What's That About?

"Seriously, Kim! Is this going to be an everyday occurrence?" an annoyed voice pierced through my sleepy brain. I felt my sheets being pulled away from my body. I groaned and kicked at the hands by my feet. "Let me sleep, why don't you!" Diana moved to my window and pulled the drapes open. "It's because it's freaking midday and you were supposed to have gotten your ass to work this morning." "What?!" I sat up so fast that I saw black spots behind my eyes. Covering my eyes with my hands, I breathed in through my mouth. "s**t! Why didn't you tell me? I am so fired!" I scrambled out of bed, not caring that I was in the nude and ran to the bathroom.  Looking at myself in the mirror, I grimaced. "Flip, I look like Frankenstein's wife." I had mascara smudged on my face, the lipstick was all over my mouth. everything from the previous night came back in a flash. I was so tired by the time I was dropped home that the only thing I could do was remove my clothes and fall on to the bed. Diana came into the bathroom and stood by the door, folding her hands in front of her ample bosom. "What did you expect? You went out on a Sunday, in a plane, out of God knows where!" "Shhh!" I hushed her as I made quick work on brushing my teeth. A quick scrub and a gaggle, I walked into the shower. "Those teeth are so not clean," Diana mumbled as she chuckled at my fast speed shower. Turning, I splashed water at her, "get the hell out, lesbo!" Diana licked her lips, her tongue moving slowly as she checked me out, "you are getting me hot and bothered, true. But we don't have time. I'll see you tomorrow. I am on call today," she rolled her eyes. "Some i***t decided to get the tummy bug and I have to cover for them." "Shames!" I said as I stepped out of the shower. Diana frowned. "You call that a shower?" "Hey, I washed all the important places," I pointed to my front. Diana laughed and walked out.  In a few seconds, I heard the front door being closed. Running to my room I went through my wardrobe, settling for the black jean trousers and the white shirt, thanking the management for allowing us to wear slacks at work. Checking myself in the mirror, I frowned at the dark circles under my eyes. Reaching for my concealer, I used my ring finger to quickly hide them. A little eyeliner, mascara and pale pink lipstick finished my look.  My hair was still wet from the shower, so running my hands through it, I collected my keys and purse and ran out of the apartment, in my head coming up with all the excuses that I was going to give for being so late. Pushing the door open, I made my way to the locker room, scanning the place as I walked in. A frown formed when I passed through Tyrell's station and he was not there. As I pushed the door to the locker room open I nearly bumped into Marsha. "Kim?" she frowned as she looked at her slim golden watch. "Why are you so early? Don't you start at two today?" "Two?" I asked as I walked around her to my locker. "I was supposed to start this morning but I overslept." Marsha shook her head, "that's very weird. I was called late last night to come in the morning as you and Tyrell won't be in. Grizzly Bear called me himself." "That is so weird!" I rubbed the space between my eyes. I glanced at my watch. "That means I still have an hour and a half to sleep," a smile broke free. I walked to the back, where we had two beds and threw myself down. "Wake me up when you are about to leave." "You are just so weird," Marsha said as she made her way out. I reached for my handbag and took out my phone. Quickly dialing Tyrell's number, I waited impatiently for it to connect. "Yo, why are you calling me this early?" came Tyrell's gruff voice. "It's midday, moron!" I giggled only to wince at the headache. I could hear him moving around. "Why the hell did he let me sleep this late! What will Tony say?" Tyrell screeched. "OMG! Do I even have a job? And why are you calling so late? You should have woken me up!" I laughed, probably that was me a few minutes back. "Relax, Ty. We are safe. For some crazy reason, Tony thinks we were to have the afternoon shift. I am already here and Marsha is on duty, I don't know with who, though. As for calling you, I got in just now as well." "Are you shitting me?" Tyrell asked. "Nope." I pushed back my hair, thinking that I should at least blow dry it now I have time. "That was some crazy time last night. I don't even remember when I got home! If it wasn't for Mas putting us in that plane, we would still be there!" Tyrell groaned. "Tell me about it. I have never had so much alcohol in my body like that. How many times did they refill the bar?" "Lost count," I plucked at the throw I was lying on. "Anyway, I am definitely not doing that again!" "Yeah, one day of living like a celeb was enough for me," Tyrell agreed with me. "See you in a few minutes. I just want to come there and wait for my shift. Probably talk to Tony and find out who told him that we were going to be late." "Cool," I