My brother pushes between us in a protective way, narrowing his eyes at the guy. “I thought you knew better, Perrie,” he says as he turns around to face me. I take a deep breath, already meaning to explain the situation, when Jackson just has to open his mouth. “What’s the big deal? She can’t even dance with someone anymore or what?” he asks, making Aiden’s face fall. He turns around, his hands clenched into fists. He clearly isn’t in the mood to be dealing with Jackson’s nosiness. “Stay the hell out of this if you want to keep your face intact,” my brother snaps at him, making me gulp nervously. I grab Aiden’s hand, not wanting him to do something he might regret. “Aiden, it’s fine. I felt sorry for him because he got stood up by his date. And I didn’t know how else to pass the time,”
