Ilona The sight of Theo walking away without looking back broke my heart. Yet, I stood still like a statue. I didn’t run after him nor did I call out for him. I let him leave me, the packhouse, and Crimson Crest. Had I been stubborn? Yes. It was one of my flaws, but Theo wasn’t a saint either. His assumptions and shallow views of women being weak riled me up. It reminded me so much of my father that I couldn’t bear to hear anymore. My heart was torn but my logical reasoning got the best of me. I knew Theo could never last for long in Crimson Crest, not with my father’s obnoxious rules. So, with a heavy yet determined heart, I pressured him to go. With mixed feelings of anger, disappointment, and sadness, I kept my eyes fixed on Theo until he disappeared out of my sight.
