Chapter 5 Julian took a much longer route to the park in M Sector. He also took a bag of food so he could tell anyone who asked that he was going to have himself a bit of a picnic. He’d find a place by the tree trunk, sit down and eat his lunch in full view of the cameras, and then gradually inch his way towards the blind spot beneath the shadows cast by the canopy. Upon arriving at the grove by the perimeter fence, Julian sat down on the grass, which had become rather patchy in the past three weeks, and started his lunch. The whole time he listened for evidence that Taal was close by. But there was no such evidence.