said as I hung up and turned on my side, sleep taking me over in a few minutes. "Come on, Sleeping beauty!" I heard a voice from afar waking me up. "There is no Prince Charming coming to kiss you awake. Get your ass up!" I groaned as I opened my eyes. Tyrell was standing there, already in his uniform. "What the flipping jack are you making so much noise for? We still have time." "No, we don't!" Tyrell said as he worked on his cufflink. "It's five to two. Better get that pretty ass moving before Grizzly Bear comes looking for it." I shot out of the bed, quickly putting on my uniform before I straightened my hair. A quick look at the mirror told me that my makeup was still in place, nothing ran where it shouldn't have, a quick jab of lipgloss and I was out of the room. Walking to my station I found Martha already clocking out. "There you are," she said as she saw me. "I was about to come and wake you up. And looks like in good time too," she said as she smiled at a spot above my shoulder. Turning, I glanced to the door a groan working its way up my throat. "You have got to be kidding me!" Marsha laughed as she patted my shoulder, "good luck. Just make sure that you do not take it to f*******: again." I shot her a dark look before schooling my features and collecting the menus, it was time to get to work. Getting to the table I smiled at the trio, "Good afternoon. What can I do for you today?" Green eyes locked with mine, and for a few seconds I forgot how to breathe. As if he knew what he was doing to me, he smirked a little before looking at his companions. "We will have the same wine we had when we were here last time." I nodded, basically that was the only thing I could do. "And for lunch?" I groaned inward. Was that my voice? It sounded so breathless and needy. Diana was right, I thought to myself. I really needed to get laid. "I don't think she heard you, dude." I snapped out of my thoughts, only to find three pairs of eyes on me. A furious blush took over my face and I wished the floor could have just opened and swallowed me. Clearly my throat, I glanced at my shoes. "I am sorry. What was your order again?" "I told you," the blonde one gave a low chuckle. "The same as last time, beautiful. You do remember that order, right?" Did he just call me beautiful? I nodded my head, and turned away, walking as fast as I could in my heels. Getting to my station I heaved a huge sigh, thanking the miracle that got me there without tripping and embarrassing the heck out of myself. As I waited for their order to be prepared, I made my rounds around the other tables, collecting dirty dishes and billing. After a few minutes I was back on my station, just in time to collect the trio's order. Wheeling the three plates to them, I quickly set the dishes before them, keeping my eyes from them. When I was done, I pasted a smile on my face, and with a quick "Enjoy you meal," I wheeled my tray away. "You look as if you are suffocating," Tyrell drawled as he made his way to my station. I glared at him, "don't even ask." Tyrell laughed, "the terrible trio giving you a hard time?" I shook my head, "for some crazy reason, they are not that bad today. I got some smiles and a few sentences out of them." "You are making progress!" Tyrell laughed. "So, tell me honey, did you ever find out the man behind our crazy adventures?" I sighed and leaned back, crossing my arms around my waist. "I have no idea. I wonder if he is going to show himself soon." "I hope so," Tyrell said as he looked over to his side of the restaurant. "I want to have some fun this weekend." "Seriously, Ty." I shook my head at him. "It's a Monday and you are already thinking about the weekend! And are you willing to sell me out for a night of fun?" "If you are talking about private jets and champagne worth my year's salary, hell yeah!" Tyrell replied. "I better go, Grizzly Bear is overly grizzly today." I looked over his shoulder, seeing Antony making his way around the tables. He did look grumpier than normal, and those are the times we all knew to be on our best behaviors. After Tyrell left I went back to my job, occasionally walking to a table for refills or to take the bills. I was from collecting the bill when I heard my name being called. "Kimberly." a deep, familiar voice called me. I frowned and turned to the trio. Even though we wore name tags, it was on rare occasions that our names were used. Mostly we got a little wave or an 'excuse me'. Pasting a smile I walked to their table. "Hi," I said as I approached them. "Is everything ok?" "Everything is ok, beautiful," the blonde one answered me, a smile playing on his lips. "Just bring us the check." "Alright, I will be with you in a minute," I turned and walked to my station, a frown on my face.  