Chapter 42 Dare To Tell?

[Stella’s POV] “Do you really think you can get away from me?” He spoke in a warning voice, making everything run cold down my back. “Please don’t.” I whimpered as a mocking grin came across his lips, as he placed his hand around my chin, so his fingers were pressing around my cheeks in a firm grip. “Beg all you want, you are my property, I will always own you. No matter if you try to run away from me, in the end I will always get you back, and when I do, you will wish you had never left my side, ‘cause I’m going to kill everyone you ever cared about, and I’ll make you watch, as I do.” As his hold moved down to my neck, as he began to put pressure on it, so I slowly felt myself starting to get choked.. That was when I would wake up. It was the same nightmare that had haunted me for the past four days. That was the reason I was scared to hell of Armaros. I didn’t know what was real or just my imagination anymore, but I didn’t wanna take that chance, ‘cause what if it really did happen? Then he would.. No! I couldn’t bare the thought of it. When I observed the surrounding room, I was unable to see him anywhere. _Was it just another bad dream? _ “But it seemed so real..” I mumbled to myself. But as Diana stepped into the room with a cup of tea and some soup, I was even more confused. “Oh, hey sweetie, how are you feeling? She asked, while I looked around. “What’s going on? Why am I here?” I asked, as I knitted my eyebrows. “Well, your dad asked us to keep you here for now, so you and the rest are going to stay here for a while, until your parents figure some things out.” “My dad? But how did I.. Who are we?” I couldn’t really make sense of anything that moment. “I don’t know much, so you’ll have to wait ‘til Armaros can explain it to you.” Diana replied, but just as his name left her lips, my eyes widened. “No! I don’t need him to explain anything to me.” I blurred out, making Diana frown. “What’s wrong?” She asked me, but I just shook my head. “Just promise me, you won’t let him in here!” I demanded. I couldn’t explain it to her, she wouldn’t understand, none of them would. “Okay, okay, just calm down, we’ll figure this out.” She promised me as she squeezed my hand slightly, after she had placed the tea and soup on the bedside table. “I’ll be back in a moment.” she spoke as she stepped out of the room again. [..] Kyan walked up to Bella’s bedroom, and when he did, the door was already half open. He could see Bella was sitting on the bed crying, so he immediately stepped closer. “Bells?” He called out as her eyes widened. “Kyan, what are you doing here?” She blurred out, as she rose from the bed and quickly corrected her dress, while she tried hiding her panties by kicking them under the bed, but he had already seen enough to make up his own assumptions. “This is not what it looks like..” she tried explaining, but he shook his head as his face turned more angry than ever, and then he ran out of the door. She quickly tried to fix herself up before running after him. She needed to stop him before he did anything that could risk this coming out in the open. But it was already too late, when she found him, he was already speaking to her dad and Landon. As she came closer, they all looked at her, and she knew her eyes were still red and puffy from all her crying. Though she didn’t know what he said to them, she had a pretty good idea about it, because their eyes said it all. “Please, don’t do this,” she begged, but it was not for the reason they thought. She didn’t want anyone to know about it, but she clearly couldn’t change their minds. Her dad walked up to her as he pulled her into his arms. “Shh, don’t worry, he will be punished for what he did to you.” Her dad soothed. “No, dad, I mean it! You don’t know anything.” She cried as she pulled free and ran. “Bella, don’t interfere!” He called, but she ran to the house as he saw Landon pull Dagon out of the house in cuffs, and numerous people were already there. “Please, Landon, I don’t know what Kyan said, but this is all a big misunderstanding!” She exclaimed. “Don’t try to cover for him, Bella!” He scolded. But then Chase stepped forward. “Let her speak! Tell us what happened, then. Did he or did he not force himself on you?” Chase spoke, as she felt all attention turned to her. She swallowed a lump as everyone stared at her, but as she was about to speak up, Dagon beat her to it. “Yes, I forced myself on her, so just go ahead and put me away!” He snapped, as Bella was in complete shock by his statement. “Take him away, now!” He ordered, as Bella shortly made eye contact with Dagon before he was taken away. “Bells, how are you feeling?” Astra suddenly asked. He and his brother Belmir were working close to Chase, and were some of the top warriors who they had been from a pretty young age. Astra was 27 years old, and his brother, Belmir, was 26. “I’m fine, but what’s going to happen to him?” She asked, as Astra put a hand on her shoulder. “Don’t you worry about that, right