ASTRID'S POV
I woke up sore, sore as hell. The other side of the bed had a faint smell of Zane earlier, so it seemed he slept in for a whole. I mean, any normal wolf should be knocked out from such an intense night.
They left early today due to some work they had to do, but Aiden gave me instructions. They all agreed I could leave the house with an escort and a car, of course. At least now I wasn't stuck to this house alone all day till the day I got pregnant and pooped a baby.
I found a pink floral dress from my wardrobe, I dismissed Sienna because she said she had a terrible stomach ache. I let my hair fall, and i found a scarf and some sunglasses. Sienna recommended I use them, i found it strange, but damn the girl was always right every time.
I stepped out of the house after breakfast, and the guard and the driver were already waiting for me in the car. I noticed a man walking away from the cat with a black bag in his hands. I wonder who he could be. As I arrived close to the door, I noticed a hundred dollar bill on the floor.
I grabbed it, and I looked at the direction at which the man had gone, but he was no longer there.
"It seems he fell his money down," I said to the driver whose window was open.
"Ah no, that is for the guard," He said, and I noticed an envelope filled with money between them. The guard was allos sotting with him at the front. I handed the money over to them. The cars door automatically opened, and I got in.
I let out a deep sigh as I got into the car. It would have been uncomfortable if the guard decided to sit with me at the back, I removed my shades and I placed it on my head.
As we drove out of the mansion, I noticed flash lights and reporters coming our way. All of a sudden, they started clicking their cameras and taking pictures of me.
"Are you the new Mate of the Alphas?!" A man yelled as he placed the camera inside the car. The open window didn't help at all.
"How do you feel living in the same room with the deceased mate room? Is it true that this might just be a marriage of agreement, and you might not be their mate? Does that explain why you haven't been revealed yet?" The kept pestering with questions, and I found the button, but it was jammed.
It was like a swarm of people ahead of us, and they kept trying to put in their devices, I shifted a bit away from the window so as to not get injured by an unsuspecting recorder.
I quickly moved the sunglasses back on my face, and finally, the car started moving, and the window finally rolled up. I let out a deep breath as I leaned back on the seat.
"Oh my, please remind me to never get into this car or leave the window open!" I cried out in frustration.
"We are very sorry, your grace, Please do not mention this to their Highnesses, " They pleaded, and I simply brushed it off.
It's not like they were going to ask me about my day either.
"Are you guys also going to stop at the bank?" I asked as my eyes caught the envelope again.
"You caught on pretty quick," the driver chuckled.
"I can't abandon you, can i? You wanted a drive around, i will give you," He said.
That meant I was stopping him from going to do his day activities.
"If we could stop by, near a safe place or restaurant or park, i wouldn't mind really mind, it's just a quick trip, right?" I asked.
"Yes Ma'am, it is, i promise i wouldn't take long," He replied excitedly.
I stared out the closed windows, and it dawned on me that this pack was beautiful, the architecture of everything was beautiful, a blend of modern and medieval a true classic.
But I soon lost myself as I thought back to the questions the journalist and reporters were asking earlier.
I did agree it was just an agreement at first, but I still turned to be their true mate. That still didn't mean they couldn't introduce me to the entire pack. After all, I was their Luna.
I bit my lips, and I fiddled with my clothes as I stared outside, lost in thought.
"Your grace, we have arrived, " The driver pulled me out of my thoughts, and I looked outside a window to see a sophisticated building before me.
"The museum, trust those pesky reporters wouldn't reach you here, please have fun," He smiled at me.
The door opened up again, and I stepped out with the guard beside me. My glasses were on my eyes, and I fixed the scarf on my head.
"You don't have the extra sun glasses. Just act like we are friends, so no attention would be caught," I said, and he removed the sunglasses he had on. I tucked in the transmitters in his ears, and he pulled off his jacket.
He rolled up his sleeves, and he removed his tie before he placed it back in his car.
"Natural enough, your grace?" He asked, and I nodded.
"And Astrid instead, it will be better that way, and what should i call you?" I said.
We walked into the museum together, and I was mesmerised by the beauty. Large, extremely detailed statues of gold were carved at the beginning, and the museum was divided into four main sections, and inside each at its own sections, too. It was a huge place. I didn't even know where to start.
"Perharps, we could glance at the fossils? I heard the bones of the first ever hybrid were kept here. She requested it before she died. " He asked, and I nodded immediately
We walked down the first section, and I fed my hungry eyes. At the end of it, the fossils stood still, and a visual representation was created with a hologram. She looked beautiful. Moreover, she had long red hair in the hologram.
"She was what type of hybrid combination? I can't se—"
I was stopped halfway by the loud sound that came from behind. My heart jumped in my chest, and Ray grabbed me closer.
"What is going on?" I asked as I was starting to panic.
"Rogues!" I heard a shriek from outside, and my heart sunk in my chest.
