Chapter 4
Clement instructed his bodyguards to remain at the lobby and climbed up the emergency stairs to the sixth floor the moment he arrived outside of the apartment building where Kyle lived. There were actually a couple of elevators, but one was out of order. The other one was already on its way up by the time he entered the lobby of the apartment building. He didn’t want to waste time waiting for the elevator. Besides, Kyle was only five floors above him. It would be so much faster and efficient for him to take the stairs, and he wasn’t wrong. By the time he made it to the sixth floor, he noticed the single working elevator was still on its way up, and he had a strong feeling it would continue all the way to the highest level, which happened to be the twenty-fifth floor.
