Max's current stats

On Thursday, as scheduled, Max goes towards the United heroes association headquarters. He tried to ask Kalina about what is happening, but she is out of reach as she seemed to be busy chasing after the evil mastermind’s tail.

Entering the building, he asked the reception and immediately showed the way to the meeting place. It seemed that he comes early since nobody else was inside the room. However, not long after, a familiar face stepped into the room from the other.

“Is anybody here? Why it’s so quiet. Oh! I didn’t think that we could meet here today. I forgot to ask for your number last time. Can you give me your number?”

“Sure, no problem. It’s a surprise to see you here, Iki.”

The person that just comes in from the open door is Iki Hawthorn. Still donned with a blazing red costume and hair, he still looked imposing and energetic no matter what is the occasion.

“Yes. I hope we could get another chance to spar again. Honestly, I still couldn’t understand why I lost that day.”

“Sure, after all, I also want to spar with you.”

Max knows that there is no malice in Iki’s invitation for a sparring match. From Iki’s clear eye, Max knows that Iki doesn’t have any ulterior motives, and it is purely a spar. It is also an opportunity for him as he could spar more with strong people.

After exchanging numbers with Iki and chatted, soon more people entered the building, and they are all people that Max is familiar with. Kieran Sonus, Elica Rosebud, Beastboy, and finally Giovanni Goldlock. Kieran Sonus gives him an amiable smile, as expected of the good boy of the newcomer heroes.

Elica Rosebud, on the other hand, gives him a cold look. It seemed that she still bears a grudge from when he defeated her. Beastboy, without his transformation, looked like an everyday neighbor teen with thick glasses and reading a lesson book.

Giovanni looked at Max and nods before picking a spot for him to sit inside the room. With six people inside the room, Max can finally believe that something is going to happen. Not to mention the call he received before, mentioning something about C-rank promotion. Does it mean that everyone in the room has a chance of promoting into C-rank?

After everyone entered the room, a man in a suit entered the room and stand in front of everyone.

“Hello, everyone. It seemed that everyone is here so, shall we proceed with the meeting?”

Everyone is confused, but they decided to listen first to the explanation of the man.

“Today, you all have been gathered here since you are performed brilliantly during the newcomer competition. Because of that, we’re giving you all a chance to rank up to the C-rank.”

“Is that true? I can get promoted to C-rank?”

The one who is speaking the loudest is naturally Iki.

“Of course! The association didn’t decide it without proper discussion. After all, we have analyzed your battles and decided to push through with this decision. You all know, to rank up, not only you need to do missions, but you also need to have sufficient achievements to rank up. Right now, we’re giving you all a special opportunity in which you could rank up if you finish it.”

Hearing that, not only Iki and Max but everyone else are pretty surprised. The man in the suit then continues his speech since nobody wants to interrupt him.

“All of you who we have gathered here today is already exceeding the standard of D-rank. Flamefist Iki. Strength B, Speed D, Sensitivity D, Energy C. That’s the result of your hero examination test, but I believe that your speed and sensitivity are already at the C-rank. Even if they’re not, your overall ability is of C-rank.”

Hearing that, Iki nodded since the appraisal the man gives is suitable.

“Kieran Sonus, Power C, Speed C, Sensitivity C, Energy C. Beastboy, Power C, Speed A, Sensitivity C, Energy D. Frozen Rose, Power C+, Speed C+, Sensitivity B, Energy B.”

The moment the man read out Elica’s stats, everyone looked at her in a new light. The stats that he is reading right now isn’t the stats from the hero examination but the result of United Heroes' appraisal based on their performance in the competition. Although it wasn’t 100% accurate, it won’t be too far off.

“To be honest, it’s so scary at how you seemed to be catching up to the Fiery Fairy. There’s been a talk that you two will be the face of the new generation. *cough* where am I? Let’s continue.”

The man seemed to want to say something more, but after feeling the gaze that Elica gives him, he stopped.

“Child of Light, Power C, Speed S, Sensitivity D, Energy D+.”

Giovanni's other stats don’t seem to have caught up to his S-rank speed, but no matter who looked at it, that dazzling S-rank stat is standing out like a sore thumb. Finally, the man looked at Max strangely.

“As for Air Hero, the association feels a headache looking at your stats. Power D, Speed D, Sensitivity D, Energy D. Are you sure that you’re doing the same hero examination test just like the others?”

After Max’s official stats are announced, everyone looked at Max strangely. They must realize by now that Max is putting restraints on himself when he is doing the hero examination test.

“*cough* I’ve heard from Kalina about your circumstances. Honestly, that girl is very hard to handle. Anyway, the stats that the association appraised are as follows. Power D, Speed C, Sensitivity A, Energy D.”

Hearing Max’s new stats, everyone feels that it is more reasonable. The people that present here have fought with Max except for Beastboy, and they can testify that this stats more or less what they have expected. Max doesn’t have overwhelming power and energy as he couldn’t fight against them head-on. The speed of the C-rank is apparent from the rate Max could quickly deploy his ability. As for sensitivity, this has always been vague, and some looked down on it compared to the other stats.

However, judging from Max’s surprising ability that seemed to enable him to win over some of the people present, there’s nothing more reasonable than to blame it all on his A-rank sensitivity.
