Kai’s POV The shock of the revelation of the day had single handily destroyed me. I felt numb, and I couldn’t believe a kidney infection was going to cause me to lose my little sister. She was dying. It was more than I could take. The day went by in a blur. Leah was brilliant, funny, cheeky and the perfect amount of serious. She got me through the day. I was grateful for her. I was tired, it had been a long day. I just wanted to go home and sleep. The constant turmoil inside me was draining and all the driving was an added challenge. Leah didn’t want to be alone, and in reality, neither did I. I wasn’t going to ask her to stay with me, but when she asked, the answer was easy. I was glad of her company. She was in the shower when I got to my room, so I stripped off to get into my PJ’s.
