Chapter Ten

1099 Words
It's been weeks since I've last spent time with Trent. No, he hasn't been ignoring me or anything like that but he hasn't been touching me either. We haven't kissed again since the morning we slept over and I'm starting to lose my mind. Noticing that he hasn't been hanging around that many girls since I brought it up, I was pleased. I did say that many. Now he was always mainly around one. She was a year younger than us, blond (as always), with hazel eyes... his type... I stared from my lunch table over at them. One minute he has me blushing like crazy and the next I want to cut his d**k off. I breath, and laugh to myself. Ashlee's anger had seriously rubbed off on me when we were just becoming friends. I was a timid shy girl who would let people look down on me. I kept to myself, afraid that people would judge me because of my parents. Ashlee didn't, she understood in her own way. I miss her. Trent's eyes met mine from across the lunch room and his lips pulled up into a smile. I looked down at my lunch and smiled to myself. I couldn't expect him to drop his friends and hang out with me constantly, could I? What status was our relationship anyways? Sean's lips on my cheek pulled me out of my head. I looked up and saw him and Xavier sat on both sides of me. "What's your plans for tomorrow?" He asked as he pulled my lunch away from me. "What's tomorrow?" "Valentine's day... have you been living under a rock?" "I don't celebrate that" I murmured "Why? never had a man?" Xavier smiled. I rolled my eyes at him. "Exactly. It's stupid anyways" "Aren't you being a little bit bitter?" Sean questioned as he chewed. "Besides, this year you have Trent" Xavier chuckled "Let's not get carried away. I haven't spoken to him in days, all he does is smile my way... and plus he has someone else" "Trust issues much" Sean spat "Whatever, Leigh. I'll be your valentine. It'll be so good, you'll c*m in your panties" I laughed "Okay, suit yourself". I didn't really hate Valentines day, it only made me feel lonely and jealous when other people got candy and cards, and I got nothing. "I don't think that's a smart thing to do... Trent tents to be possessive" Xavier warned. "Yeah, with his girls maybe... I'm not his type" Xavier placed a lose strand of hair behind me ears "If you say so" "What are you doing for Ashlee tomorrow?" I smiled at him. "Nothing" He said looking away "Are you joking? You're joking! Tell me I won't say anything to her." Xavier snorted and then rose from his seat joining Trent across the room. Moments later Trent's eyes were on mine again. He rose from his chair and signaled me to come to him using his finger. Hesitantly, I met him in the corner of the Cafeteria. He wore a plain black t-shirt over dark pants and high-top Jordan sneakers. My mouth went dry. I came face to face with his captivating eyes. "Something wrong?" His hands were in his pocket as he leaned against the wall with his right shoulder. "Other than you not talking to me? No everything is fine" I managed to say through cracked voice His lips pressed in a straight line for a brief second. "Do you want me to say hi to you every time I see you in the halls Leigh?" His tone was flat, as if asking a rhetorical question. "...and touch me" I whispered, keeping my eyes to the ground. I heard his sigh and I looked up into his eyes "What are you doing tomorrow?" "Are you asking me out?" He asked, smirking down at me. "No, just wondering if you had anything special planned..." "I have work tomorrow" "That's not what I'm asking... It's alright... nevermind" "Leigh" He sighed but I was already back at my table. "I thought you weren't into Trent. Now you guys are having private heated conversations as if you're lovers" Jessie accused, her voice dripping with jealousy. I ignored her. She didn't know what she was talking about. Everything went on as usual including him sitting across the room from me in business class. When I got home I just wanted to do my homework and lie in my bed. "Leigh" my mom called. "Hey" I said as I entered into the kitchen. She had her hair in curlers, her eyebrows were waxed and her nails were done... something was up. I could feel it. Her caramel skin was flawless, her chocolate brown eyes glimmering. "I need you to babysit Nathan tomorrow" "Okay, but why?" I pushed. I had no problem watching Nate, but where was she going? "I have a date" she said nervously. I smiled, finally! After twenty years she was finally moving on from my father. I won't have to worry about him coming by anymore, he would stay home with his real wife and kids. "Yeah, no, go out. Spread your wings. I'll be home early." "It's only in the evening so that's not really necessary. Thank you sweetheart" "No problem" I hugged her and ran up to my room to call Ashlee. She answered on the third ring. "What?" "Is that how you answer your phone?" "No, it's how I answer you" she laughed "I'm just kidding. I'm waiting on Avie to call me." "Who's that?" "Seriously Leigh? Xavier... Avie... keep up girl" "Awe, cute. Anyhow, My mom has a date tomorrow" "You're acting like you're going along with her" she laughed "tell her to have fun" "Are you trying to get me off the phone?" "You can't take a hint?" she laughed "Kiss my ass." I laughed back "So how are things between you and Channing Tatum?" she asked I laughed "confusing." "It's obvious he has a thing for you, Leigh. He's just trying to keep a distance between you two because he's scared of getting too close to any girl. Why do you think he has so many? You never think!" "Says you and I think plenty, plenty." "Says Xavier. He tells me everything" I could hear the smile in her voice "Mhh" I smiled "You're just jealous. Stop being a jealous Hoe, Leigh... I gotta go, my booboo is calling me. Miss you" "You too" then she was gone. I threw my phone on the bed and laid still with my eyes shut for hours.