now. You must focus on yourself, okay? Do you want me to take you to see Dr. Canis?” He asked, as he moved his hand to her upper arm and stroked it gently. “No, I can’t right now, but thanks for the offer.” She replied as he gave her a smile. “Of course, you can always just ask if there is anything, okay?” He clarified as she nodded her head, before he headed after the others. “I’ve really messed up this time,” Bella mumbled to herself. She didn’t want to leave Dagon in a prison cell, but she couldn’t get herself to tell anyone about what happened between them either. [Two days later] After two days, Armaros still had no answer to what they had done to Stella. All he knew was most of them sounded like some brainwashed idiots, that blindly believed in this ridiculous cause of theirs. _ Did they really think what they did was right?_ “I ask you again! What did you do to her?!” Armaros yelled at Nathan, but he still didn’t answer, he just sat on the floor inside his cell and ignored him, which finally was the last straw for Armaros. He was so angry that he walked into the cell, pulled him off the floor and banged him against the wall. “Answer me, or I’ll kill you right here and now!” He roared, as he pressed his gun against his cheek. “Then why not just get it over with?” Nathan spoke, as he seemed careless, which made Armaros’ hands shake in anger. “Armaros.” Baal suddenly called to him, but he wouldn’t let himself get disturbed. “Not now, Baal, I’m busy!” He hissed, but Baal continued by pulling his shoulder. “Armaros!” Baal stated a little firmer, as Armaros finally gave into his nagging, as he turned angrily. “What the hell do you want?” He growled, but as he turned his attention away from Nathan. He was confronted with the sight of Stella standing in the door with Xander and James. “Stella?” He spoke, as his face immediately turned from angry to worried. He let go of Nathan, as he stepped out of the cell, while Baal closed it behind him. He hadn’t seen her in those two days, and when he finally did, she just ran. “You should probably give her some space,” Xander suggested, as he reached the top of the stairs. He wanted to follow her, but he knew Xander was right, he would probably just end up worsening it if he did. “Why did she come here?” Armaros asked. “She wanted to speak with Nathan,” Xander stated. The realization hit harder than he could have imagined, as he felt rage inside of him. “She wanted to speak to him? Why?!” He growled. “Hey, don’t kill the messenger buddy, I get you are frustrated, but I really don’t know much more than you do.” Xander defended. “Looks like you finally lost, Armaros! I might be the one in a cell right now, but at least I got you down with me.” Nathan yelled from the dungeon, which made Armaros loose it. “I’m gonna kill him, and every last one of them!” Armaros growled, as he turned to go back into the cell, but before he got anywhere, Baal grabbed hold of him. “I won’t let you ruin anything.” Baal hissed, but Armaros was too angry, and instead he proceeded to hit Baal in the jaw, but Baal immediately returned it, by hitting him back. Both of them ended up on the ground, but in the end, Armaros got the upper hand, but Baal still refused to let go. “Let go of me, or I’ll kill you too!” Armaros roared, resulting in him pulling out his gun, and pressed it against Baal’s chest. “You really wanna lose her forever? ‘Cause you will, if you continue down this path!” Baal hissed. “Can’t you see I’ve already lost! He got what he wanted, Stella hates me, and I can’t do anything to change that!” He yelled, as he clinched the gun before he threw it away, and sat down on the ground. “You first truly lose her when you decide to give up.” Baal stated as he pulled himself up to a sitting position, and dried the blood from his lip. “Show her the side she fell in love with instead of.. Well, whatever this is,” Baal stated. “How? She won’t even see me, let alone talk to me.” Armaros asked with a sigh, while he hung his head between his knees. “Just leave it to me, I got an idea,” he explained. [..] As Bella stepped into the dungeon, she saw Dagon was sitting on the floor. He didn’t look at her, but he already knew it was her. “What are you doing here, Bella? You shouldn’t have come.” Dagon spoke. “Wow, thanks for the warm welcome, you have been down here for days and that’s how you greet your one and only guest?” She stated, but he didn’t reply to her attempt to break the tension between them. She gave a small sigh as she stepped closer. “Dagon, why would you say that you forced me, when you know that it couldn’t be further from the truth?” She proceeded to ask him, as he still didn’t look at her. “That’s easier than the truth, isn’t it? Do you think I want them to look at you the way they did with Stella? Knowing I’m not your mate will make it far worse, ‘cause it means you would have to tell them you chose it, right?” He spoke. “But it’s not fair to you, I know it sounded harsh the way I said it last time, I really think you are