Looking for Alexa

Chapter three maybe finding a friend

Alexa's P.O.V

  I was wary of stepping into the bathroom and kept looking back to make sure that no one was following me in here, but no one was. I stripped off my rags and stepped into the shower, it took me a while to figure out how it worked, as it had lots of different knobs and buttons, but I managed it. I started washing my hair, but I was really scared and kept looking out into the bathroom. Could that girl see me? If she could, then what was she doing? It was really freaking me out and I hurried to take a shower, washing my hair, rinsing it and then washing my body. I turned the water off, when I was finished and stepped out of the shower, I felt so clean that I wanted to get back in to take another and that's exactly what I did. It felt nice to be able to take s shower and wash without anybody watching or playing with themselves, while looking at me. It was the first time in years that I didn't feel dirty and disgusted after washing.

   I was finally done with my second shower, I stepped out, wrapped a towel around me and walked out of the bathroom. The lady, Nicky, I think her name is Nicky stood up from the bed and gave me some clothes to put on. I walked back into the bathroom, putting on the panties, bra, a pink shirt and a pair of jeans. It sure felt good wearing different clothes, instead of the rags that the master wanted me to wear. I walked back into the bedroom and stood there, facing Nicky.

  "I'll help you brush your hair, do you know how to do that?" Nicky asked me and I shook my head no in embarrassment, but she just smiled.

  "Come over here and sit down, I'll brush your hair and fix it." Nicky said, walking over to the chair, I nodded, walked over and sat down. 

  "Your hair is so tangled, did you ever brush it?" Nicky said, starting to brush my hair.

  "My master never let me, he always told me that it made me look more wild." I replied, holding my head down in shame and Nicky shook her head.

  "You don't have to worry about that now, but I'm going to need to cut your hair, it's too tangled to brush, I promise I'll make it look good." Nicky said, placing her hands gently on my shoulders and I nodded. Nicky started to cut my hair and by the time she was done I had shoulder length dark hair, it felt great and light on my head. Nicky handed me a mirror and I had to admit it looked a hell of a lot better than what it did.

  "Do you like it?" Nicky asked me, smiling and I nodded yes.

  "You're not a big talker are you?" Nicky said and again I shook my head no, making her laugh at my lack of response.

  "I'm sorry I wasn't allowed to talk, I guess I'll have to get used to it." I replied and Nicky only smiled at me. 

  "Don't worry he won't be able to find you, you are free now." Nicky said, squeezing my shoulders and yet again I nodded. 

  "Come on, let's get you back to the Alpha, I have a feeling he's going to love your new haircut." Nicky said and I was instantly scared, what would happen if he didn't like it? Would he lock me up? Would he beat me and shock me, like the master did? My chest started to feel tight, I felt like I couldn't breathe and everything around me started to spin. I was having a panic attack, I dropped down to my knees crying and gasping for air, rocking back and forth.

  Nicky's P.O.V

  I don't know what happened, one minute she was fine, shy, but fine and the next she was hyperventilating, crying and rocking back and forth on the ground. What the hell did that man do to her to make her react this way? Did I say something wrong? Was this my fault? Did I cause this reaction?

  "Alpha, you better come quick. I think Alexa is having a panic attack." I mind-linked Alpha Nick and five minutes later, he burst in through the bedroom door going straight to Alexa's side and kneeling down.

  "Alexa, honey, take a deep breath, come on you can do it, now let it out and keep repeating it. Come on sweetie you can do it." Alpha Nick said, trying to get her breathing under control and soon enough she stopped rocking back and forth, but she was still crying. 

  "What happened?" Alpha Nick said, turning to me.

  "I don't know, I was trying to get her to open up, I gave her a haircut because her hair was so tangled, I told her you would love it and the next thing I know, she was having a panic attack." I replied, not taking my eyes off of Alexa and Alpha Nick just shook his head, he must have been thinking the same as me. What the hell did that monster do to her?

