"Chelsea, where have you been?" Alpha Chelsea stopped in her tracks as she heard her mother's voice, Luna Carol behind her. "I had been looking everywhere for you," Luna continued as she walked up to her daughter. It was just the two of them in the hallway and Alpha Chelsea was on her way to her room to get ready. What she wasn't ready for was to get an earful from her mother. "Maybe you should have checked the one place where I am always more likely to be in," Alpha Chelsea replied. "Not the training room," the prissy-looking Luna scrunched up her nose in disgust. She hated sweat and its smell. "And why aren't you getting ready for your ball, miss? It is almost six and you know our guests, one of whom is going to be your mate, will soon be here and I can't have them seeing you like this." Luna Carol scorned, as she twirled her newly made hair with her finger. "I just wanted to give you a hug Mom," Alpha Chelsea spread her arms and went to give her mother a hug. She knew how her mother hated that, and right now, she was using that to chase her away. "What? No, don't you dare!" the Luna staggered back. "I am not going to take another shower because of you," "But it is only a hug Mom," Alpha Chelsea insisted with a mischievous smile as she walked towards her mother while the Luna took another step back. "No, it's not the same with all that body fluid and the smell is going to mess up with my thinking. Just go away." "Okay, I will leave then," Alpha Chelsea turned and started to walk away, glad that she would not be getting lectured today. Luna Carol made sure that there was now a distance between them and she was no longer under the threat of getting hugged before saying, "Alana will soon be here to do your hair. Make sure you are ready in an hour," Alpha Chelsea heard her and groaned. "I can hear you, you know," Luna Carol said. * As soon as she was inside her room, Alpha Chelsea went straight to the bathroom where she stripped and started to take a shower. She had just gotten out of the shower with a towel on when the hairstylist, Alana, came into the room with her equipment and Alpha Chelsea greeted her with a smile. Alana was a hybrid between a witch and a werewolf. "Ready for your big day, Alpha?" Allana smiled back as she started setting her equipment on the dressing mirror. She had been Alpha Chelsea's hairstylist for three years and the two naturally became friends. "More than anything," Chelsea sighed. As much as she wanted to feel excited, she still felt nervous. "Yeah I can see that," Alana remarked. "I will just put some clothes on and we can start." "Sure." Chelsea went inside her walk-in closet and came out three minutes later in black leggings and a blue tank top. She sat on the stool in front of the dressing mirror while Alana plugged in the hand dryer, and soon she started drying Chelsea's hair. "Is there anything you want in particular? Are we going to make it straight, or straight with a bit of curls, style it or just leave it in its curls?" Alana suggested. "I think I will go for a new look today," Alpha Chelsea stated. She had always preferred to leave her hair in its natural form. But straightening it today didn't sound like a bad idea. "Finally," Alana smiled. Most of the time it took Chelsea a longer time to decide, only to end up choosing the same thing again. "Who do you think it's going to be?" Alana asked as she started doing her hair. "Huh?" Alpha Chelsea said, confused. "Your mate. Who do you think it's going to be?" "I don't know," Alpha Chelsea shrugged. "Who do you think?" "Hmmm," Alana thought for a while. "How about Alpha Rodney?" "What? No. He is like 30 years old and sleeps with anything he can get his hands on," Chelsea cringed and Alana laughed. "Okay, what about Beta Reed of the Violet Wind Pack? He is an eye candy." "Not my type," Alpha Chelsea shook her head. "And Alpha Cobain? I know you had a crush on him once," Alana suggested, just as she finished drying Chelsea's hair. "Okay, that one's not a bad idea," The Alpha smiled, thinking of him. Alana reached for the hair comb on the dressing mirror to take it when Chelsea noticed the ink stains on her hand. "You were in the library today?" Chelsea commented. "Uhm yes," Alana hesitated with her answer. "Were you trying to master some spells?" Chelsea asked. Alana had grabbed a fistful of the Alpha's hair and was about to start combing it. She stopped and sighed. She knew that the alpha would keep asking till she got the truth. "I was researching about the Gretch forest," she admitted. Chelsea grimaced