Since the last incident with the Evil Mastermind, the United Heroes association has been losing a lot of heroes. That is why we’re planning to promote heroes that could rank up to fill the missing spots. That is why, just like you guys from D-rank getting promoted to C-rank, there are C-rank that will be promoted to B-rank and so on. Of course, Fiery Fairy is one of them. Her stats are qualified since a long time ago. Previously, we’re doing it moderately to keep her out of the enemy’s radar, but right now, we have no choice but to do this.”

Hearing the man's monologue, the people present still don’t quite understand why he is saying this.

“The United Heroes association needed new symbols of justice. The wave of new generation heroes. There’s the rainbow brigade in the past, and they could become the mental pillar of the people. Right now, although there are some amazing heroes like Elrisa, she just couldn’t fill the gap that is left behind by the previous generation.”

Hearing that explanation, Max could somehow relate to it. After all, back in the days, he seemed to be a hardcore fan of the rainbow brigade and captain green. Nowadays, although there are still competent active heroes, they don’t have the same kind of fanbase as the rainbow brigade.

“That is why you’re here. You’ve been selected as the heroes that will be groomed and supported by the association to be the new hope of the people. You can say that you’re going to become rising stars.”

Hearing that, Iki exclaimed happily. This is also a surprise for Max as he wants to become a famous and recognizable hero too.

“From the D-rank to C-rank, the six of you are the chosen ones. From C-rank to B-rank, Fiery Fairy and Aqua Jet is the candidate. B-rank to A-rank, Metal Arm. Lastly, from A-rank to S-rank, Pyrogen and Thorn Queen.”

Now, everyone can’t hide their surprised face. After all, there’s a candidate for S-rank hero and two of them to boot. Max had heard of Pyrogen before when he visited Yuna’s agency before, but he can’t make head or tails about Thorn Queen.

“The mission is different for each rank, and your mission is the simplest. That is to train and pass the boot camp.”

Even Elica as the only girl and the calmest among them, couldn’t help but show a change of expression on her face.

“Well, for a month from the following Monday, you guys will be receiving special training in the camp prepared by the United Heroes association. Without any hesitation, Iki raised his hand, and Max followed after. Surprisingly, the third person to raise his hand is Beastboy. Kieran, Elica, and Giovanni, on the other hand, are still lost in thoughts. After all, compared to the three boys that already raised their hands, they come from reputable households, and even without this mission, they are sure to reach C-rank sooner or later.

“May I know, what’s the purpose of the training camp?”

Before giving his answer, Kieran asked the man in the suit to make sure he understands the mission.

“Of course, it’s for training. It’s called a training camp for that reason. Hehehe *cough* okay, to tell the truth, the United Heroes association thinks you’re not up to standard yet. That is why you still need to train.”

“Isn’t that unnecessary? As you said before, our stats are sufficient to reach C-rank.”

“That might be what you think. However, the enemy that you will be facing isn’t regular villains. Just like what happened in the newcomer competition, Air hero and Child of Light need to work together to defeat Richard. That’s 2v1, and it is done by the finalist of the newcomer competition that is basically the cream of the top. So, are you still confident that you are already fulfilling the standard? If you meet Richard and fight one on one, are you confident that you can win? What we want to achieve is having new heroes that won’t lose to the evil mastermind.”

Hearing what the man in the suit has to say, Kieran's smile fades away. After giving it another thought, finally, Kieran raised his hand.

“I’m in then. I want to get stronger anyway.”

Elica then followed after Kieran and raised up her hands. After all, when the final of the newcomer competition is ongoing, she realized that even if she is the one standing there facing Richard, she doubts she could fare better than Max and Giovanni.

Of course, Giovanni also raised his hand immediately after. Looking at the trace of the wound at the back of his palm, Giovanni doesn’t want to lose again.

“Good. Since every one of you agreed to join this mission, I will send the details to your phone now and explain it further.”

After that, Max got a mail coming on in the phone, and he read it while listening to the man’s explanation.