  Alpha Nick's P.O.V 

  That bastard really messed her head up, it took me ages to calm her down and thankfully the mate bond helped, even though she doesn't know yet that we are mates. I don't think she even knows what mates are, that's going to be a difficult and awkward conversation. Am I the one that's going to need to tell her or will her parents explain it all to her? That night Alexa would only stay in her room if Nicky stayed with her, but on the couch.

  The next few days were hard, we had to try and teach her the ways of the wolf and also how to be a free human. She seemed to be comfortable in Nicky's presence, so Nicky taught her how to eat with utensils, how to brush her hair and put her make-up on properly and the big thing was getting her to sleep in the bed. She had been so used to sleeping on the floor of that cage, that the first couple of nights she slept on the floor in the corner of her room. Nicky finally managed to persuade her and show her that the bed was better than the floor and that nothing would happen to her if she slept in it. I would always peek my head round her bedroom door, just to check on her and make sure she was okay, it was nice to see that she was finally sound asleep in her bed.

  Tonight I walked to my room, but checked in on her first as usual, it was getting to be a nightly habit and it was getting harder and harder for me to pull myself away from her. I couldn't wait for the day that she knew we were mates and accepted me, but I wasn't going to rush it and I didnt want to scare her or force her, I would take it at her pace. I needed to get to bed and rest up, tomorrow was going to be a big day, filled with all sorts of different emotions. David and Trish should be arriving tomorrow and I didnt know how Alexa or her parents would react to seeing each other for the first time in years. I didn't know how they were going to react to finding out I was Alexa's mate and I wasn't going to tell them straight away either. They needed time with their daughter first, they all needed to connect and get to know each other again. I couldn't and wouldn't get in between that. I laid my head on my pillow and closed my eyes, waiting for sleep to take me.

  The next day I patiently waited in my office for David and Trish to arrive. I tried taking my mind off their imminent arrival by doing paperwork, but I just ended up flipping through the pages and repeatedly looking out the window.

  "Alpha, a car has just pulled up at the main gate, saying that they are David and Trish and that you are expecting them." A guard mind-linked me and I breathed a sigh of relief.

  "Let them through." I mind-linked back to the guard, standing up from my desk and walking out of my office to the front door. A black SUV pulled up and David and Trish exited the car, walking towards me. 

  "Hello David, Trish. Welcome to my territory." I said, shaking their hands. 

  "Thank you Alpha Nick, thank you so much for finding our daughter and keeping her safe until we could get here." David said, smiling at me, but I could sense that both he and Trish were excited and nervous about seeing Alexa again. I showed them to my office, but they didn't sit down. 

  "Where is Alexa?" David asked me.

  "I'll ask my Beta to go and get her." I replied.

  "Tommy, can you go and find Alexa and bring her to my office. Her parents are here." I mind-linked Beta Tommy and nodded to Alexa's parents.

  "Yes Alpha." Beta Tommy mind-linked back. I watched as David pulled Trish closer to him and held her tightly, trying to comfort her. It had been God knows how many years since they last saw her and a lot had changed since then. A few minutes later and there was a knock at the door, Beta Tommy walked in, but he had a worried expression on his face.

  "Where is she?" I asked him, trying to look behind him to see if she was there, but he just looked at me.

  "I don't know Alpha, she's not in her room and I can't find her." Beta Tommy replied and I immediately tensed up. Trish started to panic and cry in David's arms and David just looked at me with a pained expression.

  "Nicky is Alexa with you or have you seen her?" I mind-linked Nicky, hoping that they were together and that Alexa was safe.

  "No Alpha, she isn't with me and I haven't seen her." Nicky mind-linked back, I was starting to get worried about her. I mind-linked the guards to come to my office straight away and a few minutes later they arrived.

  "Guards, Alexa has gone missing. I want you to search all our territory and beyond for her, when you find her don't approach her, just mind-link me and I will come to you." I commanded, they all bowed their heads to me, turned around and left to begin the search. I didn't even know where to start looking, I just hope we find her and she is safe and sound.
