Jhonny's mistake

Before entering the arena, Max and the rest of the participants were given the balloon they were supposed to protect. It looked like a regular balloon floating in the air at first, but Max realized that it was made from a unique material to make it more robust than average. As a result, it won’t be blown up by a simple touch, and someone needs to exert more power.

It can also sink under the water and not float in case the arena that they are getting into is the water arena. So even if someone was to fly, it won’t be left behind and will still follow nicely behind them.

Entering the desert arena, Max can feel the scorching heat. He can feel his body becoming a little bit sluggish due to it. Chloe, on the other hand, is sweating profusely. As someone who has water elements, she prefers to be in a cool and watery place. To be in this arena was already some kind of torture for her. Not only is her ability significantly reduced, but she also won’t be able to perform as well as before.

As every participant is already inside their designated arena, the match soon started. Between Max’s base and Hyacinth’s base, there is a vast plain full of sand without any place to hide. Some arena has buildings or rocks to be used as ambush place, but this arena isn’t one of them.

“Alright, this is what I’ve been waiting for. A head-on battle where I can show my strength.”

Jhonny is getting pumped up, and as soon as the timer goes to zero, he immediately moves forward. Although he mentioned earlier that he would become the tank, the heat seemed to be getting into his head as he forgot the strategy he suggested.

Jhonny leaped forward and ran through the desert. Although for some people, their movement will be hindered as their foot is slowly submerged into the sand, for Jhonny, who has strength five times than ordinary people, moved as if he is running on flat ground.

“Tch, that buffoon is doing anything as he please. You guys just tried to take down one or two balloons and let me handle the rest.”

This time, Chloe isn’t confident in facing five people by herself. However, she thinks that she would have no problem facing three people. After saying that, Chloe also moves forward to follow up with Jhonny.

“Max, Linda, what should we do? Should we go after them?”

Looking at their two teammates, who are already set off to face the enemy team, Max can only sigh and decided that they should back them up.

“No other choice. Norton, you prepare your ability, and I will boost it with my wind power. As for Miss Linda, I hope you don’t mind filling the support role and try to find a chance to blow up the enemy’s team balloon.”

Linda and Norton nodded, and they soon followed Jhonny and Chloe, who is ahead by a few seconds. Looking at Max’s team coming towards them, the enemy team is calmer and setting up their defense.

There seemed to be an earth-elemental hero on the enemy team as an earth wall is raised from the ground and creating a bunker. This is a good move since Max’s team couldn’t see what is happening behind the earth wall now.

Looking at that, Max tried to warn Jhonny, who is moving forward at full speed.

“Jhonny, calm down a bit and regroup with us.”

“Don’t worry. I got this. A simple earth wall couldn’t stop me.”

Max’s warning came to naught as Jhonny shrugs it off. Jhonny’s right hand then seemed to be enlarged for a bit, and its color turned darker.

“Break for me!”

Right now, Jhonny has arrived in front of the earth wall and sent a punch towards it. Clearly, his punch is quite powerful as it immediately creates a big hole and sends a lot of sand and dust into the air.

Jhonny wanted to climb into the hole he created and enter the enemy’s base, but Jhonny is pushed backwards as a huge boulder hits his body before managing to do that.

“Jhonny, are you okay?”

Norton is concerned about him, but it seemed that the worst outcome has happened. After landing in the distance, Jhonny managed to climb back up from the rubble, but his balloon was blown up.

“Damn, that hurts. But don’t worry, I’m alright, guys. I can still fight.”

Jhonny’s defense seemed to be strong enough to withstand the impact just now, but he didn’t realize that his balloon is gone.

“i***t. Your balloon is gone already. You can’t fight even if you want to.”

“What? When? How?”

Jhonny looked confused, but it was true as he looked back and confirmed that his balloon was gone.

“Jhonny eliminated. Please move outside of the arena.”

Hearing the announcement, Jhonny is dumbfounded, but there’s nothing he can do anymore. He can only hope his team can win, and he walked out of the arena to not hinder the match.

Looking at Hyacinth’s base, the earth wall has been patched up once more.

“That i***t is making this more complicated. Not like I have any expectation from him. You three, I think we should go back for now.”

Max, Linda, and Norton agree with the suggestion as they are retreating, but the opposition won’t let them off easily. This is their chance since the battle has turned into 4v5.

“Guys, they are retreating!”

“Let’s chase after them and don’t give them the chance to flee.”

“I agree.”

The earth wall is disappearing into the ground slowly as four people are coming out of it. Hyacinth, on the other hand, is still standing there doing nothing. It seemed that she trusted that her teammate would be able to handle the situation.

Chloe, whom they are most wary of, cannot unleash her full power in this environment, and they are confident that they could take her down. As for Max, Hyacinth has a weird feeling as if he is hiding something, but she wasn’t clear. After all, she never saw Max use his power or his ability.

“Not good! We’re being chased.”

Max realized that there are people that are coming after him and his teammates. If only Jhonny didn’t make such a mistake, they wouldn’t be at this kind of disadvantage, but he couldn’t change what’s already happen. He can only perform better to make sure his team got the win.
