My blood is boiling so much as I walk away from the sergeant's office that I almost forget where I'm supposed to be going, and I have to double back to catch up with the captain to go over my schedule. The new rotations start in two weeks, so I have that long before I need to be ready. As Carter so helpfully pointed out, I'll need to pass the standard fitness test that all new recruits go through before they'll put me back on duty. It's not an easy test. More than half the people who take it fail, but I'm determined not to be one of them.
I call Rita at my apartment to see if she'll watch Rosie a little longer and she assures me it's no problem, so I head to the training facility right now to get started. I go to the punching bag first, and pretending it's Carter helps m
