"How did you tell Devin?" "I told her in a supermarket, she asked why I kept following her and if she needed to call the police." I heard Mark laugh lightly and I cracked open an eye to see Dean and Mark just sitting across from my bed. Dean was on the computer and Mark was leaning back looking like he was trying to relax. "I just- with Sabine it was easy, it was like following a river. But she isn't even a wolf." "Woo her." Mark sighed out and cracked his knuckles. "When she wakes up, take her into town. Her sisters all like dancing so maybe there is a little bar. Take her there, get her some food. Get to know her." He told him and I just hid my smile as I pretended to turn over. "You awake over there?" I heard Dean and burrowed even deeper. "She's waking up, Devin does the same thing." Mark told him and I rubbed my head into the pillow. "Jezze, you can just tell they are sisters." Mark laughed lightly and I yawned. "What do you mean?" "Devin does all of that." He said and this time I turned over. "Devin does what?" I mumbled opening my eyes to look at them. "You guys just wake up the same way." He said and I sat up and wiped my eyes before feeling my fluffy hair. "Like what? Groggy?" "No, you turn over, snuggle in, and then rub only your hair in the pillow to make it all stand up and then yawn." He said it from memory and I just looked at him and blinked. "Call your mate and stop picking on me." I mumbled and got up. "Do we have any food here?" I asked rubbing my stomach as I walked towards the bathroom to fix my hair. "I was thinking about going into town to get everyone something." Dean said and I nodded. I wasn't going to just offer to go. "You want to come; we can get something there." "Eating without everyone else is bad manners." I said and yawned and came out of the bathroom. "I was thinking it was sort of making up for what I said earlier." He said and I just crossed my arms. "You know, not believing you." He said and coughed. "At least if I go with you, I can pick out my own food. I know for a fact a wolf will eat roadkill if it is cooked just right." I said and looked right at Mark who laughed and then cleared his throat. "Not funny." He mumbled and I rolled my eyes. "So, you are coming?" Dean asked standing up and I let my eyes wander over his body. He had thick muscles everywhere. It was like he was a piece of meat. Thick thighs, broad shoulders, arms that could squish me. His neck wasn't as bulgy as Mark’s, but you could see everything if he clenched his jaw. "Hello?" He asked waving his hand over his face. "Something wrong?" "Sorry just thought about today... what time is it?" I asked looking at both of them covering my tracks, so they didn't think I was just checking him out. "It's about 7. Are you coming?" Dean asked again and I just nodded. "Well get ready I am going to see what Adam and Jason want." "What about the other guy?" I asked feeling bad that I didn't remember his name. "Travis took Raven back on the plane already." Mark said sadly and I looked at him and nodded. Dean just looked a little tense but nodded and walked out. "Tell him Lewis will wait for everything here to be over." Raven appeared walking through the closing door Dean just went out of looking almost at peace. "She said that your brother will hold off on the funeral until everything here is taken care of." "The asshole couldn't even give me a straight answer on the phone earlier." He mumbled and I looked to Raven. "That asshole is your brother, the only sibling you have left." Raven said shaking her head at him and I almost wanted to smile. "What is she saying now? That I have to be nice to little Lewis for her?" Mark asked and then laughed lightly. "No, she said you have to because he is your only sibling left." I said and looked away. "Did you call Dev?" I asked and he shook his head. "I'll call while you guys are out... and by the way Dean is your mate." "I know, Raven told me earlier on the trail." I said and he sat forward and looked at me. "What he didn't say anything, and I was waiting for him. I'm a witch not a wolf. I don't know what happens when you finally find your mate." I said and shrugged sitting down where Dean had been when I woke up the first time. I tugged on my shoes and leaned back. "He is taking you out on a date... not just to get food." He told me and I nodded. "I woke up when you started laughing, I didn't get a chance to do what I always do to wake up. You two can't whisper for shit." I said and rubbed my eyes one more time. "Well get your coat on, he's coming back this way." Mark said and nodded towards it. "And don't let him know that you know, let him be awkward. That man needs a little teasing for what he said earlier to you." "Yes, Prince Mark." I said and he glowered at me as I put on my coat. "You ready?" Dean said sticking his head in. "Yeah." I said zipping up my coat and then looking at my shoes to make sure they were on right. "See you soon Mark." Dean said as I walked out. "I don't have to sit in the back, again do I?" I asked knowing it was only us two in the big car. "No, right beside me is fine." He said and I nodded as he unlocked the car and opened my door. "Who knew wolves could be so nice." I teased getting in. The only one Mark has ever opened a door for is Devin unless we were all coming in at the same time. "What else are we good for?" He asked teasing back and closed my door before hurrying around to the other side. "Throw rugs?" I asked teasingly and he blanched