“One”
"This is the final boarding call for the remaining passengers of flight 0025DBK bound for Bangkok City. Please proceed to gate 17. I repeat, this is the final call for flight 0025DBK. Thank you."
Brandon cursed himself mentally for not accepting the private jet flight offered by his uncle Max. He had a personal business to take care of before leaving Jeju Island the night before. The jet had flown to Bangkok the day before. Now Bran is running late for his international flight at Incheon International Airport in Seoul.
Ignoring the lewd stares from all kinds of travelers at the airport, he finally made it to the gate with only a couple of minutes to spare before he saw the door closing on the plane he boarded on. "Woah! I was really the last one?" He couldn't help but exclaim after getting inside the aircraft at the last minute.
The tall male attendant smiled at Bran and nodded. "That's right, handsome. Now, please get to your seat."
"Thanks."
The attendant gave him another nod, this time with his brows. Bran smiled sheepishly and walked towards the business class. He deposited his carry on which was his only other set of luggage into the overhead bin. His other bag was small enough to keep under the seat.
Bran closed his eyes and heaved a sigh while listening to the in-flight announcement made by the captain addressing the attendants and the crew. It was then followed by the safety demonstration. He didn't need to see it. He had memorized these procedures like the back of his hand.
Brandon has traveled by plane quite a lot during his high school years. He's been sent to various schools all over Asia as an exchange student representative of his alma mater-Korea International School, Jeju Campus.
Brandon Vongvanich was only nine when his father Benjamin sent him to live with his uncles Max and Tul together with their twin daughters Shin-hye and So-hyun in Seoul. He then transferred to Jeju during his high school year.
Bradley Vongvanich aka Max is the current the chairman of Park Group, he was needed back in the home country of the conglomerate that his grandparents had established. Benjamin saw that opportunity to send his eldest child away from Bangkok City. Away from someone.
Throughout the flight, Brandon was approached multiple times by the same attendant asking about his comfort and other needs. Bran just subtly declined the offer every time it would come.
At eighteen years old, Brandon had grown into a handsome young man. He has black hair, thick brows, black round orbs, a straight nose with a little button like feature, red plump lips, and smooth white skin. He knows full well the effect he has on all genders. Alpha. Beta. Omega. Males and females alike.
When he was studying at Korea International School, Bran had dated quite a few boys and girls. And he dumped them before he got attached. The last one he was in relationship with turned out to be someone who knows his family background back in Thailand.
He was a good kid but Bran doesn't do serious relationships. Their goodbye was a sad one and Bran ended up staying another night in Jeju instead of spending it in Seoul to prepare for his flight.
He had to console the crying boy. For an alpha, Nam Soon Beppu was a little too sensitive for his own good. And him knowing and talking fondly of the Vongvanichs and Jarupanivhs made Bran feel at peace being with him.
After more than a five a hour flight, Brandon's plane landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport. He was excited. And nervous to be back to the Land of Smiles after so many years. He couldn't wait to get off the plane and drive to his grandparents ancestral home.
The thought lingered in his mind until he recalled the magazine he had read about his cousin, Finnegan Jarupanivh a few weeks ago. 'I should just go to my parents' house.' Bran decided.
Benjamin and Irene stayed at the penthouse they lived in before Bran was born. It's in the same building Irene works as the owner of her own designing company.
Bran was hesitant to come back to his parents' house for several reasons. The biggest one being his father sending him away and not telling him why. He was very young back then. And as he grew up, he considered Max and Tul more as his parents than his own.
The eighteen year old wouldn't have resented his father if he didn't have anybody whom he would miss so much for leaving. But then he was thankful somehow for not seeing that someone if it would only break his heart to be so.
Bran didn't notice he was already the last passenger to leave the plane. "Last one to board, last one to get off. Do you have a habit of being the last in things you do, handsome? The say nice guys always finish last." The same attendant approached Bran again.
The young man snorted softly at the notion. He didn't take it the negative way. It's true that although he topped his classes ever since he was young, there were a quite a lot of things he is always the last one to know of. Like his cousin getting a lover and even announced it in a magazine. "Ain't that a bitch." Brandon muttered under his breath.
"I'm sorry?" The attendant asked confusedly.
"It's nothing. Anyway, thanks for the... extra attention... Mr... flight attendant." Brandon smiled at the tall guy and dragged his luggage that the latter helped him lower from the overhead bin.
Brandon didn't tell his parents when exactly he's coming home. He had asked his uncle not to tell his father that he didn't board the Park Group CEO's private jet. No one is picking him up, he has to get a taxi.
With his backpack and carry on luggage, Bran headed to the arrival area. His heart tightened seeing families unite with their loved ones. He can't blame his mother or his younger sisters for not being there to pick him up. It was his choice not to let them know.
He walked out of the building and waited for a taxi which didn't take long. When he got inside and told the driver his parents' address, he spotted someone familiar walking towards the entrance of the arrival area. Bran's heart skipped when he recognized the figure.
Finnegan Jarupanivh.
'Did he know I was coming back today?' Brandon thought. He suddenly asked the driver to stop. But then his heart sank when his cousin was met by an embrace of a beautiful young woman right outside the building. It's the same girl he saw with Finn on the magazine he read a few weeks ago.
"We can go now. It was nothing." Bran told the driver.
'What was I expecting? He probably forgot about me already.
You've changed, P'Finn. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to agree to my mother about coming back home.'
Tears fell from Brandon's eyes as the taxi made its way completely out of the airport premises.
