name at the top of my lungs until the pain began to overpower me surrounding me with drowning darkness. My legs gave out under me. I hadn't noticed I had started running again. I shut my eyes and I saw her She had that same smirk I learned to love in just a few hours. "I want to stay," her lips moved. "I need you," I answered her. She grinned her eyes lighting up the way they did this morning. She turned her back to me. "Don't," "I want to stay, but I can't," I called after again but she just continued to walk away before I let the heaviness of the dark crash down around me.