white as a sheet and I giggled and buckled up as he did and started the car. "So, what is your favorite thing to eat?" He asked after getting onto the highway. "Out of everything? Tacos." I said with a wide smile and just thought about the taco truck I follow on Twitter that give out the best food. "What about you?" "I like homemade soups or stews." He said and I just nodded. I learned a little bit from my mom just not everything. "What do you do?" He asked looking over at me briefly and I just bit my lip thinking about how silly it will sound. "I catalogue dresses for a designer." I said and leaned back. "What do you do exactly?" I asked turning to face him now. "Before I was in the Were Enforcers, I was just working at the Lumber Mill in my hometown. I actually lived where your sisters are for about 5 years." He told me and I just nodded. "How old are you?" I asked before he continued. "I am 29." "So, what do you do for the enforcers?" I asked and he sighed. "I am a behind the scenes man mostly. I track the teams, I use the new gadgets with thermal imaging, I disarm bombs, stuff like that." "You're the geek?" I asked looking at him like he was playing around, even though he looked completely serious. "I've always been good with computers and new things. I am a fast learner." He told me and sent me a smile. "And what about your family... parents? Brothers and sisters? Kids?" I asked and he sighed. "My parents are dead... my sister killed them. And she is locked up for life in a werewolf prison. My parents were not the best people. One day my sister snapped, and she shifted, and her wolf got out of control." He said and I just swallowed hard. "As for kids, no. My mate, my first mate, died before we even really talked about babies. I met her when I was 20, joined her pack, and within 3 years she was killed in a rogue attack." "How long ago?" I asked softly and he took a breath thinking back. "About 6 years now." He said and I just nodded and looked down. "I'm sorry." I said and looked out the window. "What about you. I have heard something's about Devin, what about everything else?" "Well my parents died 4 years ago... plane crash. I am the middle child. Devin is older, a lawyer, and then Ivory is the youngest and she is going to school to be a doctor." I said and shrugged it off. "Were your parents wolves too?" "Yeah, and my sisters and I are all the chosen wolf witches or whatever Lewis calls us." I said shrugging again. "What does that mean?" He asked glancing over at me. "Well after our parents died, we went to this witch because Devin's powers were starting to get out of control, she was shocked to hear about us. She told us this legend or prophecy or whatever." I said and swallowed. "It's goes 'Once the three are mated, the dead will rise, only sending one with the dead will the peace arise.' So that means one of my sisters are going to die. And we already know it isn't Devin and Mark." I said and swallowed hard. "How do you know for sure?" He asked and I noticed his grip on the wheel tighten. "The witch who told us the prophecy can do a spell that looks into our future, shows everything. Apparently, Mark and Devin are going to have a lot of kids." I said laughed lightly. "And what about you? Did she tell you your fortune?" "She can only do it with the two mates. She has to have some hair and blood." I said and licked my lips. "There is a place to eat." I said pointing to a little café. "Yeah, let's eat here and then bring back everyone's food." He said after hearing my stomach growl loudly. I got out and shut the door before bee lining right to the front door and opening it for myself and Dean barely kept it open before letting himself in and I walked to the front car type thing and picked up the small menu and hummed to the song playing above. "You know how Devin and Mark are mates? Even though she is a witch..." Dean started off and I nodded flipping the menu over and seeing that they had breakfast all day. "What can I get you two?" I looked up at the waitress and then towards Dean. He hadn't said anything, and his eyes were focused on me. "I'll have a decaf coffee to start, and a number 3." I said and licked my lips at the thought of French Toast. "And you?" She asked looking at Dean and he seemed to snap out of it. "Regular coffee for me, and a-" He stopped and took the menu from me, running his eyes over it quickly. "Round house burger." He told her after a moment, and she nodded. "It'll be about 15 minutes." She told us before walking away to get two mugs. She came back and then filled our cups. "Thank you." I said as she walked away towards someone who had just come to sit down. I felt something off and looked around not seeing anyone out of place, but I just felt it. "This might sound a bit weird, but how many people to you count in this place?" I asked counting only 17 people. "What?" Dean asked and I looked around again before right into his eyes. They were sort of grey and had a blue tint just near the pupil. "I feel something off, I see 17 people, how many do you see." I asked snapping out of it and looking around again still counting 17, all in the same place. "Okay." He said and ran his eyes over the room before sitting forward. "I count 15." He told me and I just nodded. "Did you count the waitress and everyone?" "No, I knew you saw her." I said and he nodded. "So, do you see the couple with the 3 kids?" I asked making sure both parents were there. "Yeah. The next table has what