Chapter 8 Facing The Truth

[Stella’s POV - Continued from last chapter] “Do you need to stare at me, while I’m changing?” I asked in disbelief. “Why? Would you prefer, I close my eyes?” He asked with a grin, as I nodded, and he started to chuckle, but he closed them and I quickly got changed. When I was done, I placed my clothes on the floor, before I laid down on the bed next to him, but I distanced myself from him, so I was as far away from him, as I possibly could be, while my back was turning towards him. “You can open your eyes now.” I stated, but as soon as the words had left my mouth, I felt his arm snake around me as he pulled me close to him. I could feel the warmth radiating from his hard chest on to my back, and it felt like he calmed down by the touch, but I was sure it had to be my imagination playing a number with me. “Turn around, Stella.” He demanded, as I did what I was told. His gloomy red eyes were fixed at me, as I looked back at him, waiting for him to speak his mind. “I promised that you could ask me three questions of your choice, so what do you wanna know?” He then asked me, as I thought about it for a moment. When I knew what I wanted to ask him, I looked at him once again, as I could see he waited for me to speak. “Why don’t you wanna talk about your parents?” I asked him, and I immediately felt him tense, but he had told me I could ask anything, so that was what I intended to do. “Because my sorry excuse of a father is a fücking bastard, who beat me my entire childhood, and I hate my mother for leaving me with him.” He replied coldly, as pure hatred was sipping from him. “I’m sorry to hear that.” I spoke, as his eyes softened, as he stared at me, with this puzzled look. “Why are you sorry?” He asked me. “No child deserves to be treated that way, no matter the reason.” I stated, as he gave a slight nod, and I decided to go ahead with my second question. “Are you planning to hurt me?” I asked hesitantly, as his eyebrows knitted together. “Why do think I’m gonna hurt you?” He asked, as he pulled me even closer. I placed my hand on his warm chest as I tried to keep some kind of distance from him, but I already felt how he was affecting me. No matter how hard I tried to keep my distance, it seemed to be impossible. “I don’t know, maybe because you seem to hate my kind, and you already made it pretty clear that you don’t care how I feel, so I need to know if you are..” I replied, as I took a deep inhale, feeling more calm as his scent filled my nostrils, while I waited for his response. “I’m not gonna hurt you, Stella.. I just want you, and I might not like werewolves, but I do like you.” He revealed as he placed his head on top of mine. “What else do you wanna know?” He asked me, as he kept holding me close to him. “Have you ever killed anyone?” I asked him, as he became silent for some time, before he uttered one single word. “Yes.” He stated, as he turned to look at me, as if he wanted to observe my reaction to it, but as I opened my mouth to get him to elaborate, his eyes turned hard, and he placed a finger on my lips. “If you're considering asking one more question, I will remind you, that I gave you three questions, and you’ve already used them, so go to sleep now.” He ordered, before he removed his finger and put both his arms around me, pulling me halfway up on his chest and closed his eyes. I glared at him for some time, but when I figured he wouldn’t give me any chance to ask more questions, I just sighed in defeat and went to sleep. [Next morning] There was a sudden knock on the door as it opened, waking Stella, and she realized she was still laying half on top of Aramaros. “We need you, Sir! We have some.. ‘Visitors’.” Baal stated as he glanced at Stella. He was quite surprised as he saw Bella and Armaros lay that close in the bed. Armaros knitted his eyebrows at first, but then he finally realized why he used that expression. “Okay, I’ll be there in five!” Armaros spoke, as Baal nodded his head in understanding, as he left the room again. “I’ll have to go for a moment, but I’ll be back as soon as I can, okay?” Armaros stated as he placed a kiss on Stella's neck, sending sparks of pleasure through her body. “Okay..?” Stella replied, as she pulled the sheet closer around her, as Armaros started to take his clothes on and walked out the door, where Baal was waiting for him. As Armaros had closed the door, he turned to look at Baal. “So, what’s going on?” He asked. “Six werewolves were caught down town last night, four youngsters and two grown werewolves. The four young once have been placed in a cell in the basement, and then we have the two males, placed in the interrogation rooms, down the hall.” Baal explained, as Armaros nodded in understanding. “Did they say, why they are here?” He asked. “No, Sir – they won’t say anything!” Baal replied. Then there became quiet, but then Armaros felt Baal stare at him. “What!” Armaros snapped, as he recognized that look on Baal’s face, as he was sure he knew exactly why he was staring – he was sure it was because of what he just saw. “Nothing, Sir! It’s not my place to tell you what you should be doing.” Baal replied, as he shook his head while they continued down the hall. “You're right, it’s not!” Armaros growled lowly. But he could see on Baal’s face he wanted to say something. “Just spit it out! I will decide whether I wanna listen to your bullshit or not.” Armaros spoke, as Baal looked at him. “I just wanna make sure that this ‘thing’ you have going on with that girl, isn’t creating any conflict of interest in this situation.” Baal spoke, as he glanced at Armaros, who raised an eyebrow. “It won’t, I might have an interest in Stella, but it doesn’t mean that anything else has changed,” Armaros stated in a cold tone, as Baal nodded. “Well, if you are sure then..” He spoke, but Armaros cut in. “I am, so just leave it!” He hissed, as Baal nodded once again and opened the door to the first room. [Stella’s POV] I couldn’t believe I fell for it. How would I ever have a chance to leave if I couldn’t even resist him after a simple kiss? I sighed as I placed the pillow over my head. Though I surly had started to evolve some kind of feelings for Armaros, I couldn’t help but think that all this had just been a part