Jeff's eyes widen behind the mask on my phone screen as I ask how well he knows the prince, and for a second, I regret bringing it up. It's obvious he does know him and I don't want to make him uncomfortable by trash talking someone he's friendly with.
But on the other hand, he did ask, and it's not like there's anything I would say to him that I wouldn't say right to the prince's face.
When the man from the prince's office called me this morning, I was polite. He hadn't done anything wrong, after all, he was just an employee. So I simply said I would think about it even though I had no intention of going .The only reason I was even slightly tempted was to have the chance to be able to look the prince in the eye and tell him exactly what I think of him.
