"Mark!" I shouted when he just started digging. He looked up at me and growled and I looked towards Raven.
"Tell him it is shallow." She said and I nodded.
"It's shallow... be careful." I said and he looked back towards his paws and started doing it slower.
"Will you find all of us?" Chrissy asked and I looked at her and nodded. "I'm not that far from here." She said and smiled.
"Show me." I said and she held out her hand and I pretended to take it, keeping her hand passing through my own.
"Where are you going?" I heard Dean ask and I looked back at him.
"I'll be right back." I said and he kept looking after me and I focused back on the Chrissy. "Where?" I asked when she stopped.
"Right under there." She said pointing to a couple of big rocks in a ditch.
"Under the rocks?" I asked and she nodded so I walked closer and started moving them away, working up a sweat.
"What are you doing?" I heard someone else and looked up to see Jason walking closer.
"I am exhuming a little girl from under these rocks." I told him and something flashed across his face before he started helping me, going way faster than I did. "Oh god." I whispered seeing a little piece of fabric sticking out of some dirt while parts of the skull sticking out.
"Is that me?" Chrissy asked loudly and I looked back at her to see her with wide eyes.
"Yes Chrissy... how long have you been here?" I asked her and she shrugged.
"She's been here for over 8 years..." Tanya said and I looked at women again and they all looked ready to cry for little Chrissy. She walked closer towards Tanya and she pulled her into her body and kept her close.
"Can we find my mommy and daddy?" She asked and I nodded right away.
"I wish you could see into our minds and see what this guy looks like." One of the girls said and I just looked back down to see Jason using his hands to carve out her little body that was all bones and ripped up parts of her green dress.
"I told you to bring her back, not-" I heard Dean and looked over my shoulder as he got closer to what we were doing. "She's small."
"Meet Christine Kerns." I said and looked over the body that we were carving out and he just looked at it. "She is 6 years old and has been here for 8." I said and then got out of the ditch and dusted my hands off.
"You okay?" He asked coming closer and I just sighed.
"There are 22 more girls here." I told him looking at them and Chrissy and taking a deep breath.
"How are we going to explain this to the parents and families?" Jason asked getting out of the ditch now as well and wiping his hands on his pants.
"We're going to tell them the truth, I speak to the dead, and they told me their resting places." I said and crossed my arms.
"We're going to have to call the authorities... that way we aren't just showing up with dead bodies." Dean said and I just looked down.
"I should get a list of everything to describe these girls." I said and cracked my neck. "I am about to blow people’s minds."
"You've blown mine." Jason sighed out and looked around.
"Mine too." Dean said and when the wind picked up, I felt them both tense and look around. "Take her back towards Mark." Dean told Jason and took off in one direction and I looked towards Jason.
"Come on." He said waving me closer and I walked with him looking over my shoulder as Dean got lost in the trees. "Dean and I picked up on a scent... he took off after it." He said when Mark looked over at us still in his big wolf form.
"We should probably get Raven home before we call anyone huh?" I asked looking at the other guys now a well.
"Call someone?" Adam asked looking between me and Jason.
"You don't think we can just uncover these bodies, tell their families 'hey, here's your daughter or wife or mom we found her body buried in the woods' do you? Especially without questions being asked." I said and looked at him with my eyebrow raised.
"Guess not." He said and looked towards Mark. "We'll get Raven settled and one of us will fly back with her." He said and Mark just nodded his big wolf head.
"I need to call my sisters." I said and Mark sat on his hind legs like he was waiting for something and I just opened my backpack and took it out seeing I actually had 2 bars, so I went through the numbers and hit Devin's.
"Hey, how is it going?" I put it on speaker wondering if Mark needed that.
"Well... we've hit a hitch in our plan."
"What? What's going on?" She asked and I knew she was scared.
"There are a lot more girls out here..." I said and looked around.
"What do you mean?"
"Only I can see them." I said not wanting to go into even more details.
"Oh my god... how many is a lot more?" She asked and I heard someone else talking. "Hold on I am going to put you on speaker."
"Hey sissy, what's up?"
"We're going to be here a lot longer than we thought." I said and looked at all the girls. "23 more girls are here." I said and rubbed the back of my neck and then jumped when I heard a crunch behind me. I turned seeing Dean walking back.
"23... damn. Should we come out there then?" Ivory asked and Mark growled.
"I think Mark just said no." I said and he nodded his head. "Yeah he said no. You are staying right where you are." I said and he made a new noise and I just looked at him. "Hold on, he is writing something in the dirt with his claws." I said and waited. "He wants to know about you and the baby Devin." I said reading it.
"We're fine babe. Woke me up at 3am this morning for some cheese. I was caught eating the brick by Greyson who thought I was one of the kids..." She said and laughed. "Call me later, sounds like you have a busy day ahead of you." She said and I looked to Mark and he nodded.
"Yeah, love you. Mark loves you too." I added when he stepped forward.
"Love you both, be careful." She told me and I rolled my eyes at her antics and then hung up.
"Let's get you back to the cabin, get Mark dressed and Adam and Travis will take care of Raven." Dean said and the two nodded and walked towards the bag that had once been on Mark's back and took out blankets to wrap the sort of fresh body in.
Looking in the hole I saw some slime and it was enough to make me gag before Dean was in front of me and blocking my view. "You shouldn't have looked." Jason told me softly as he went to help.
"Let's get back to the cabin and write everything down. Hopefully by the time we get everything down Raven will be on her way home." Dean said touching the small of my back and then guiding me away. "You okay?" Dean asked and I nodded.
"Was just not what I was expecting." I said and rubbed my stomach and swallowed hard.
"You want to take a moment to collect yourself?" He asked and I shook my head. "We'll head back then, Mark." He nodded to the wolf and I sighed and looked around before following the all black wolf as he trotted around. Dean was behind me again the whole time making sure I didn't fall.
We got back to the cabins and I sat down on the bed as Mark got dressed. Thankfully no one was even out this far. This place was only to rest for hunting and since it was past hunting season it was empty woods, or so we think.
"Does anyone have any paper or anything?" I asked knowing I had a pen in my bag somewhere.
"Yeah, hold on." Dean said and I nodded and looked around waiting. "Here, three papers." He said and I pulled out my pen and looked at the girls.
"Should we start with the one who has been here the longest?" I asked and a 16-year-old stepped forward. Julia Milano 16 disappeared 12 years ago from school parking lot. She was a wolf, and she was also from a pack in the everglades in Florida.
The youngest was Chrissy, the oldest was 35, she was a mom of 5 kids, a wolf. Her mate died trying to save her, he was already injured from an invasion a couple days before. Her name was Lisa Denali. She has been missing for 11 years, and she cried so much through her story I started sobbing too. She was the last one I got the information from, and I barely had room.
"You're done Aurora, come on, lie down for a little while and then we can go get dinner." Dean said picking me up slightly and then laying me down in my bed before pushing back my hair. "Just take a nap." He murmured and I nodded to him and snuggled into my blankets as he kept pushing my hair back.
