Chapter 7

Nick and I were walking silently. We’re going to their friend’s hang out place. I already knew all of his friends but he’s going to take me there to introduce us to his girlfriend. I feel giddy and nervous at the same time.

I can feel my heart start to beat fast and my hands start to tremble. I wanted to go back to our classroom but I knew Nick would feel bad about it.

I noticed some students keep glancing at us and their whispering did not escape my sight. It made me nervous more.

I know they knew what’s my relationship to Nick now. That’s because of my best friend, Gio. He posted it on his f*******: and when I found out about it it’s already has a thousand likes. Sometimes I really want to find replacement best friend.

"Babe, are you ok?” Nick asked. It brought me back to my senses.

I look at him and nod. "I’m ok," I said even though I'm not really okay.

He grabbed my hand and pulled me to the side corner of the hallway where nobody was.

He held both my shoulder and turned me to face him. "I don’t think you’re alright. I can see that somethings bothering you and I don’t know if its about meeting my friends? Or was it because I announce our relationship to our classmates without asking permission to you? Please tell me! I like the feeling that you’re not okay with something I did. Tell me please, I'm sorry if-"

I cut him off and shook my head. "No nick, you’ve done nothing wrong. I'm just trying to adjust about, you know, our relationship. But I'm okay, though I feel kinda little awkward because of the stares that our schoolmates have giving us." I admit.

He heavily sighs in relief. "Don’t mind them." his hold in my hand get tight. "Just focus on me, ok babe?" he added and smile.

I nod my head and smiled at him too. He pulled me again and we walk together not minding the others.

When we finally get out of the building 4. We saw immediately the quadrangle of school which where you can find students hanging out. It’s easy to find where is Nick’s friends are.

The first one to notice us where his friend, Nathaniel. Nathaniel Alegre is also a popular guy in the entire school. He was a quiet and snob, that makes other girls like him more. Even though sometimes you feel that he was annoyed or sometimes he has an aura that tells you ‘don’t talk to me’.

"Hey bro!" Nathaniel greeted Nick and turned to me. "Hi Cath!" he added.

I smile at him. "Hello!” I said greeting him back. He smiled back at me and he looks down and continues sipping his drinks.

Damien also looked at us. "Bro!" he smirks as he stares at me. "Hey Cath! I notice we run into each other very often." He put his both hands inside his pants pocket. "and you’re with Nick again like yesterday afternoon."

He stands up and walks closer to me. He was about to hug me when Nick stop him again like he did yesterday.

"Don’t you dare" Nick warned Damien.

Damien chuckled while shaking his head "I just want to hug her. You’re too protective bro." He teasingly said as he’s smile gets wider.

Nick grab my hand and hold it up for his friend to see. "Was that bad? Protecting my girlfriend?"

He’s friend fell their mouth open.

I felt I’m going to hyperventilate. My cheeks flushed.

I was surprised when they suddenly yelling at nick. I could feel the heat on my cheeks again. I feel they're happy for nick and it feels so good that his friends are okay with our relationship.

"Congrats Bro!" Nathaniel says.

"Nice one bro! We didn’t know that you courted her. I thought you’re not going to man up and make her yours" it was Bryle, one of Nick’s friend. Bryle Santillan is also a good-looking person. He was a gentleman but a playboy.

Their other friend Tristan, also congratulate us. Tristan Del Valle is also a quiet one like Nathaniel but Tristan is way more mysterious in all of them.

The five of them were best of friends since elementary. You can’t also deny that the five of them we’re blessed on their outside appearance. If you’re with them, you might think that you’re in Mount Olympus.

I was busy looking at them while they teasing Nick. Until Tristan gets my attention.

He clears his throat. "Since when did you start dating Nick? Was it before Nick went to the US?" He seriously asked me. He looks like he’s curious to know my answer.

I shook my head. "No! It’s last night.”

He smiles at me and turns to Nick. "You take care of her Nick! If you hurt her, even just once forget that you were my friend."

I felt weird when I heard it at the same time surprised.

Nick look at Tristan seriously. "You know I love her for a long time now. And I'm not going to mess this up. Not now that she's mine already." He said that made me bow down my head because I can feel my cheeks blushed. Nick grab my waist and pull me closer to him. We look like were hugging.

"Good then!" Tristan response and give a fist bump to Nick.

I remember, freshman year, Tristan is so nice and kind towards me. I thought he’s like that to every girl around him but as Gio told me he isn’t. I know he cares for me and I don’t want to give malicious meaning about it. I can feel he's just giving me a big brotherly vibe.

It became silent for a moment until Damien breaks it again.

"When did Nick start courting you Cath? Was that the reason why I saw you both yesterday at the parking lot?" he paused and chuckled. "Was it the reason why you’re too eager to shoo me at that time." He teasingly says to Nick.

My boyfriend gives him a murderous look. But Damien doesn’t mind about it and still.

"Don’t be too serious about its Nick... we’re just too happy for both of you." He mischievously looks at me. "Cath can you please kiss nick. So, he can calm down." He added.

I flushed and hide my face in Nick’s chest as they start to laugh loudly.