looks like two brothers." "Only two?" I asked and he nodded. "I see four." I said and looked at the table again and met eyes with one of them, and he reached over and tapped his other brother before they both stood up and walked through the two live ones. "Here they come." I nodded and turned back around. "You can see us girly?" One guy asked and I just met his eyes and nodded slowly. "I'm Roy, and this is my brother Luther." The other guy said and pushed his brother out of the way. "I'm Aurora." I said and they both looked at me. "Those your brothers over there?" I asked already knowing the answer. "One is, the other is our cousin." Roy said and I nodded. "What are you guys doing lingering around?" I asked them and I saw Dean lean in closer. "We have a stash... of money that they can really use. Almost 15 grand." Luther said and I looked at them both. "Can you tell them where we put it?" I nodded and sighed. "I'll be right back." I told Dean quietly and stood up and walked towards the men. "Hi, I'm Aurora Ames, and this might sound really weird or strange, but I can talk to the dead." I said approaching the boys and they both just gave me a 'yeah right' look. "Look lady, I am sure you are good at what you do but we don't have any extra money to get our palms read." "I don't want your money, in face Luther and Roy are here right now, and they have some good news for you two." I said and they both looked so shocked that they could speak. "The one on the left in Daniel and he's our baby brother, and our cousin is William." Roy said and I just looked at them. "Daniel and Will, right?" I asked pointing to them each to show I knew their names. "Who have you been talking to?" Will asked leaning back and not looking amused at all. "Roy and Luther, like I said, are here right now, and they told me to inform you that they have a stash of money that you two could really use right now." I said and looked to my side where Roy was. "And where would that lovely stash be?" Will asked sarcastically. "That is still a lady you are talking to Will. Here, take a seat." Daniel said and moved over, and I smiled at him and sat down. "Can you just prove it to him... you know, get Roy to talk about his many asswhoopins, excuse my language." They are some real country boys. "Alright, if you can tell me what they used to call me when I was a little then I will believe you." Will said and the two ghosts to my right just started laughing. "We called him Free Willy because he was so fat, and one time on the trampoline he jumped over all three of us and off the side." Roy laughed and I covered my mouth before laughing. "They called you Free Willy because of what happened on the trampoline, and because of your size." I said with a small giggle and then covered my mouth. "I am so going to start calling you that again." Daniel laughed and I just kept my lips together. "But how-?" "They're here... right there. Still laughing about the nick name." I said nodding to my right and both boys just seemed to focus on the empty space as it was to the them. "Tell them the stash is hidden under my nightstand. I have a loose board and it's in an old box." Luther told me and I just nodded. "The money is under Luther's nightstand. He said there is a loose board and it is all in an old box." I said and they both looked confused. "It should be about 15,000 dollars." I told them and when they both looked speechless, I stood up and walked towards Dean who had been watching me closely. "They take everything okay?" He asked and I nodded as I sat down. "Since I have started doing this, I always feel way better about using this talent. Like it is natural." I said and saw my coffee and just picked it up and took a large gulp. "How did you know there was a dead person here?" He asked and I shrugged. "I just get this feeling like something isn't supposed to be here. Nothing like a bad thing, just something, I don't know how to explain it." I said and looked around the place again. "Why did you ask me about Devin being Mark's mate earlier?" I asked looking back to him like I had just remembered. "Oh- uh- just wondering if you knew that was going to happen to you as well." He said and I nodded. "The witch I talked about earlier she told me little things about my future mate." I said and met his eye and just held it for a long time. "Like what?" He asked and I noticed him swallow hard. "Like he had a mate before, just like you. That he also didn't have parents, just like you. That he had a sister, just like you. That he was a warrior, just like you." I said and he started nodding and chuckled before leaning in slowly. "And that he has been waiting for his new mate." "Just like me." He whispered getting even closer and I blinked. "But she said nothing about how his eyes would make me lose focus on everything around me. Or how he is a little bossy, and nervous around new territory. Or how he tries to be mischievous by playing on my hunger to get me out on a date." I said with a small laugh. "You said nothing about how happy and lucky I am to have found you." He said and I just looked away blushing just a bit and he moved in and kissed the corner of my mouth making this feeling spread through me like a whirl wind and I just went wide eye and met his eye, and he just kept smiling down at me. "You're finally here." I looked a little to my left and saw a woman and my heart immediately sank wondering where she had been buried. "I'm Sabine Harper... Dean's first mate."
