ZANE'S POV
We went out of the Cave, and I advised all the workers to close for the day until the mage is able to visit and purify the entire area and use magic to guard the place. The mage was coming from the crystal ball pack.
I remained quiet in the car as we drove back home.
"I don't think that was the witches doing, and you know that," Roshan broke the silence, and I leaned back in my seat.
"As much as i would love to disagree with you, I can't, because it is true, there is more the witch is not telling us," I added.
My phone rang in my pocket, and I pulled it out. It was the manager. I asked him to go to the mortuary with the driver, and he had to compensate the deceased family.
"How did it go?" I asked.
"The families are here, but one of them refused compensation. Apparently, he was the sole provider for the family. If they took that now, how would they survive when it finishes?" He questioned.
"The royal court will be responsible for them. Please take them to the east mansion, where the Elders reside. I would handle the rest of it later," I said before I ended the call.
"I think we should pay the witch a visit," Aiden suggested.
"Hm, well, we don't have a choice, really." I watched as Aiden leaned over and caught the driver's attention.
He inputted his instructions before the driver changed course, and we all buckled up to visit the royal witch. Her abode wasn't off our property. We placed her somewhere in the east. The place was half abandoned, so it was easy for her to work efficiently.
In less than an hour, we arrived at the Witches Base, and some of the guards that were placed there tried to stop the car, but Roshan opened the window, and he stared at him with his Alpha's eyes.
The guards immediately came to their feet as they let us past. I scoffed at his act, and I saw a smirk on Aiden's face.
"What?" Roshan questioned.
"You could have released your energy. They would have taken the hint."
"You and i both know you are the only one who is perfect at releasing energy," Roshan directed at me.
The driver parked the car, and I went down first before the others followed me. I reached the door, and before I could place a knock, it was wide open.
She is aware of our presence.
We moved deeper into the mansion, and I noticed a very pungent smell coming from another room, but I ignored it. It was my business. We just came here to ask her questions.
In the middle of the main area was her largest working space. She was there, dressed in a short lace dress. Her white hair was packed up in a bun, and she was deep into her work. The entire architecture of this place was gothic, and it was lit up with white lights from above and red lights from below, but it was sufficient regardless.
Some of the apprentices clapped their hands as she poured some solution into the large bowl.
"Now!" She clasped her hands together, "Would one of my Alpha like to try this potion?" She asked.
"What type of potion is that? Sinatra," Aiden asked. He was a fan of most of her potions. They always worked well, I can even testify to that.
She raised her fingers up, and the apprentices scattered around, disappearing back to their rooms or to go do whatever chores they had to do.
"Fair skin, luscious hair, beautiful nails, you aren't particularly lacking in any of those, perhaps you would like to give it your mate instead?" She questioned.
"News has gotten this far?" I asked.
"It is a small world, is it not?" She chuckled before she walked past us, and we had no choice but to follow her. She snapped her fingers, and we were now in the sunroom. Outside, I could see Wolf's Bane and I few herbal plants.
To normal wolves, wolves, and was lethal but not enough to kill you unless you consumed a lot. To an Alpha, it was like a drug that made you high. It was illegal in some packs.
"So what is it you wanted to talk about that you had to coke from work to this place," She asked as she leaned back.
The sun hit her perfectly carved face, and she now had her white hair down. The sun, one of her eyes, only made the amber more lively.
When Roshan was born, he took after our mother's features. She was half a witch, half a wolf. A very rare hybrid considering the fact that witches can not birth. Because they had to sacrifice their womb for power.
"Here," I handed her the obsidian, and her eyes almost popped out of the socket.
"This thin—" She stopped halfway as her eyes rolled back and only the white remained. She jerked out of the chair, and I jumped to hold her back from jumping out of the room. She would sustain injuries if she jumped this high.
"Beware! Because your wife is in danger! The disappearance of the box will not bring a lot of good fortune!" She started to mutter some things in a foreign language, and we tried to take her out.
Roshan rushed to her side. He cut her finger, and he placed the blood in her mouth before she suddenly returned.
Aiden helped her close, and I fixed the chair so she could sit properly.
"How did you know how to do that?" She questioned Roshan.
"I have visions sometimes, but most of the time I am half conscious, it was by accident that I found out I could stop it," they mentioned.
"What type of visions do you see?" She questioned before we released her from our hold.
"Destruction, a girl bringing Destruction all because of her mates. I have never paid attention to them before."
"You need to put your mate under close inspection. She might be dangerous “
