15 Violet’s eyes widened before the barkeep and her sped up the stairs. The weeping woman trembled in her friend’s arms as Violet came up to them. “Which room?” The hysterical woman pointed at the hall behind the wall above the bar. “R-room twenty.” “Take care of her,” Violet commanded the other woman as the barkeep and she disappeared. Tristan looked to us. “We had better follow. I don’t believe coincidence is at play here.” He led our group up the stairs and down the long hall of the building. Room twenty stood at the end of the hall and we found a small crowd at an open door. Violet and the barkeep were already in the single-room apartment.
