21 We stepped out of the carriage and I walked toward the front doors. “Chris,” Alex called to me as he trotted up to my side. He held a small book in his mouth. “You dropped this in the carriage.” I took the book and nearly slapped myself. It was the diary of Lord Blisse. “Thanks,” I replied as I tucked the book into my coat, but more firmly. I glanced at Tristan, expecting a curious eye, but his face was turned away from me as he passed by me. I frowned, but followed him and the others inside.
