[Diego’s POV]
I slam my fists against the invisible wall in front of me while my gaze stays fixed on the woman as she examines the ball of dark energy. What the hell was she even doing, and what was this thing keeping me away?
‘We need to help her,’ Chanel announces in my mind. ‘But there seems to be a barrier.’
‘Do you think some barrier can keep me out?’ I growl in response.
Letting out a growl of rage, I draw on all my energy and increase my attack. With each hit, I can feel the barrier growing weaker and weaker, but before I can actually get it to give way and allow me to enter, the woman moves forward, pressing her nose against the ball of energy.
Immediately, her body begins to glow with a purplish hue, and I can almost physically feel her life force beginning to fade. And with
