CAILEAN'S POV
"Take off your clothes." I blinked twice after hearing Dylan's words. Is he out of his freaking mind? Does he want to do it now? Here out in the open?
"Dy, I don't think this is the right time to..." I didn't even get the chance to finish my sentence when Dylan burst out laughing.
"What's so funny?!" I snarled, annoyed with his reaction.
"Nothing." He said, trying to stifle a laugh. I pushed him from the chest, but he didn't even budge, which made me more frustrated.
"Sorry, Cai. I never imagined that you would think that..."
"Stop! Just stop!" I ordered before I completely sank from embarrassment. I don't want to hear it coming out of his mouth.
"Hey. Don't let a simple misunderstanding annoy you." He said, stroking my cheek with his thumb.
"I would love to take you right now. You have no idea how much I wanted you, but that's not my purpose." He continued. His eyes were boring into mine, and staring at his captivating grey orbs makes my whole body weak, and I just want to melt in his arms and stay there forever. But all the cheesy feelings have been replaced with fear and worry after hearing his next statement.
"I want you to shift to your wolf only this time you will decide for yourself, not your wolf. You must learn how to dominate your wolf, not the other way around. If you let your wolf take over completely, you will lose your human side and will end up like the feral rogues, and it's not easy to go back once everything goes south." My jaw dropped, hearing Dylan's explanation, and my eyes were like saucers as I began to picture myself as a feral wolf. Adding to it, the anxiety about going through the same pain again. Sensing my fear, Dylan secures me around his arms.
"I'm not trying to scare you, just stating facts. And that is why I'm here, my love. To help you and guide you to the right path. Trust me; I will never let that happen to you. Ok?" He sincerely said while hugging me and buried my face against the comfort of his solid chest.
"Ok. I trust you." I told him and looked up to meet his gaze and kissed him.
"Let's take off our clothes and get ready to shift," Dylan said after our brief kiss and gave him a nod of agreement. We pulled from each other and began stripping, leaving nothing behind.
"God! This is so awkward!" I mumbled as I removed the last piece of my clothing, then I looked at Dylan. He doesn't look bothered at all with nudity. His expression is entirely normal.
"Like what you see?" He smirked, which made me realize that I was gawking at him. "Nice one Cailean, good job in humiliating yourself," I uttered to myself. But instead of denying it, I thought it would be best if I'll just admit it. He is my fiancé anyway, so what if I'm staring at his perfect naked body!
"I don't like it. I love it." I said, making it sound as seductive as possible.
"Well, lucky you because this body is all yours." He grinned.
"Are you ready?" He added.
"I'm ready!" I said confidently.
"You have to feel the connection with your wolf. That you and your wolf are one being. Call for her. Again call for her, don't wait for her to come out first. You are the one in control, not her. Understood?" He said.
"Understood," I acknowledged.
"Good. Now, concentrate and try to shift." He instructed, and I obeyed without needing to be told twice.
I closed my eyes and started summoning my wolf. I can feel the surge of power growing inside me as my wolf began to surface.
"You want me to take over?" My wolf offered.
"No, this time, I am ordering you to come out," I told her; then I felt my bones start to realign and the sound of snapping bones filling my ears. I dropped to my knees from the excruciating pain, but just like last time, I swallowed all the cries that I've been holding, not wanting Dylan to see me weak. I stayed in my position until the last moment of shifting and got amazed by my accomplishment. I did it with me in control. Now, I'm standing in four paws, staring at Dylan, still in his human form.
"Good job, my love," Dylan proudly said in the mind link and buried his face in the crook of my neck, enjoying the feeling of my fur brushing against his skin. He remained like that for a while before he decided to shift.
"I've been dreaming for this day to come, you and me, side by side, both in wolf forms." He said through our mind link, and satisfaction is evident in his tone. Then, he nuzzled up against me, and I reciprocated his every action. It feels so good to feel his wolf against mine. And a jolt of electricity flows all over my body when he starts licking my face. I couldn't find a word to explain my emotions. I think no word can explain it at all. This is beyond bliss!
"Dreams do come true for those who believe," I finally replied as I recovered from the pleasure Dylan's wolf was giving me.
"Ready to run?" He asked and positioned himself, ready to sprint.
"I'm ready," I answered.
"We will run as long as you can. Then, it's your call whenever you want to stop." He said. Dylan is amazing. He never takes my opinion for granted. He always respects the way I feel and what I have to say.
"Got it. Let's go!" I said and dashed off into the wood without giving Dylan a heads-up. I smiled in my mind and looked behind to see where Dylan was, but he was nowhere to be found, which brought me to a screeching halt. My paws burned from the friction but not painful enough to bother me.
"Where is he?" I asked myself, and with my instinct, I started sniffing the air and caught his woodsy scent. Being in wolf form heightens my sense of smell, and I took advantage of that to follow the scent's direction. I continued to move forward, and after I believed a mile, I found Dylan hiding behind the tree. He was already ahead of me!
"How come you're already here?" I asked in surprise.
"I'm incredibly fast, my love, and you will be. Just be patient. Great move, by the way. For using your senses to find me. It looks like teaching you will not be that hard because you already have it in you." He said, again proudly, and hearing his complementing words made me feel proud of myself too.
We continued running, side by side, this time. We are running as if we owned the world. Then, I told him that we had enough running for today and raced back to the lake, so we did.
Dylan is extremely fast. There's no way I can beat him in a fair race. He stopped when he reached the tree where we left our clothes. I am at least fifty meters away from him. He shifted to his human form, and so did I, and I got surprised at how easy it was for me to do it.
I smiled as I slowly approached Dylan, then suddenly, I felt dizzy, and the world around me started spinning. I stopped and stared at Dylan, who is now a few meters away. He was smiling at me, so I smiled back, not wanting to show him that I felt sick. I was able to take a couple of strides before I fell to the ground. Lying flat on my back, I saw Dylan's face hovering, and that's the last thing I remember seeing before everything went black.
