[At the tribe]
“Are there any news?” Bella asked as she walked in to the kitchen, where Cathrine was sitting with a cup of tea, clearly worried. “No, not yet Bells, your father, and uncles are still out searching, so..” She explained, just as the door opened, and Chase, Vlad, Bella’s father, Ace and Drake walked in.
“Did you find anything?” Cathrine asked, as she got up from her seat and walked over to Chase, as she anxiously fiddled with her fingers. Then Vlad proceeded to place a pile of shredded clothes on the table. Cathrine looked at it in great shock, as Chase and Vlad turned their attention towards Bella.
“Was those the clothes Stella was wearing? It smells like her, but I need to be certain!” Chase asked, as he had a concerned look on his face. Bella nodded her head.
“Yeah, it is..” She replied, as she started to get worried too. None of them had been able to get any sleep all night, and now the sun was already rising and Stella was still nowhere to be found. Chase pulled his hand through his hair, as a sigh of frustration left his lips.
“I knew it! I should never have let her throw that party without supervision – not when she has never shifted before!” Chase growled, as he slammed his hand down on the table. Then he leaned himself against the counter, as he gave a strained sigh.
“We couldn’t have known Chase, you can’t blame yourself for that.” Cathrine tried to comfort him, as she placed a hand on his back.
“No, but what if anything happens? I’ll never forgive myself, Cathy, and right now, the problems with the Demons have only worsened. What if..” He started as Cathrine shushed him.
“Please, don’t say something like that.. And Bella is still here!” Cathrine blurred out, as everyone immediately turned their attention to Bella, as her eyes started to tear up.
“This is all my fault, I should have kept a better eye on her.” Bella started to cry, as Ace walked over and hugged his daughter.
“No, no one is blaming you, Bells, how about you go home and get some rest, we will find her, okay?” Ace stated.
Then he gently tucked her hair to the side, as he kissed the top of her head, and sent her on her way. Bella paused for a moment, as she glanced back towards the kitchen, where the adults kept talking.
“I’ll check the forest again!” Vlad stated as he disappeared with a flash, while Chase proceeded to hug Cathrine, before the door was closed and only the sounds of a distant murmur could be heard. When Bella stepped out, she was met by Kyan, Jaze and Nathan, who were waiting for her.
“So.. Did they find anything yet?” Kyan asked, as he stepped over to Bella, who almost began crying again.
“They think she might have shifted outside the forest last night, ‘cause they found her clothes completely shattered.” Bella replied, as they all looked at Nathan.
“What did you say to her last night? ‘Cause she must have been pretty mad if she shifted right there in the forest, not even taking her clothes off first!” Jaze asked him accusingly.
“Why does it matter? If she shifted, she's most likely just running some steam off, she’ll probably be back soon..” Nathan stated dismissively, as all of them crossed their arms.
“Don’t you get anything, Nathan! She has never shifted before, no one knew if it would ever be possible for her to do so, even if you know that she hasn’t had a wolf, like the rest of us!” Bella snapped.
“So, tell us what happened!?” She bit at him.
“Okay! I kissed her, and then she told me she didn’t have those kinds of feelings for me, and I might have been getting a little upset, so I probably said some stupid things..” Nathan spoke as he started rambling.
“Like what?” Jaze spoke, as he narrowed his eyes.
“I told her, that she should grow up, ‘cause she has this idea that some boy she met 10 years ago is her mate, and I.. Might have been a little jealous.” Nathan exclaimed, as they looked confused at each other. “She never told me that!” Bella blurred out as she frowned.
“No, ‘cause I was the only one who knew about it – she told me when we were like 12 or something. She was still wearing that stupid necklace he had given her, so I knew she probably still felt the same way.” He spoke, as he felt pretty ridiculous at that moment.
“Do you think that.. Could it be possible that she is looking for him?” Kyan asked.
“How? She has met him once, she couldn’t possibly find him from that one encounter all those years ago.” Jaze replied, shaking his head, as a frown covered his features.
“We don’t know how her abilities work, she’s some kind of hybrid, right, so why not?” Kyan argued. “Maybe, but we don’t know anything about this guy, or who he is?” Bella pointed out, as she shrugged, while she pursed her lips, and a thoughtful expression colored her face.
“He is a demon.” Nathan cut in, as they all looked at him stunned. “Oh, that’s bad!” Bella blurred out.
“Why?” Kyan asked with knitted eyebrows.
“‘Cause I just heard uncle Chase say, that things between werewolves and Demons are pretty bad right now.” She spoke.
“Then we need to do something,” Jaze stated.
[..]
Armaros slammed the door, as he walked out of the room.
“That girl is driving me fücking insane!” He growled, when he met Damien, who was still waiting outside the room.
“You want me to talk to her? I bet she will, after a little persuasion!” Damien asked, as a grin appeared on his lips.
