Her eyes widened in horror.
"Oh no! The forest must be attacking." she panicked as she started to rush in the direction he went.
Alpha Chelsea followed the direction he went with the help of his scent, hoping the forest wouldn't have done any real damage before she got there.
She reached a small clearing where his scent got stronger, but there weren't anymore trails of Peter?
"Where are you?" she shouted, looking around.
"Up here!" Peter stated a little awkwardly. She followed his voice to find him hanging from a tree by his leg.
His feet were tied to a rope which hung from the branch of a large tree to be precise.
"How did you get up there?" Alpha Chelsea asked Peter, who was now struggling to reach up to his leg to grab the rope and try to free himself, but with each attempt the rope made him swing.
"I don't know," he grumbled at another failed attempt.
"Just hang in there, I'm coming," Alpha Chelsea assured her mate.
"No thanks but I got it," Peter said stubbornly.
"Look, let's just forget whatever happened and focus on getting back home," Alpha Chelsea said as her gaze followed the branch to which he was tied.
All she had to do was climb up the tree and untie the rope.
"I am fine on my own," Peter insisted as Alpha Chelsea started walking towards the tree.
"Yeah I can see that Ahhhhh," Alpha Chelsea ended her sentence with a yelp as she fell victim to another trap. A dug trench which was smartly covered with grass.
"Alpha are you," Peter stuttered. "Are you alright?" He called out, fear evident in his voice.
"I am fine," Alpha Chelsea winced while struggling to sit down. The hole was deep and had wooden spikes put around it.
It was the second time she had fallen inside a hole in less than twenty-four hours and she wasn't very happy about that. And this time she wounded her arm and leg.
"Okay," Peter replied. Alpha Chelsea looked at the injury on her arm and started removing the dirt on it before it healed.
"Is this why it is forbidden to enter the Gretch forest?" Peter called out. The alpha was quiet and it was his way of making sure she was alright.
"No," she replied, and Peter found himself sighing in relief. "I don't think this is the forest attacking us. This is clearly a booby trap set by someone," she stated, just then realizing something.
"But for what?" Peter asked the most important question.
"Uh oh," Alpha Chelsea heard him say, so she quickly stood up.
"Hey what's up?" she asked.
"Um, Alpha? We have company."
*
Five strangers appeared out of nowhere, red paint on their faces.
Two men holding spears and three women with daggers. Four had blonde hair except the other guy who had very dark hair. Their skin was very tanned.
The expression on their faces told Peter they weren't all too friendly.
One of them, a woman, swiftly climbed the tree and untied the rope from the branch and Peter fell to the ground with a thud. He sat up rubbing his back and groaning in pain.
One of the women peeked into the hole, saw Alpha Chelsea and extended a hand to her. Alpha Chelsea was hesitant at first, but then she grabbed the woman's hand and she pulled her out.
Alpha Chelsea noticed that her wounds had started to heal. She looked at Peter, who stood up and was now dusting his pants, and the five people, one of whom had pulled her out.
"Who are you guys and why..." she started to ask the strangers who didn't seem to want to introduce themselves.
"You don't get to ask any questions," one of the women interrupted her harshly.
"You have been caught trespassing on the Greenery Pride lands. You are hereby under arrest," the blonde-haired guy stated.
Alpha Chelsea did not fail to notice their accent, but had no idea where they belonged.
"Trespassing," She said in disbelief. "We don't even know where we are,"
"We will take you to the Queen and she will be the one to decide your fate," the black-haired guy added menacingly.
"My ma..." Alpha Chelsea cleared her throat. "This boy and I are not going anywhere with you. Just give us a map or show us the way back to the Dark Forest pack and we will be on our way."
Peter's mouth twitched after she referred to him as a boy.
"We will not take any nonsense from you!"the black-haired guy warned, raising his spear at her and the others followed suit, raising their weapons.
Peter felt scared to the bone.
"So it's either you follow us or we make you," one of the women gritted.
Alpha Chelsea clenched her fists, feeling herself boil with anger at the disrespect. She was an Alpha and others answered to her, not the other way around.
"We will follow you on your terms," Peter raised his hands in surrender, his voice shivering.
Alpha Chelsea looked at him in disbelief. How could he surrender so soon? And without a fight.
Peter sized up the burly men and fierce-looking women in front of them. He knew there was no way he could fight any of them and win, so he winked at the Alpha, who thought he had a plan and decided to play along.
"Okay then, we are all yours," she whistled, letting her anger diffuse.
The group put the two in front of them and ushered them, not so friendly with their weapons in hand and mean looks on their faces.
Alpha Chelsea and Peter quietly started walking. Peter was glad they didn't have to face the wrath of the group.
Alpha Chelsea quickly took a glance back at the group.
"Keep moving!" one of the women boomed at her.
"Okay, okay!" Alpha Chelsea rolled her eyes. She then stole a glance at Peter. Being an omega, she knew he wouldn't be able to do much. She assumed him to be two inches shorter than her 5 feet 11 inches height.
She had no idea what his plan was when he winked at her, but it didn't matter.
'Hey,' she tried to mind link him. She realized it worked when Peter raised his eyebrows at her.
'I have a better plan,' she told him.
'Better what?' Peter replied, confused by what she meant. He looked at the smug look on her face and realised what she meant.
'Wait...' he started to say, but Alpha Chelsea continued.
'There are five of them and I can tell they are not werewolves,'
'What are you trying to do?' he started to grow anxious.
'Distract two of them while I take down three at once and we can finish the rest together,' she explained.
'Wait, no what?!' Peter exclaimed, shocked. But Alpha Chelsea didn't wait to listen.
'In one, two, three,'
Just as she counted to three, she turned and tackled the black-haired man to the ground, taking him off guard.
She punched his jaw and felt satisfied at the sound of his bones cracking. Peter stood there stunned. Everything happened in a second as she stood up, ready to take on the next person, but the group of warriors quickly snapped out of their shocked state, and the last thing Alpha Chelsea felt was a sharp pain to her neck before everything went black.