a nice guy, but..” “But I’m not THAT guy, I know, just leave it!” He hissed, as he turned away from her. “Why do you sound so angry, it’s not like you care about me anyway!” She snapped, as he knitted his eyebrows, before he finally looked at her. “You think I don’t care? I’m mad because I do care, Bella, I wish I didn’t, but I do!” He exclaimed, as she looked at him slightly baffled. But then she sighed: “To be honest, I wasn’t upset because I was with you, but because, everyone’s expecting me to be the one following all the rules I always have – looking out for my cousins and all – being the eldest is kinda tiering you know.. I’m just scared that my parents will be disappointed with me,” she admitted, as she leaned against the bars, as she looked at the floor. But then Dagon suddenly stood in front of her as he put a hand under her chin, so she looked at him. “Well, then it’s their loss, ‘cause I think you’re pretty awesome.” He responded with a smile, which she couldn’t help but return. “Thank you.” She responded, but then someone suddenly grabbed her arm and pulled her away. “What the fück are you doing here, Bella? Didn’t we tell you to stay away from that monster!” Astra scolded, as he pulled her several feet away from the cell. “He’s not a monster! He never hurt me.” Bella defended, as she pulled her arm free from his grasp, while he knitted his eyebrows. “What are you talking about?” He asked, as she knew she finally had to come clean. “I was too scared to admit it before, but the truth is; I chose to be with him!” She revealed, he blinked a couple of times, before he spoke again. “Let me get this straight, you’re telling me that you slept with him, not because he forced you to it, but because you actually wanted to?” He asked with a frown, as he pointed a finger at Dagon. “Yes, and I will spare you the shameful trip, I’m telling my dad and my uncle right now..” Bella stated, but as she was about to walk past him, he put his hand out in front of her. “Wait a minute, I just can’t seem to wrap my mind around it.” He spoke, as she rolled her eyes. “What don’t you get?” She hissed. “The fact that you’re just as stupid as your cousin,” he spoke, as he pushed her against the wall, making her freeze. [..] “Hey cupcakes!” Shax greeted, as Stella gave him a cautious smile. “Hey Shax.” She replied, as he walked into the room and sat down opposite to her. “Thank you for agreeing to see me. I know it must have been a tough decision.” Shax started, as Stella started to fiddle with her fingers. “It was.. But I have no ill memories of you ever trying to hurt me, so I guess I shouldn’t be scared of you, am I right?” Stella spoke. “Of course, I would never hurt you cupcakes, we are friends!” Shax beamed. “If we’re friends, then please tell me, why do you want me to see him?” She questioned, which made Shax take a deep breath. “Cutting right to the chase, huh?” He spoke as an awkward chuckle left his lips. “You’re right, but it’s all for you, I want you to get your memories back - all of them.” He explained, as he placed his hand on top of hers, but she pulled away. “What if I’m not convinced that I want them back?” Stella replied, making Shax stare at her in shock. “You don’t mean that, you.. You love him, you just can’t remember.” Shax tried. “Maybe that’s the problem. I only remember all these horrible things about him, and I have no idea how a couple of good memories should be able to make up for those things..” Stella replied. “I know how it must look to you, but I have seen how happy you are with him, you are the one who has defended him the most and been able to make him feel again.” He tried to explain. “Or maybe he’s just a really good manipulator,” Stella mumbled. “I’m sorry, but all I know is how he kept me hostage for weeks, threatening not only me, but my whole family too. I also remember how he beat my uncle, locked up my cousins in a cell, and how he treated me when he thought I was screwing around with Baal. And also how he looked at me the day his father hit me. He didn’t care, so why should I believe any of the things you say?” “Do you remember when he almost beat up a waiter for flirting with you?” Shax asked, as Stella frowned. “Of course I do. How could I not. He treated me like I had to be grateful. How could I ever forget that?” She asked. “So, you remember that, but have no recollection of how he apologized and asked you out on another date, which I clearly remember you described as the best date you ever had.” Shax spoke. “I already told you my memories are all over the place right now. I tried, but I can’t remember, okay!” She spoke frustrated. “Then please, just hear him out okay, and I’m sure you will understand.” Shax tried again, as Stella dried a tear away from her cheek. “Fine, I will listen to what he has to say, but he will have to meet me in front of the house. I’m not going anywhere else with him.” Stella replied, as Shax nodded. “I understand, I’ll let him know.” Shax spoke, as he raised from his seat, and walked out.
