chapter 7 explaining the mate bond

Alexa's P.O.V

When I woke up there was something heavy on me, I turned and looked to see Nick's arm was lying across me. Well at least he somewhat stayed on his side, I thought chuckling to myself. I tried to move his arm as gently as I could so I didn't wake him, I was in a rush and had to use the bathroom. When I successfully moved his arm without waking him, I got out of bed and rushed to the bathroom. When I was done, I was a little confused on how to flush it, I looked on top and there were two buttons, so I decided to press one and the toilet flushed. I looked at the shower and once I finally figured out how to turn it on and get the temperature right, I took the long shirt off and stepped in the shower. I just wanted to feel clean and the water felt so nice as it ran down my body, I loved to wash my hair and it always made me feel refreshed. I washed my hair and body a few times and when I was done, I took the towel, dried myself and my hair off, then put the long shirt back on.

I walked back into the bedroom and Nick was still sound asleep, so I sat back on the bed and got the remote to turn the TV on. I wasn't sure how to change the channels, but I soon figured it out and started watching the animal planet channel and something called The Zoo. I sat back watching and twenty minutes into the show I felt movement on the bed and felt a hand reaching for me. I softly giggled as his hand searched for me and playfully moved my leg when his hand almost touched me. I thought for a moment and placed the remote down on the bed, his hand grabbed the remote, but upon realizing it wasn't me he let go and I couldn't help but start laughing. he set up in bed smirking,

"You think that's funny don't you?" Nick said, sitting up in bed and smirking at me, I nodded yes and he reached over to tickle me. I quickly moved, falling off the bed and started laughing so hard that I started to hiccup. he looked down on the floor laughing,

"What are you doing down there?" Nick said, looking down at me on the floor and laughing. I laughed and got up from the floor, it's been a long time since I was able to laugh like this. I grabbed his arm pulling him off the bed and he landed on the floor, making me laugh even harder. He jumped up, grabbing me and holding me tightly, inhaling my scent and I did the same to him, but then he pulled away and patted the bed, waiting for me to sit down. I looked at him and sat down, but I was scared and didn't know what I did wrong. Was I in trouble? What's going to happen to her?

Alpha Nick's P.O.V

We were having so much fun, especially when she pulled me onto the floor and I heard her laughing. I loved the way she laughed, I knew she was playing with me when I reached for her, she must have thought i was sleeping, but I was already awake. I laid there smelling her scent and listening to her whispering 'awww what a cutie' at the TV, but when I held her tight against me and smelled her scent, I got hard as a rock and had to pull away, I didn't want to scare her. I knew I had to tell her about the mate bond and I guessed now was as good a time as any. I was looking over at her and she nervously smiled, she was scared to the point that she was almost in tears. he softly said,

"Calm down Alexa, you have done nothing wrong. It's ok honey, I'm not mad." I spoke softly and she nodded, sitting there, waiting for me to talk.

"You wanted to know what mates are, am I correct?" I asked her and she nodded yes. I took a deep breath and looked right at her.

"Mates are soulmates that the Moon Goddess gives us. It's like there is no one else for that person, they want to protect one another, love and cherish each other. We mate and we mark each other so that others know that we belong to each other, but once we mark each other, we can tell how each other feels, if we're angry, sad, happy, excited, you name it we will feel it." I explained, but she looked a little confused.

"What do you mean by mark? How do we do that?" She asked me and I chuckled. I touched the place between her neck and her shoulder, causing her to shiver.

"This part right here is when I sink my canines into you and mark you, then you do the same to me." I said, gently running my finger over where I was going to mark her.

"We bite each other." She said, her eyes widening in surprise.

"That's how we mark each other, it will only hurt for a second, but you will feel tingles and then pleasure after." I replied, but again she looked at me confused.

"Pleasure?" She asks and I smile.

"That's while we are mating or in other words having s*x, making love." I explained further, her eyes went wider and she started to bite her lower lip.

"Oh. Ok I get it I think." She said and nodded.

"Come on, I think your mom and dad should be here soon. Nicky left you some clothes last night, I'll go get showered and dressed, while you get dressed in here." I said, she nodded and I went to the bathroom, leaving her to it.

Alexa's P.O.V

Our talk was confusing at first and I think I understand it now, but it's a lot to get used too. Nick had gone to the bathroom, while I got dressed in a t-shirt, jeans and sandals, I decided I would wear my hair up today and put it in a ponytail just like how Nicky had shown me. It didn't take me long and so I stood there for a few minutes, waiting for Nick to come out and when he did he only had his pants on. I looked at him, my eyes travelling up and down, until finally landing on his chest.

"You like what you see?" Nick said, catching me red handed staring at him, I nodded yes and looked away blushing.

"Don't blush sweet heart, I'm all yours." Nick said, walking towards me and talking my hand in his.