“Fücking touch her, and I’ll break every one of your fingers!” Armaros shot, as he immediately felt an anger rise inside of him, just at the thought of Damien in there with her.
“Fücking relax, you sound like she’s your girlfriend or some bullshít.” Damien replied as he took a step back.
“Fück off! I know you, and I already told you – no one touches her, except me!” He snapped.
“When did you become such a pretentious ásshole?”
“I don’t know! When did you become so annoying that I want to knock all your teeth out!” He snapped back.
“You know what, fück you!” Damien hissed, before he stormed off, as Armaros proceeded to pull his hands down his face because he had no idea what was going on inside his head.
Damien was right about one thing; he had never acted like this before, but somehow this was different — she was different.
Then he was reminded by the necklace she gave him. He had been so angry that he didn’t even look at it before. He took it out of his pocket, and saw it was a black chain with a pendant shaped like a rose, having this red stone on the top. His eyes widened as he immediately recognized it.
“Stella?” He called out, as he opened the door once again, and she looked up at him. He could clearly see she had been crying, but she dried the tears away as soon as he stepped back into the room.
“What do you want now, Armaros?” She spoke as she avoided any eye contact with him.
“I just wanted to say that I remember who you are now..” He spoke as he walked over to her.
“Okay, so?” She replied, as she pulled her knees to her chest.
“Stella, I’m sorry.. I didn’t know that..” Armaros started, but he paused as he wasn’t even sure what to say.
“Why does it matter anyway? You already made it pretty clear that I have no idea who you are!” Stella questioned, as she hided her face behind her raised legs.
“You don’t get it, do you?” Armaros knitted his eyebrows as he sat down on the bed.
“Get what!” She asked as she finally raised her head to look at him.
“You walked into demon territory, and everyone here now knows you are a werewolf, and you seem to be completely blind to everything that’s going on..” He replied, while he stared sharply at her.
“What do you mean?” She asked as she corrected herself, leaning her back against the headboard.
“Demons and werewolves aren’t in a very good place right now, and.. You really have no idea, do you?” He started to explain, but he halted, as she just looked like one big question mark.
“My dad has never talked about what’s going on between them and you, demons.. He only ordered me to stay away from your kind.” She replied. As Armaros couldn’t believe his own ears.
“We are at the breaking point of a war right now, and you just placed yourself in the middle of it!” He revealed, as she started to chew on her lip, as she thought about what he just said.
“But.. I’m not even able to shift, so I’m not even a threat to anyone.” She tried to reason, but Armaros shook his head.
“You’re wrong..” he stated, as he shook his head.
“You turned up here as a wolf, Stella, but somehow you are different, and I need you to tell me why!” He ordered, as he took a hold on her hand, as a jolt went through both of them and his pupils immediately expanded, as a result, making him forget all about what he actually was trying to find answers to.
“And.. That’s all you wanna know?” Stella asked in a low voice, as she stared into his eyes. He could feel how his heartbeat started to rise, as his eyes were fixed on her lips.
Then a small scream left her lips as he pulled her closer, not able to resist the temptation anymore.
“I don’t know what you are doing, but you're driving me fücking crazy, Stella!” He growled, as he suddenly kissed her greedily before he bit down on her lip, making her whimper by the sting of the pain.
“You’re playing with fire, you should make sure you don’t lose control of it.” He whispered as he pressed his eyelids closed before he reopened them.
“Here!” He spoke, as he gave her the necklace back. He then let go of her and quickly headed towards the door.
“I want you to keep it.” Armaros stated, as he was facing the door, not even turning around, before he stormed out of the room.
“What the hell just happened?” Stella asked herself, as she put a finger to her swollen lip and a drop of bløød was evident on her finger, as she removed it from the spot.
----
Armaros stormed out of the room once again, and ran down the stairs.
“Jinn! I need to get out. Now!” Armaros ordered, as he walked past Jinn, Amon and Corson playing cards, while Damien leaned against the wall, with a lit cigarette in his hand, and a sulky expression.
“Of course sir.. B-but where to?” He asked nervously, as he hurried behind him and out of the front door, towards the parked car.
“Just.. Away from here!” He snapped and jumped in to the car. He felt like he needed to get away from her, or he would end up going too far.
She was just as he remembered her; still just as innocent and sweet as when he met her in the forest, all those years ago, though now she had grown in to this beautiful girl, who looked sxy as hell.é
But he wasn’t the same person as he was back then – not even close. He was nothing more than a monster. He wanted her so badly, but he knew he would ruin her.
He knew the right thing would be to let her go home, but just the thought of letting her leave made everything turn inside of him – he couldn’t! He knew he needed her, more than she probably would ever need him.
He knew he was being selfish, but he couldn’t let her slip away – not now – not ever..
