Dawn POV “Okay Pops, drive safe” I say kissing his cheek “Lock the doors, see ya in the mornin’ pickle” he says and I wave him out the door “Yes, yes. Now go have fun” I say and stop on the porch looking at him leave. He’s taking Lou to a fancy dinner and then they’re sleeping over somewhere, he was very vague about it. Sneaky old man “Have fun Pops” I say watching the truck drive off “Well Colt, it’s just you and me buddy” I say and he barks happily “Let’s get inside” I say and turn around. I lock the door and snuggle into the couch, flipping through a magazine. No TV, go figure “Oh Colt look, I’m still in rehab, hah! Like they have no idea” I chuckle. The fire crackles, the house is eerily quiet, except for Colt’s snoring, this combination soothes me into a deep, restful sleep.
