“Nessa! Nessa!”
My head aches as Nicholas keeps shaking me. He sat above me looking worried. When I finally got my focus back and sat up his face was a mask of relief. My head started throbbing in the back. Reaching a hand to feel the damage, I wince from the hard knot that had form there.
“Careful, don’t push too hard on it.” He says.
“What happened?” I croak out. It felt like I hadn’t used my voice in ages. My throat felt dry and unused.
“You fainted.”
I look to the kid with confusion. “I fainted?”
“Yeah, one moment you were storming out of here and the next you just…fainted.” He shrugs, like he was just as confused as I was.
“You hit your head pretty hard on the ground. No one was near you to catch your fall. Sorry about that.” He looked a bit apologetic.
