Getting rescued

Yuna still looked horrified since although she has been acting as a hero, there hasn’t a moment where she encounters death in front of her eyes. Most of the time, the villains that she is facing end up being captured after taken out. For her, this is the first time she saw someone being killed.

The moment Yann’s chest is pierced by the wind bullet, the water ball prison that is holding Yuna is broken, and she landed on the ground. Feeling lost on what to do as the scene around her seemed to change.

As they are being taken to an alternate space using a piece of equipment, Yann seemed to be the controller as Yuna and Max are released straight after his death. It was such a strange occurrence, more so for the people inside the social service building to see four people coming out of nowhere, and two of them are lifeless.

“Kyaaaa!”

People started to scream, and the scene is going out of control. Yuna is still confused, but she quickly handles the situation.

“Everyone, please calm down. My name is Yuna, and I’m a hero. Here’s my license. Someone, please call the United Heroes emergency number and tell them to come here.”

The people feeling assured knowing that Yuna is a hero, and some of them followed what she asked and called the United Heroes emergency number. After that, Yuna tried to examine Yann and Bonio’s condition even though she felt nauseous and wanted to throw up. Trying her best to hold it in and assessing the surroundings, she finally saw Max nearby, and he is throwing up non-stop.

“Gaaah!”

“Max, are you okay?”

Yuna immediately approaches him and pats him at the back. However, she notices something abnormal the moment she heard what Max is saying.

“No, it wasn’t me. I didn’t kill them. No, I killed them. But I don’t have any choice. It’s killed or be killed; I did the right thing. No, go away. I killed you already.”

Max acted as if he has gone mental. Not to mention that the things that he keeps on repeating don’t make sense at all. Yuna herself isn’t very experienced with this kind of thing as she never handles something like a mental trauma. More importantly, after she heard what Max is saying, she has a hard time believing it. Is it really Max that killed both Bonio and Yann?

Yuna couldn’t do a lot of things right now since she is clearly entirely spent. After using her finishing move, the drawbacks are kicking in, and she can feel that her consciousness slowly fades out. Luckily, the United Heroes emergency team arrived on the scene, and they immediately take care of the clean-up.

When Yuna opened her eyes again, she found herself staring at an unfamiliar ceiling. She can hear beeping sounds coming from the vital signs monitor, and the IV needles stuck on her left hand. She tried to sit down, but she couldn’t muster any strength.

“Oh, you’ve woke up?”

Yuna wakes up and can see familiar faces right away. Her parents are already there waiting for her to wakes up as well as taking care of her.

“Mom, Dad, why are you here?”

“How can’t we be here? After hearing from the United Heroes association that you’re being admitted to a hospital, we got so worried that we come here immediately.”

“That’s right, Yuna. Your mother feels anxious. After all that happened with your brother, we can’t really afford to lose another child.”

“How many times I have told you, Yuna? The hero’s world is dangerous, and you could lose your life anytime. Not to mention that this time you are just lucky. Please, give up on your hero's job and just be a normal person.”

“Mom, Dad, you know that I won’t give up before I avenge Yoon's death.”

As much as they wanted Yuna to stop being a hero, she has a firm resolve and goal to find the one responsible for her brother’s death. That is also why her parents couldn’t really stop her, as they also wanted justice for their son.

“More importantly, Mom, Dad, do you know what happened to Max? The boy that is there with me?”

“We didn’t hear anything about it. we’re just told that you’re being admitted to a hospital and come here right away.”

Yuna nodded, and she can feel the care and love given to her by her parents. She also knows that to learn about what happened after they escape from alternate space, she needs to ask people from the United Heroes directly. There will be time for that since she will also be required to make reports on what happened.

She won’t face much trouble even though she is doing a personal investigation about Lindt and Vanya since she is allowed to do that as a hero. More likely, the United Heroes association wants to know what happened, and the death of two famous B rank criminals like Yann and Bonio is something big.

She also has many things to report, such as alternate space technology, which is crucial and valuable. She will also be able to ask about what happened to Max too as she makes her reports.

For now, Yuna decided to take her time recovering from the drawbacks of her ability and enjoyed the attention of her parents.

Back to the time when the United Heroes emergency team arrived at the scene, they immediately asked the people around.

“What’s the situation?”

“Sir, suddenly four people appeared out of nowhere. Two men, one boy, and one girl. The girl is the one claiming to be a hero and asked us to call the emergency number. As for the two men, they haven’t moved ever since they appeared, but there’s blood on their bodies. The boy is throwing up continuously over there. I believe seeing the wound on the two men's body is traumatizing for him.”

One of the employees at the social service gives his best report to the emergency team. After patting the man on the shoulder, the emergency team immediately approached Yuna and the rest.

“Sir, the girl is Kim Yuna, a D-rank hero. She is unconscious and needed to be sent to the hospital for further examination, but I didn’t see any external wound. As for the two men, they are dead. We are now trying to confirm their identity since they are carrying no identification paper or hero license. The boy’s mental state is in bad condition, as if he has gone completely crazy. I think we need to send him to be checked by a psychologist.”

“Okay, good job in examining the target. Carry the dead body for autopsy and the girl into the hospital. As for the boy, see if you can talk to him while preparing a schedule with our psychologist.”
