It didn't take long for the group of warriors to take down the Alpha.
Peter helplessly watched in horror as she fell to the ground. The had struck her on the neck, a move that could only be achieved by experts.
He quickly rushed to her side and knelt beside her.
"Oh no, Alpha!" he called out, shaking his head. She was unconscious and looked like she was sleeping.
"Get up Adiel," the blonde-haired guy who had struck the alpha said to the black-haired guy, rubbing his jaw. He had blood on his lips.
"Looks like we underestimated them," Adiel said, getting to his feet.
Seeing how easy it was to take down his mate, Peter didn't complain as they tied his arms, tied Alpha Chelsea's hands and legs and Adiel bundled her on his shoulder to the Greenery pride.
*
Slowly, Alpha Chelsea started to open her eyes as she regained consciousness. Her neck hurt where she was struck.
"Alpha, are you okay?" Peter asked, concern evident in his voice.
He had been watching her sleep the whole time they were brought into the prison and put in different cages, one next to the other.
The cages were small that one could only sit inside them without stretching their legs.
"Where are we?" she asked, sitting up and looking around her. The place was dim with a little window through which the sunlight shone on the place.
"The Greenery pride," he replied.
"How long have I been out?" she asked, noticing that her hands were tied with chains. So were his.
"About an hour I guess," he answered her question.
"Guess I underestimated them," she sighed.
"Yeah," Peter said with a tight smile, enjoying the small talk. Now was his chance to look at his beautiful mate. He no longer felt angry with her.
"If only you had followed up with my plan, then we wouldn't be here in the first place," she looked at him with a scowl on her face.
"What plan?" Peter frowned.
"To take them down, what else?" Alpha Chelsea couldn't help but snap at him.
Peter's mouth opened in surprise.
"You mean that stupid plan?" He glared at her. "What chance did we have against a group of five warriors?"
"We had every chance until you decided to freeze instead of fight." Alpha Chelsea retorted angrily. This was her first time in captivity and she felt as if she had wasted all those years she spent training. She could imagine the look of disdain on Gamma Niel's face if he were to ever hear of this.
"You were going to get us killed!" he ended up shouting at her.
"I was trying to save us!" she shouted back.
"Yeah, right," Peter clicked his tongue. "Like the way you tried to save me from committing suicide and we ended up here?" He goaded her. Alpha Chelsea felt attacked.
"Last time I checked, you took the risk of climbing on that well, omega. But oh right, I forgot you were an omega and the only thing you are good at is serving us higher-ranking wolves,"
Peter gasped at her hurtful words. The pain in his eyes made Alpha Chelsea want to take her words back. But Peter squinted and turned his back to her.
While Alpha Chelsea felt unfortunate that she got a weak mate, he felt angry to be stuck with her. He knew in the first place that she was out of his league, so he blamed his self for having even the slightest hope.
"She is awake!" one of the prison guards hollered.
A minute later, Adiel and two other female warriors arrived. The females were holding spears pointed towards Alpha Chelsea's cage. They understood that she was the only threat they had to worry about.
"What are you going to do with us?" she asked Adiel as he squatted in front of her cage.
"No more tricks woman," was the only thing he said as he started to unlock her cage.
"Whatever," she rolled her eyes at him. Just then she noticed that his face looked fine. Not a scratch, and she wondered how she wasn't able to inflict any injury when she hit him. She would have sworn that she saw blood coming out of his lips before everything went dark.
Once out of the cage, Chelsea raised her arms. All of a sudden, the female warriors raised their spears at her and growled.
"Since when was stretching not allowed?" Chelsea raised her hands in surrender.
"Our prisoners do not have that privilege, hence the cages," Adiel smirked as he unlocked Peter's cage.
"Oh," Chelsea nodded at the barbaric act. She couldn't imagine having to spend a day there.
As they were led out of the prison, Alpha Chelsea looked at the sun and guessed the time to be around 2pm. But she was still confused as to where they were. As they walked, all she could see were trees.
Peter, on the other hand, had on a frown and refused to look at her.
They kept walking through the trees until they came to a huge clearing and stopped.
Chelsea and Peter looked around them.
The clearing wasn't empty. It had a lot of people standing around, men and women who observed them with keen eyes.
In front of them stood a tall cave.
"Tell the Queen the prisoners are here," Adiel said, and a man with snow-white hair nodded and went inside the cave.
Chelsea and Peter wondered what sort of queen lived in a cave. A minute later, a very beautiful and slender woman with blonde hair that didn't reach her shoulders walked out.
The two stared in awe at the woman. They had never seen anyone walk like that, as if she was being careful not to touch the earth. She had monolid shaped eyes and her pupils were brown.
Suddenly, all the men and women bowed their heads to her, but the woman had her eyes set on the two strangers who refused to bow.
Chelsea couldn't help but wonder more what this place was until two leopards and a lynx came out of the cave and stood beside the Queen. A black panther jumped off the tree and went towards the Queen to also stand beside her.
The wheels started to turn in Chelsea and Peter's head.
Everything started making sense. The name of the place has Pride in it, Adiel's wound that has already healed, the aura and the different cats present.
Somehow, they had gotten themselves into a werecats territory.
"Move!" one of the female warriors ordered them. They both moved hesitantly till they stood in front of the queen. They could feel a very strong aura coming off her.
"Bow to the queen, now!" the other female warrior barked at them.
"Emmarentia," the Queen said smoothly, raising her hand to stop the female warrior.
Emmarentia bowed her head, understanding her queen's orders.
"Adiel," the Queen turned to him.
"Your eminence," he bowed his head once more.
The Queen turned her gaze back to the two captives.
"I see you brought us a peculiar type of food today. Definitely not an everyday thing. Tonight's dinner is going to be special." She smirked as the two captives' eyes widened.
