Ryder's P.O.V.
It's almost afternoon, but Keira was still unconscious. Nurses came thrice, took her vitals, and told me that she will wake up soon. It was a long night. I have bags under my eyes due to that sleepless night. I want to close them for a short while but feared that I might sleep deeply. Kyle came again a few minutes before. I sent him home last night so that he can rest well.
"Why don't you go and take some rest and a good shower. U need this now", asked Kyle with concern.
"I want to, but I want to make sure she is alright, which she doesn't look at", I said to him.
"I am going to take something to eat for you. Do you want to talk to the doctor about her before she wakes up?" asked Kyle while standing.
I really forgot to meet the doctor after our interaction last night. I also received a call from my father and I told him about Keira. He was too concerned but advised me to be careful. He doesn't know anything about me being an assassin.
"I think I should meet him first. Please stay with her here. I don't think leaving her alone will be a good idea", I requested Kyle.
He nodded in agreement and sat on a stool beside her bed and gently took her hand in his hand. I wanted him to stop for taking her hand in his but resisted myself. I wondered why I am feeling like this.
I left the room and headed towards the treating doctor's room.
Kyle's P.O.V.
I was sitting holding her hand in my hand. It's a weird feeling of guilt to not able to protect her from that assault. The information that I gathered till now is indicating in only one direction. She was kept hidden for most of her childhood. Though she was an orphan and there is no record or any trace to find out her parents, but she is something in deep s**t that can cost her life too. I have no fear for my life. I am trained for this. But when I spoke with her in the afternoon and felt an urge to protect her. I secretly placed a bug in her bag, through which I can hear her voice. That's why I know something happened when I heard her scream. I had searched the whole area CCTV network, but it's weird that the assassins vanished in the thin air. There is no trace of them when they ran back around the corner. I tucked a strand of hair flickering on her face behind her ear. I leaned close to her face and watch her pale but peaceful face.
"Who are you Keira", I asked her though I know that I will not get any answer. I need to dig deeper to get my all answers. It's my first case which is getting complicated step by step.
But I want her to be safe. Suddenly I remembered about her bracelet to which I had attached the bug. I quickly inspected her wrist. It was missing. I quickly opened the patient drawer and searched for the same but it was nowhere. I quickly opened my phone and run the clipping again. The bracelet was not on her wrist when they attacked her.
"What are you doing", I jumped instantly hearing Ryder's voice. He came quickly towards me and looked curiously at me.
"I placed a bug on her bracelet in the afternoon and her bracelet is missing. It was with her when they attacked her as I heard her scream, but not on her wrist. So, it must be in her bag which they have taken with them", I answered Ryder.
After that, I again showed him the CCTV footage of the incident. We both looked at each other and I smirked. I know what I need to do.
