Second Kill

If Yann is angrier because of the fact that Bonio has been killed, Yuna is in more of a confused state. As she is following 5 meters behind Yann, she could see everything that is happening right now.

She also noticed Yann’s expression and Bonio’s lifeless body. Someone must have helped Max since even she didn’t think that it was Max that killed Bonio. More importantly, Yann and Yuna are both frantically looking for Max or whoever it was that helped him.

Returning to the time after Max first fall down to the ground after being released from Bonio’s wind choke, he still looked in disbelieve at Bonio’s corpse. He doesn’t really understand what happened, but he knows that it was clearly his doing.

Although Max knows that Bonio is someone who is trying to kill him, he still approached his body nevertheless. He checked up on Bonio and confirmed that he is really dead. At the sudden realization that he actually killed someone, Max’s stomach is feeling butterflies as he wanted to throw up immediately.

Max used his hand to cover his mouth, and once again, as he looked at Bonio’s body that is motionless on the floor, he moved the body to the corner of the room as somehow deep inside his mind, he hoped that Bonio isn’t dead.

However, as Bonio's body is just leaning over the wall without any breathing signs, Max once again feels the urge to throw up. At once, Max runs towards the toilet and throws up immediately. He looked at the mirror, and as he looked at his messy appearance, it was as if Bonio is standing behind him, haunting him.

“No! Don’t come near me!”

Max immediately stumbled backward and hugged both of his feet. His whole body is trembling, and he is even crying.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t really mean it. it was an accident.”

Even when Max lost his parents, the mental damage that he received isn’t this big. At that time, he is more ignorant, and more importantly, he didn’t get the chance to come into contact with his parent’s dead body. Right now, it can be said that it is his first contact with a dead body. Not to mention it was someone that he personally kills.

Many people said that the first people you kill would haunt you until the rest of your life. No matter how many lives you reap afterward, the first life you kill will always be an unforgettable experience. It will keep on following you for the rest of your life, and no matter what you do, you won’t be able to shake off the feeling of guilt from killing your first person.

Max is feeling it right now and being engulfed in the feeling of guilt of taking someone else’s life. Right now, Max is hallucinating as if he can hear Bonio laughing maniacally beside him. What’s more, Max's condition isn’t mentally stable either. He keeps on having suicidal thoughts before discovering the one behind his parent’s accident and can be said to direct his thinking on revenge. Although on the surface he looked fine, deep inside, he keeps on struggling with himself.

Finally, all of the feelings he keeps inside himself come out, just like a dam being broken as the weight of taking someone’s else life added to his coped-up emotion bomb. It wasn’t wrong to say that Max is almost going crazy.

“It wasn’t me. I really didn’t mean to do it.”

Max keep on denying what has happened and tried to run away from reality. At that moment, he looked at Bonio’s shadow and screamed out loud at it. He finally broke his limit as he lost it. The moment Max screamed, Bonio’s shadow disappeared into the air. Somehow, Max returned to reality. He realized the situation that he is in, and there’s no time to panic.

Although he manages to escape from Bonio, there’s still another thing to worry about right now. He couldn’t get out of this place since there’s another enemy that he needs to face. That is Yann that is facing Yuna. Max didn’t know how Yuna’s fight against Yann will go, but he didn’t believe that Yuna will be able to defeat him. After all, there’s a big difference in rank between the two, not to mention the elemental suppression.

As for a miracle, just like how he managed to defeat Bonio, he knows that it was only a fluke and wasn’t something that he will be able to repeat even if he is in the same situation again. He now has to prepare a plan since he hasn’t entirely out of danger. He knows very well as Yann and Yuna’s battle might have been ending sooner too.

Once again, the first thought that crossed his mind is to make a surprise attack. He will have no chance trying to fight head-on, so the best thing to do is once again employing dirty tricks. Since he already killed Bonio, it seemed that he had crossed the lines, and there’s nothing that he couldn’t do anymore. Killing Yann next didn’t pressure him as his mind is not in the right condition. Max is already on the borderline to break mentally and goes on the psychopath track.

That is also why right now, Max could do such a heartless strategy. Just when Yann getting enraged seeing Bonio’s dead body and turned his body towards Yuna, Yann wanted to ask what is going on and whether Yuna knows anything about it or not.

At that moment, without Yann and Yuna noticing, a wind bullet struck and pierced Yann straight on the heart. Yuna watched all of it in detail since she saw the moment the wind bullet comes out from Yann’s chest and even got some blood splattered on her face.

Max has been waiting for this moment. Just like when he attempted his sneak attack at Bonio when he turned his body, he also waited for Yann to do the same thing before launching his attack. It is still the same wind bullet, but at this moment, there’s an extra chilling feel to it. Max managed to perform the attack without Yann noticing it as he hides his body at a table behind Bonio. As he conjured the wind bullet, he has done so insides Bonio’s body to minimize the disturbance in the air and reducing the chance of Yann evading the attack.

The strategy is proven to be a great success since, after the first attack, Max managed to achieve his goal.
