I wake up rubbing my eyes and sit up, still half asleep. I take my phone, which is not where I left it and my eyes shoot open. I frantically look for my phone, while my mind runs in twenty different directions. He stole it, the ass! But then I hear it ring, digging through the blankets I grab it and answer
“Hello” I answer and I am met with my mom’s frantic voice
“Oh thank God, I’ve been calling for 20 minutes now” she says and I plop down on the bed
“Sorry mom, I fell asleep”
“Oh sorry honey, I just wanted to know if you heard anything?” her voice cracking
