Chapter 9
Traffic snarled as he started towards the law firm location Jake gave him. He parked on the side and while waiting for Jake to come out, he texted Abe to apologize that he and Jake couldn’t make it. Kylie had called earlier in the day to find out if they could get together before they headed out west. He loved his brother; there wasn’t anything he would rather do but patch things up. They obviously were going to disagree with Abe and Kylie’s new venture, but it wasn’t worth it for them to have a strained relationship about it.
But tonight was important. He wanted to make sure that Jake wasn’t being sucked into some criminal enterprise.