Why were they friendly today? I thought to myself as I punched in a few numbers. After printing the bill I quickly walked back to the table and handed it over to the blonde guy who had asked for it. I stepped aside and waited, watching with curiosity as he placed a number of bills without counting them. "Here you go, beautiful," he handed it back to me before they stood up as one and walked out, before waiting for their change. With a shrug, I walked back to my station, counting the bills my eyes widened. They gave me two hundred tip. I looked up to see if I could catch up with them, but they were already getting into their limousine. "Close that mouth before a fly gets in," Tyrell's voice brought me back from my shock. "What?" I blinked at him as I opened my cash register and placed the amount on the bill in. He waved to the door, "why do you look so shocked?" "They left me over two hundred as a tip! Do you think I was mean the last time I posted on f*******:?" 'Well, darling, I think it worked, you are now a lot richer than you were this morning.' Tyrell patted my shoulder with a smile. 'Are you going to post this on f*******: as well?' I bit my lip and gave him a small smile, 'I will have to. It won't be fair now, would it?' 'You better. Besides, maybe this can get us an outing this weekend from your secret admirer for good behavior,' he winked at me before walking back to his post. I smirked at his retreating back. Shaking my head, I could not wait until later on when I was able to access my phone so that I could post a thank you note on my status.                                                       Thank you, trio! You made my day! That was the first thing I did when I finally got on f*******: that evening as Tyrell and I waited for his boyfriend to come and get us. I was having dinner at their place that evening. "Well, have you updated yet?" Tyrell asked as he jumped from one foot to the other. "Just did," I replied with a smile before frowning at him. "What's your deal?" "I really wanna go." I shook my head, "then why don't you?" Tyrell feigned a shudder, "walking back in when Grizzly is in that mood? No thank you honey," he replied. I rolled my eyes at him, but I did understand why he would hesitate. Antony was not in his best behavior today. He snapped at everyone, for even the smallest mistake as to stand too close to the flower posts. I, too, had a run in with him today, all because my scarf was a little too much to the left. I know right! "I wonder what was his problem today?" "I don't know, I don't care. As long as he is not like this tomorrow. Where the heck is he?'"Tyrell glanced at his watch, just as Terence pulled to a stop in front of us. "You are late!" was the first thing Tyrell said as he got in and leaned over to give Terence a kiss. "I know," Terence said as he pulled the car back into the road. "Some i***t was causing a scene by the junction, we had to stop for a while. Hi, Kim." "Hi, Terence. Thanks for the dinner invitation." Terence smiled, "it's cool. I need your craziness tonight." "Me? Crazy?" I gasped. "Well I never!" "OMG!" Tyrell exclaimed as he turned on his seat and looked at me. "f*******:!" "Babes, please put your seatbelt on," Terence said without taking his eyes off the road. Tyrell huffed before sitting properly and buckling up. With a nervous finger, I drew the pattern that unlocked my phone. Clicking on the f*******: icon, I held my breath as I watched the page load. My status already had over twenty likes, but only one comment. Clicking it, my eyes bulged out.                                         You have been a good girl today, and for that you will be rewarded.                                          Expect a call from Mas this evening. I will not take no for an answer. I frowned, before typing a reply on the comment section.                                          Are you one of the trio that came into the restaurant this afternoon? I bit my lip, waiting for a reply, but nothing came through. By the time Terence pulled over at their apartment complex I had given up hope. Whoever this person was, they knew me. And what is Mas going to be calling me for? I sighed as I placed my phone back into my bag. Tyrell and I were sitting on the soft carpet with glasses of wine, while Terence was loading the dishwasher. We had our dinner already and we were full. I had been checking my phone after every five minutes, something that Terence had observed and called me on it. "Why do you keep checking your phone, Kim?" he had asked. '"Is there somewhere you have to be?" I had shaken my head and placed my phone away from me, to get rid of the temptation. And just as I was about to forget about the whole thing when my phone started ringing. Reaching for it, I quickly connected the call. "Hello?" "Miss Kimberly, it's Mas." I pushed Tyrell away as he was trying to listen, "hello, Mas. What can I do for you?" I asked, smiling at Tyrell as he grunted as I pushed him away from me once again. "I am to remind you that you will be flying to the Bahamas this Friday." I could feel my eyes growing big. "Wh-what?" "Flight to the Bahamas this weekend. You will be staying at the Grand Lucayan Resort, rooms have already