of the bet for him to make me stay. If I didn’t get my act together, I would probably never be able to see my family again. I felt my anger was pressing on – how could I have ever been so naive as to agree to this stupid bet? — I knew I didn’t stand a chance against his mind games. I decided to get out of bed and take a bath, so I could clear my mind. When I was done, I saw Armaros still hadn’t returned, so I started walking downstairs to get something to eat by myself. Though, when I had reached the first floor, and was walking down the hall, the door to the basement suddenly opened right in front of me, as someone walked out, and I instinctively hid behind it. “Finally, some peace and quiet, I swear, if I’m going to listen to that wolf, crying one more time, I’ll give her something to cry about..” one of the two Demons I recognized as Morax growled. “Maybe if we’re lucky, Armaros will let us have some fun with her, when he is done interrogating the rest.” Dagon stated as they walked away laughing, and I stood back horrified by what I had just heard. Did they really keep werewolves locked up in the basement? I snuck down to the basement, making sure nobody saw me. As I came to the end of the stairs, I could see four shadows in a cell. Then as I came closer, I realized to my shock that it was my cousins Kyan, Jaze and Bella, and then Nathan was there with them too. “What are you doing here?” I blurred out, as they turned around and looked at me in pure shock. “Us? We were looking for you! What are you doing here?” Nathan scolded. “That’s a long story, I’ll tell you later, right now, we need to get you out of here.” I stated as I started to look for a key. “We are just glad to see you okay, but I don’t think they left the key here.” Kyan spoke. “Then we just have to get it back somehow..” I started as I suddenly was brought out of my thoughts, as a voice echoed through the room. “So you breaking prisoners out now? I knew Armaros should have kept you on a leash – you’re nothing but trouble.” Morax snapped as he and Dagon had come back. “Shut up! They shouldn’t be here, they are my family, you should let them go right now!” I snapped, as Dagon and Morax just looked at each other and smiled. “Sorry sweetheart, but that we can’t do. We have our orders, and you’ll not be able to change that.” Dagon stated as he crossed his arms. “And you should watch that tongue of yours.. Armaros might have ordered us not to hurt you, but maybe I’ll reconsider that promise..” Morax warned me, but I just ignored his threat. “Don’t you see how wrong this is?” I asked in disbelief, as Morax shrugged. “It’s just business, baby girl!” he stated with no care. “Then I’ll talk to Armaros..” I huffed as I turned to the others with an apologetic glance. “I’ll figure this out, I promise, okay?” I spoke as I took a hold of Bella’s hand before I started to walk out. “Good luck with that, he is probably at the interrogation room!” Dagon yelled at me with a laugh. I searched the entire floor, before I saw Baal standing in front of a door, as his eyes widened when he saw me. “What are you doing here?” He asked me. “Move aside, Baal, I need to talk to Armaros now!” I replied as I continued to go grab for the door handle. “You shouldn’t go in there, Stella.” Baal warned me, as he grabbed hold of the handle. “Just move Baal!” I repeated, as he rolled his eyes and raised his brows. “Suit yourself, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Baal stated before he moved, and I opened the door. [..] Armaros walked around Landon, who was sitting in the chair, as he was cuffed to it, while he had been given a dose of a special medication, making it impossible for him to shift in to his wolf. “So tell me.. Why did you come to our territory? - When you clearly have nothing to do here!” Armaros demanded to know. “We were looking for someone – nothing, a demon like you, would understand.” He replied with a huff. Armaros proceeded to punch him in the gut, as Landon hissed in pain. “Let’s try again, shall we? Who is this person you are looking for, hmm?” Armaros asked, as Landon just glared at him, not saying anything, which only angered Armaros more. “It should never be some pretty wolf-girl you are looking for?” Armaros asked, as he immediately caught his attention. “If you have done anything to her, I’ll personally kill you!” He yelled at Armaros, as a smirk came across his lips. “Oh, but I haven’t done anything to her.. Well, at least not anything she didn’t like, and I must say, she did very much indeed.” Armaros stated with a grin, as he saw the anger in his eyes – if eyes could kill, he would definitely have been dead by now. “Fück you!” Landon yelled at him, as Armaros punched him once again, this time in the face, making him bleed from his nose and mouth. “If I don’t get the chance, her father is undoubtedly going to kill you – do you even know who he is!” He growled angrily, as he spat some blood on the floor. “Why should I care?” Armaros asked as he leaned closer to him. “If you ask me, I think every werewolf should be eradicated – you are nothing but a waste of space and air!” Armaros fired at him. He had been so focused on Landon, that he hadn’t even heard the door had opened some time ago. “Is that really how you view my kind? And me?” Stella asked, as Armaros was stunned to see Stella standing behind him. “Stella I.. It wasn’t like that.. Of course not you..” He tried to explain, as he stepped towards her, but she immediately took a step backwards, as she looked at him like she was afraid of him. “No! You stay the hell away from me, Armaros!” She yelled before she ran out of there. Armaros sighed in frustration as he heard a chuckle behind him. “You knew she was standing there the whole time, didn’t you?” Armaros spat at him, as a smile spread across Landon’s bloody lips. “She needed to see your true colors.” He stated, which only put Armaros’ blood to new burning heights, making him walk over to Landon, as he grabbed hold of the collar of his shirt and started to punch him repeatedly. But as he was going to leave another punch, he heard Baal call out. “Armaros! Stella has escaped!” Baal revealed as Armaros turned around in shock. “What! How is it possible that one girl could pass by ten of you!” He roared.