at the mention of the Gretch forest, remembering three years ago when she first met Alana. Alpha Chelsea was only eighteen at the time, and like every one else in the pack, she was curious about the Gretch Forest, which her parents had warned her of several times. Gretch forest was a place parents used to scare their kids with its stories to keep them in line. It was said that the forest smelt like blood and death and that no one that ever went in came out alive. Chelsea and her best friend, the Beta's son, Xander, chose not to believe that. So when Xander dared her in a game of truth and dare in the middle of the night to go to the forest and spend at least five minutes in the forest, Chelsea felt challenged and sneaked out of her house to go there. But as soon as she crossed the fence and stepped foot into the forbidden forest, she realized most of the stories about the forest were true. Or at least most of it. The entire forest was covered in mist, the trees were so tall that when she raised her head, she couldn't see their end while the ground was covered in dark earth. Chelsea walked further into the forest, feeling as if she was being watched. It was so quiet, as if she was the only living creature in it. Just then, Chelsea looked ahead and thought she saw the silhouette of some one running away and hiding behind one of the large trees. "HELLO?" she said. "HELLO?" "Hello?" " Hello?" her voice echoed around her. She was starting to think it was just her imagination when she heard the snap of a branch where she thought she had seen someone and decided to check it. Her suspicion was confirmed, because as she got closer to the tree, whoever it was that was hiding behind it started running away and further into the forest. "Hey, whoever you are, stop right there!" Chelsea shouted and ran after the person, being careful not to run into the trees. Being an Alpha herself, she soon caught up with the girl. She was surprised when she saw the girl on the ground. Chelsea realized the girl had tripped and fell down while running. The reader quickly sat up, her back facing the alpha. Chelsea crouched down beside the red head and saw that she was holding her arm and wincing in pain. Chelsea knew from the girl's scent that she was a member of her pack. "Hey, who are you? Did you hurt your arm when you fell..." Chelsea started to say as she extended her hand to touch the girl's shoulder, but she quickly retracted her arm when she felt a searing pain. Chelsea looked at her arm and gasped when she saw a gash, as if someone had used a knife to cut her arm, which was now spotting a deep wound, blood dripping from it. Chelsea stood up, staring at the wound in surprise. She looked around but it was just the two of them. "What is going on?" Chelsea gasped. Her wound was already starting to heal since she had alpha blood. But that wasn't the case for the read head. The read head turned to look at Chelsea with teary eyes. "I think the forest is attacking us," she stated. "What? But how cou..." Chelsea didn't get to finish her sentence as she felt another searing pain in her leg. She looked down and there was another wound forming on her leg. The redhead let out a piercing scream of agony. When Chelsea looked at her, there was another wound on her other arm and her shirt was getting stained with blood. Meaning she had been cut on her abdomen. "Come on, we have to leave now," Chelsea panicked. She helped the read head stand up. The girl could barely stand up. She was losing a lot of blood and her wound wasn't healing fast enough. Chelsea knew then the girl must be an omega. As soon as the girl was on her feet, with Chelsea supporting her, while ignoring her own wounds and focusing on the girl, the girl's leg buckled, and when they both looked down, there was another wound on the girl's leg. "I can't walk, the girl uttered." "I guess we will have to do this the knight way." Chelsea said, and without hesitating, used her strength to carry the girl in her arms. She quickly started walking out of the forest as fast as she could. When the forest fence came into view, they both felt safe, but Chelsea knew she had to rush the barely conscious girl to the hospital. "What is your name?" Chelsea asked the girl, whose breathing was ragged. While Chelsea was already healing, the girl was still losing blood. "Allana," the girl managed to say, already starting to pale. "Nice name," Chelsea commented. She finally crossed the fence but stopped in her tracks when she saw the crowd in front of them, with Xander being one of them.