been booked." "Rooms?" I could feel a headache making itself present. This was just too much now. "Yes, for you and your friends, of course. Also I will be available at the resort to make sure that everything you want to do, you can." I took in a deep breath, "b-but, I did not say yes to all this." Mas gave a small laugh, "I was told it was not a negotiation. You have an early shift at work on Friday, am I correct?" "How did you know that?" I frowned, feeling a little panicky. "Please, do not feel as if I am trampling around and stalking you, Miss Hall. You will come to understand all this very soon, maybe even during this trip. That aside, your flight will be leaving Friday evening at around four. That will give you ample time to pack, am I correct?" I shook my head. How did I get to this point? And who were these bosses of his who would spend a whole lot of money for people they did not know. "Do your bosses deal with drugs? Or human trafficking, by any chance?" I blurted out before I could stop myself, hissing when I felt Tyrell pinching my side. I turned to him and he indicated to Terence with his head. I turned, thanking God that he was far and could not have heard me. Instead of being angry, Mas laughed. "I can assure you, Miss Hall, that my bosses do not have any ties to the Mafia or any other organized crime family. They are legitimate businessmen who have money to spend." "It must be a lot of money," I mumbled. "Look, Mas. I am really flattered that your bosses would pay for a trip to Bahamas for the weekend but-," before I could finish my phone was snatched away from my hand. "What the heck!" "Hey, Mas, it's Tyrell. Kim will call you back in a few minutes, we have to talk to our other friends and see if they will be available to leave on Friday." Tyrell was quiet for a bit, just nodding his head and scrambling away from me as I made my way to him. "Oh, then that is fantastic!' He nodded again, "yes, but he has a case that he is working on and I don't think he will make it." He was quiet again, a frown on his face. "Ok, that is fine, I am sure her housemate won't mind joining us. Ok, darling, she will call you in a minute." I was standing with my arms crossed before me and my foot tapping, showing him that I was pissed off at him. Seeing this, he took my hand and pulled me upstairs. "Babes, I am going to show Kim something upstairs, we will be down soon," he called for Terence as he ushered me upstairs. Closing the door behind him he turned to me, "what the heck, girl!" "What?" I asked him, confused. "Are you going to pass out on a chance to go to the Bahamas, for the weekend, staying at the grandest place?" "Ty, you don't understand!" I groaned and flopped on the bed. "Aren't you even a bit worried as to why these people who do not want to be known are spending so much money on me-on us? Aren't you curious as to why? For f*ck's sake, Ty, I am getting scared." "But you will be safe," Tyrell walked and sat next to me. "Do you know how paranoid Terence is? He has tracking devices placed in some of my clothes, on my phone; heck if he could he would have implanted one on my person! Fred can sense danger a mile away. And do you think Sam would let anything happen to you? Baby girl, you are safe. You are not going alone." I bit on my lip. Not that I was not tempted, I was. Who wouldn't want to spend the whole weekend surrounded by sand and water? "How safe are we?" "We are safe, trust me." I took in a big breath before releasing it slowly. Running my hand through my short hair I shook my head at what I was about to do. "Ok, fine. But I am not going if Fred and Sam aren't going." Tyrell clapped his hands with happiness, before pulling me in a hug, "now come, let get downstairs before daddy comes looking for us." "Daddy?" I raised an eyebrow at him. Tyrell winked, "yeah. We sometimes do a bit of the naughty stuff that calls for some name calling. Daddy, sir, master, you know where I am going with this." "Eeewww!" I faked a shudder before following him down. "That's just too much info!" "Don't act all innocent," Tyrell waved me off. "I know for a fact that you are some crazy b***h when it comes to between the sheets. Now come, we have some calls to make, so that the faster we confirm the faster you get out of my apartment so I can convince this man of mine to let me go with you." I laughed at him, wanting the conversation to be over. At the end of it all my friends were up for the trip, including Diana, who was to replace Terence from what Tyrell had told me. We had called Mas to confirm only for him to tell us there was no need as everything was already confirmed. Sitting in the back of the taxi, my mind wondered as to why this was happening and who these people were. I was caught up in my thoughts that I jumped when my phone binged, indicating a f*******: notification (this was set up for me by Tyrell). Quickly unlocking my phone, I clicked on the f*******: icon, before frowning at an inbox. See you in the Bahamas!
