Breakdown to Nonna

{Margo’s POV} I closed the door and slid down it, I couldn’t control when my emotions reacted this way. I couldn’t control my stress, and it was causing problems. I pulled my knees to my chest and sighed heavily. Soon a soft knock came to my door, it was my Nonna Franny. “Honey, can I come in?” She asked. I moved slightly from my place allowing her to step inside. She shut the door behind her and looked down at me. “Hello Nonna..” I whispered softly. “Oh honey..” she said sitting down in front of me and raising my head so I’d look at her. “Your poor eyes.. though I’m sure whoever did this got a proper thrashing!” She said, smiling at me. “You’re so tiny.. your father.. he won’t really talk about what happened to you.” She sighed. “I’ll be honest, I was shocked when I saw how small you are, but you seem to be hiding a lot of pain my dear. It’s not good to hide such things, you need to feel it all to heal at all.” She pet my head softly. I cried, wiping my eyes. “Nonna.. it was awful!” I whimpered. “I was left in a closet for so many years.. I was tormented, and hurt.. starved, and beaten! Nonna.. when am I going to stop feeling this way inside? I can’t look at myself without hating what I see! I can’t breathe half the time, and I’m always so afraid to say anything wrong!” I sobbed hugging her. She cried, pulling me into her arms. “Margo.. I’m so sorry!” She cried harder. “We looked for you for so long! Hired the police departments best detectives, and even many private detectives. Your brothers all trained in ways to track you down, eventually..” she whimpered. “We thought that you were gone, just like my Anna!” She cried. “Nonna.. I hurt every day.. but not so much on the outside anymore.” I cried, pulling her closer to me. “I just want to feel normal, I want people to stop hurting me!” I whimpered, “I just can’t stand it anymore..” Suddenly Nonna Maria came into the room. “My poor bambina!” She cried pulling me into a hug. “Your father told me where you were, I came up here and heard everything you just said! My sweet girl, let us have a look at you. Let us see what was done. I know some of the best plastic surgeons in the world, they may be able to help.” She said, standing me and Nonna Franny up. I whimpered. “Are you sure? It’s awful.. I can’t stand to see it..” “We can handle it, we’ve seen your uncles, brothers, father, and our husbands come home with wounds. Even stitched a few up over the years, so let us see!” She said, pointing to my wet dress. I nodded, pulling it off and dropping it to the floor. Once I did, they both gasped as they took in the scars on my stomachs and my back. “Oh my little bambina, who could ever do this to someone as sweet as you!” Nonna Franny cried, pulling me to her and engulfing me in a hug. Nonna Maria sighed.. “There may be one person who could help.. but I could tell you now, they won’t be able to fix all of them.” She said, tracing over a couple of my thicker scars. “But..” she said. I lifted my head, looking at her with urgency. “But?” I asked. “I may know someone who could help cover them.. with tattoos.” She said, looking over me. “She’s the best at what she does, and she specializes in covering up scars. I’m sure she could help you!” She smiled. Tattoos, why didn’t I think of that. I never really wanted any, but if they could cover up my scars.. then I would love to get them. “Please Nonna!” I said looking up to her. “Please call her!” I begged. She nodded, and turned towards the door. “I’ll go call her now, I’ll get her here today, and we’ll figure out what we can do.” She said, leaving the room while pulling out her phone. Nonna Franny turned to me, and touched my face lightly. “Tattoos normally aren’t my favorite thing, but Mi Amore, I love flowers, and bees.. if you could incorporate some, I would be most honored, and very happy to see when they get done!” She said with a smile. “Of course Nonna, I’ve always loved flowers! I’ll make sure my tattoos are beautiful!” I smiled back, pulling her into a hug. I turned into my room and decided to pull out some more clothes and underwear to change into. “I’m going to get dressed Nonna, I’ll be right down..” I said softly, she nodded turning and making her way out of the room. I walked to the bathroom and washed off in the shower quickly, getting rid of all of the chlorine. Then I got out wrapping my robe around me and covering back up my black eyes with makeup. I walked back into my room and pulled out a white sundress, it bunched at my waist then flared, flowing down past my knees. It had a sweetheart neckline, and spaghetti straps. I grabbed some lacy white panties and bra and got dressed quickly. I grabbed a pair of white flats that had a ribbon that tied up my legs and walked back into my bathroom, scrunching my hair up so that way my curls would lay nicely, then I made my way out to the the hall and down the stairs. I felt much better now, and I couldn’t wait to discuss the possibility of getting my new tattoos soon! I made my way to the kitchen and pulled out some strawberry wine from the cabinet and poured myself a glass. I carefully slid the bottle back, and sipped on my wine as I sat at the kitchen island alone. This was exactly what I needed, to sip some wine after a stressful day, and allow myself to dream. I just hope that Nonna Maria’s tattoo artist knew what she was doing, and could actually hide my scars.
