CHAPTER 7All day Thursday I was fidgety that the stranger would not return to the cabin that night after Jeff’s interruption. It all seemed too good to be true. The information he promised exceeded any of my expectations. I knew there had to be a common link out there, someone who could connect all the aspects of this story. I had always thought that a former Baldwin-Felts detective could shed the light on a lot of things, but I never dreamed one would come forth, and especially not without the expectation of a big pay-off.
