Lady Night froze and turned to Gwyn, he who had shouted that name. “What does that name mean to me?”
Gwyn scoffed. “Do not try to lie. I would know that taunting anywhere. You used it a great deal in the mining camps.”
“I don’t have time for this,” Lady Night replied as she moved to follow Lukar.
Gwyn fired off his gun ahead of her. The ‘bullet’ hit the ground just in front of her foot. She spun around to face us and threw back her hood to reveal her true face, that of Violet. Her hair was tied in a tight bun and her eyes flashed with a mixture of anger and disgust as she glared at Gwyn.
“How dare you speak of that time so flippantly!” she snapped at him. “You cheated me out of my money, and now you cheat me out of my prey!”
